The room was clean and services were good. The only suggestion I have is to have more lighting. There are no ceiling lights except above the jetted tub, just lamps and they were pretty dim. There is a large window but it looked directly into the parking lot and when the curtains are open, you have no privacy. A room on the second floor would solve the problem. The hotel is centrally located and easy to find. It is in walking distance to the main street.Friendly staff

We arrived during the tail end of a 3-day snowstorm that had most of the businesses closed in Virginia City. On our way to the hotel, they gave us a call with a heads up, so we could bring supplies we would not be able to get in town and let us know where to find an open restaurant; very thoughtful of them. The Jr. Suite was very nice, with a beautiful snowy mountain view. After spending a windy, snowy afternoon checking out the town, the in-room jacuzzi tub felt great. We will definitely be back!Walkability: The Hotel is close to C Street and the Train Depot; an easy, scenic walk (in good weather).

We have stayed twice and I met the new owner this last time. She's very helpful and friendly. She took care of a few things for us and we will definitely go back. We always stay in the room with a jacuzzi tub it's spacious and cute. They're older rooms but have antique charm! Definitely fits the area. Thanks again!Rooms: Antique style not modernWalkability: Easy walk to shops

This is a very nice place to stay. As long as the prices don’t go any higher, we’ll definitely consider staying here during our next trip to Virginia City later this year. That said, we stayed here once about 1.5 years ago, and the previous visit was better than this one, tbh. Why wasn’t this stay as great as the last one?For one thing, our room last time had a fridge and this time it didn’t - evidently, fridges are only for suites now. It’s definitely not a huge deal, but nearly every hotel I’ve ever stayed in has a mini fridge in the room, aside from economy/budget places. For another, the breakfast offering was slightly less this time than last. It wasn’t bad, a pretty standard selection for a hotel breakfast - yogurt, muffins, cereal, bagels, juice, coffee. But compared to last time, the spread was a little less generous, with the most glaring absence being hot chocolate, which the kids loved to wake up to. Basically, the breakfast was above average last time. Now it’s fine - on par for your average hotel, but nothing to write home about. The exercise room had also been removed, although we’re told they have plans to build a new one.But the greatest disappointment during our stay was learning that the pool had been decommissioned to make way for a “coming soon” bar & bistro. For the kids, one of the highlights of vacations is swimming in the hotel pool.All-in-all though, and notwithstanding the comparative shortcomings relative to our previous visit, this is still a great place to stay! The rooms are nice, with very high ceilings (probably 10-12’, which apparently were en vogue during the late 1800s?) that make them feel large and spacious. The walls are thick enough that you don’t hear neighboring guests unless they’re obnoxiously loud. The building is clean and well-maintained inside and out, and the grounds are tidy and taken care of.The location is near both of the minimarts in town, and is situated in a quiet part of the neighborhood (although frankly most of the town is quiet most of the time). And during both visits, all the hotel employees were met were simply great - friendly, helpful, professional, and welcoming!Walkability: The hotel is within close walking distance of C Street (I.e. The main street with all the shops, restaurants, and saloons), albeit you have to traverse a fairly steep road to get there.

We use to get a room for all crawls and events up in VC. We loved the staff at the silverland. Since the new ownership and new staff I have never felt more unwelcomed. I will not stay there anymore unless things change. They moved the bar upstairs next to the rooms and that's what I heard all night. I'm not sure what is going on but I'm completely unsatisfied. The rooms are nice and beds are comfortable.

This is the only hotel you should stay at in Virginia City!! No hate to all the other local spots but this place will take care of you. My boyfriend and I got snowed in while visiting VC and could not have had a better experience. Not only did they give us their own personal stock of snacks while we waited but also catered an entire meal for everyone that was snowed in. This is hospitality at its finest even in a small town setting— the new owners of this establishment genuinely care about the people who roll through!! this is not the spooky hotel with no tv and no internet, this is the hotel you actually want to be at!

I would give this hotel a 0 if they had it. In January 2024, new ownership took over. Our organization had a signed legal contract to rent the whole hotel for a large event in May. We had been working with the Silverland for almost two years on this event. The new owner did not honor our contract and in fact wanted to raise prices and charge us for areas that were a no charge on our contract since we booked the whole hotel.Shannon, their so called EVENT manager, didn't even have the decency to contact us to let us know. When I sent an email to her to meet with her, that was when she let us know. She then informed us that she was booking rooms outside of membership! Not only did she did this to us, but she did this to some poor gal who is getting married in June! I have never dealt with such un-professionalism. We had the whole town involved in our event too.We were lucky to be able to find a new venue for our event that is happening is less than 5 months (Most places want contracts more than a year out). We sent a letter to let her know, and she hasn't gotten back to us, but had no problem calling our members that had paid to tell them the Convention was cancelled, causing a panic in our members. It isn't cancelled, just relocated.I came on here and I see why she didn't honor our contract, we had rooms at $101 - $121 a night...She kicked us out to make more money. Wow...I would never recommend this location for any event ever again. We were going to see about booking a future event here, but no way.We love Virginia City, and the towns people are wonderful. It is a shame that have to have such a black sheep at the hotel.

Silverland Inn was close to the wedding venue where we were attending. Carrie C. was especially cordial and went out of her way to accomodate several requests we had, e.g. late arrival, getting a refrigerator because we had a baby with us, and giving us recommendation for local restaurant & park.My only negative feedback is that I believe I used one credit card when booking with Expedia, but the hotel had another card on file. Not sure how that happened. Anyway, I did not have the number/card of the one I thought was on file & therefore I lost out on earning mileage credits on the card I wanted to use. Although I was told that if I could get the card number of the one I wanted to use, the wrong card was charged at 10 am on the day of check out.Lastly, the desk told me the check out time was 10 am, and the cleaning crew were at my door waiting for me to leave, when the advertised check out time was 11 am.Rooms: average size; some have great views of the valley, ours did not; it faced the parking lot; biggest complaint is that the new owners removed refrigerators and microwaves from rooms; ice/laundry room was locked after a certain time at night.

I have an upcoming reservation next month and received a call from a Travis asking for payment, at first I was a bit hesitant since that wasn’t what was agreed on when I first booked my stay, but thankfully he was professional and friendly, and put my mind at ease.It looks like they are under new ownership and policies have changed, no big deal since most hotels are like this and require payment ahead, ( even my Hilton hotels do) look forward to my stay at this little wild Wild West look alike

I booked my room quite awhile ago prior to their policy to collect payment before check in. The woman allowed me to book my room without paying. This week they change their policies so I have been harassed with a daily phone call to either make my payment ahead or they threaten to cancel. What they should have done was left their customers alone who booked prior to the new policy and only made customers who booked after their new policy pay.I canceled my booking and told all my friends to cancel theirs and never stay here again.

After laying in bed for two hours watching a movie, I noticed something crawling near my head on the pillow - turned on the light and saw it was a bedbug. I pulled the sheet back and ended up finding a dozen within 30 minutes, along the mattress protector and headboard. Room 115.The front desk staff were helpful. Volunteered to wash all our clothes and bags. Had us switch rooms and after a thorough inspection, the second room was clean. We couldn't find our keys 2 days later when we were leaving and asked to go check 114 again and were shocked to find that the room still hadn't been cleaned. They tried to make reparations, but I don't think there's really a comparable remedy. I'm just desperately hoping none come home with me. 😫It's a cute place, but I'll not revisit.

Great place. Great view. Same ol boring room as every other hotel at this price point but nice and clean. Eduardo (the night desk attendant) is AWESOME!!! He was great and would be why we came back. I did tear up the bed of my truck with my gooseneck trailer because the entrance into the place was so steep but I think that is NV DOT issue not Silverland. Make sure you come in to the hotel via the truck route.Walkability: If you like hills this is the perfect place to stay. Everything you want to see us in easy walking distance......straight up.

Not super cheap, but affordable. I appreciate that they offer a golf cart to help you up the steep hill in town if you’re unable to do it. The area is extremely hot so I appreciate the indoor pool. It looked like they host big events. The area has cute Western silver rush and mining stuff. It’s an hour from Lake Tahoe, an hour from Reno, and 3 from Sacramento. The rooms were just okay. But I love that wild horses roam the town and hang out near the hotelNearby activities: Gold rush town

The room was spacious and clean. There aren’t fridges in the standard rooms, but they offer alternative options that would work. The front desk staff are fantastic and I really like the touches of humor that are hidden throughout the property. The drawbacks are that the main road for attractions is a very steep trek uphill - we old farts aren’t so good at steep treks uphill; also the front lobby has limited hours and housekeeping staff are only available until 2:00. But they offer services to compensate for the slight inconvenience. It was a nice stay and we’d stay here again if we head back this direction.

Good hotel experience in rural Nevada, my only knock on this place, and it's not their fault, is the wired Internet in Virginia City is horrible. So the hotel internet is pretty slow and disconnects at times. Otherwise I recommend this place strongly. Plan to use your phone as a hotspot, Verizon should work fine, other carriers ymmv up here in VC.OK having said that, I've stayed here several times over the years, they seem to be doing really well in terms of great customer service, I had a great time staying here six nights.Keep in mind, there are some nights where there's no front desk person, so if you're arriving late make sure you know how to get in. Luckily, if you're stuck outside (like you forgot the door code), you can call the manager in the middle of the night and they will come down to let you in.They have a nice coffee and muffins/cereal/bagels in the morning, and it's served up in a nice breakfast area with tables. There's a bar downstairs I never checked out.Any room has a decent view, the rooms on the East side have a great view but hard sun on the windows in the morning.Nearby activities: Ride the V&T Railroad to learn some area history and have a great train ride!

Rooms are clean, all of the employees were very nice. But there is no place to eat there. While there are a few vending machines, you can't even get a hot dog there. Keep in mind when you go, everything in town closes very early... And is a few blocks (straight uphill) away. While the hotel isn't bad, not having someplace to eat on the premises is a deal breaker for me. I won't be going back.

This is the place to stay if visiting Virginia City!Awesome views of the canyon. Walking distance from downtown Virginia City. Clean and spacious rooms. Great pool facility with jacuzzi and also amazing views of the canyon. If visiting during the warmer months, I suggest taking your breakfast outside on one of the several benches and enjoy the views and occasional group of wild horses that visit. There is a wonderful bar downstairs. I love the decor of the room and the nice portraits and pictures hanging throughout the hallways.Staff made me fell at home. Shout out to Carrie and Dennis. Wonderful people. Thanks for making us feel at home.StRooms: Clean and comfortable rooms.Walkability: Close to all of downtown attractions.

Enjoyable stay here while in Virginia City. The staff was nice and accommodating.I was really excited for the indoor pool, (no sunscreen, yay!) and enjoyed swimming around until I noticed the “tagging” and graffiti all around the perimeter of the pool area. No, not spray paint and paint markers here, the names and doodles were etched over the layer of actual scum on the tiles. 🤮🤮🤮 Even though the water was very clean it was super gross, never seen that at any hotel or pool in my life, just yuck.We also booked a suite and I requested a two bed suite and they gave us the wedding suite. It had one massive King size bed. We had to request a different room.Their continental breakfast offering was pretty bleh, with some yogurts, juices, a couple cereals and toast and bagels (in individual ziplock bags, kinda weird). The big highlight was after we checked out, right out in the lawn by the gazebo were 4 beautiful wild horses! All in all a pretty average spot to stay.

My wife and I have stayed here before. Great place. On Monday July 10, 2023 we drove there and inquired about a room for the night. The older woman at the desk said “no rooms were available”. However the parking lot was empty, except for ONE car. After talking for a few minutes, she told my wife and I that they had only two house keepers and no rooms would be ready until Tuesday the next day!! She was NOT pleasant and not an asset to this establishment.

Service was ok, front desk answered our questions and was generally helpful. Room is older and had a couple of issues with maintenance due to age of the hotel. Worn carpet and AC unit that didn't work well. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was typical hotel fare but the breakfast room was huge and they could have the potential to do better. Virginia city was a great alternative to staying in Reno on our way through. Everything seemed clean but if you stay over they don't do daily housekeeping. Nice fresh towels and sheets were provided.

We were out of power for a number of days in Virginia City. We went to the Silver land to inquire if we could stay there because their power had just come back on. They waived their no pet policy, allowed access to all amenities, and all charges were comped the entire time we stayed there. The entire staff was friendly, the hotel was clean and all amenities amenities were in perfect working order. We are grateful beyond words for the Silver land taking us in and taking such wonderful care of us during a difficult time.
