Had a great stay here a couple a weeks ago for a relative's 100-year birthday. I can't say thanks enough for opening the restaurant to provide for dinner outside hours when the downtown was shutdown for snow conditions. I stayed in The Bullion, across the street. While hoping to see ghosts :), I was, instead, left with rooms that were clean, warm, and that would lead me to stay again if visiting Virginia City. Additionally, restaurant food was delicious. Thank you!

Stayed here for a few nights last week. The beds are really comfortable. I was in the old section of the hotel ("Rosie's room") with antiques and a four poster bed. The cast iron tub was heaven! I went on the ghost tour and had dinner at the Crown Point restaurant on Thursday. The food was excellent! And the ghost tour was really cool - we talked to the ghosts! Extra bonus, the hotel cat "Cloudy" joined us on the tour and even came to visit me in my hotel room right before I left on Friday.

This was the best experience we could have asked for.From the moment we arrived the staff greeted us with excellent hospitality.Our room was comfortable and beautifully decorated sending us to a time period back in the 1800's.The bed was very comfortable and our room was super clean.The location of the hotel is super close to Virginia City and the views are stunning.They offer a shuttle to go into Virginia City which was so nice, because this week stay was very busy and parking is limited in town.The hotel restaurant offered delicious cuisine and the bar is super cool to have a drink and relax. They also offer a nice patio to sit and take in the beautiful views.Our stay at this hotel was an unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations, and I can't wait to come back again.

There was zero hot water and heater didn't work. When I called the front desk the lady was so rude. Instead of being apologetic she said on their website it states water and heat and go out at anytime. Mind you this place keeps your room deposit so it makes zero sense for them to not be on top of their boiler room situation. I wasn't person complaining that they had zero heat or hot water. On top of all of that the beds are rock hard and the pillows are not good at all either. I'm just so disappointed with my stay here. I asked for some accommodation but the lady refused. Definitely a negative 1 start on this place...

Love this quaint but upscale hotel & restaurant. The food is excellent, the menu is smallish but has all the main steak, fish and chicken covered. The tri-tip was awesome. Definitely worth visiting this hidden gem!Nearby activities: 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive to Virginia City.Safety: Quiet, out-of-the-way locationFood & drinks: The restaurant and bar onsite are awesome! It's a legitimate 4 star restaurant that stands on its own.

We had a great stay! Not our first time ~ we are returnees. The new owners know how to treat people well. We were greeted cordially by the manager/(owner?), check-in was as simple as handing us the keys to our room and it got even better from there! Our room (#9) faced the west where in the distance we could see the snow-covered Sierra Nevada Mtn. Range. The bed was a very comfortable king and everything in the room was clean and fresh! After a killer meal in the Crowne Point Restaurant right on the property, we enjoyed a "sit" on the deck in the cool night air before heading off to bed. There was a coffee bar on the 2nd floor that we discovered in the a.m. and after we checked out, off we went to Roasters Cafe in VC for breakfast on the deck. We have a bunch more trails to discover and we won't hesitate to stay at the Gold Hill Hotel again!

I was there with a wedding party about 3 weeks ago. The bride wrote a review and you replied “your friend barged into the kitchen..illegally”. That is not true. I did not barge in anywhere. People in the bridal group were trying to check in as well as people outside the bridal party and were getting frustrated because nobody could be found. And it was more than the two minutes you referred to. I did see you in kitchen and you waved at me so I opened the door and you had all the check in papers with you. I did not come into the kitchen at all. I was totally impressed with the hotel and the rooms were very nicely done. It is an old hotel and had that feel. Loved the decor and comfort. Our first night we were trying to go elsewhere for dinner due to tensions all around. No place in Virginia City was available as a special event brought in lots of people. We came back to hotel and girls were very pleasant about us staying. They told us it might take a while due to a few big parties already reserved. We were all fine with that and set up table in big room. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Everyone tipped and I personally gave another $100.00 and asked the waitresses to share. Thanked them for their patience. The attitude was not welcoming from owner and bartender No smiles or cheerful welcomes. I knew they were very busy so I tried to overlook that and I did get along with the bartender and he was friendlier and very nice at Sunday breakfast. I never saw the wedding gal. The bride did and that was fine. However during the ceremony and reception, other guests and customers were coming down the stairs and through the great room. We had these areas reserved until 4:30. We started packing up at 3:15. There were other entrances /exits for guests. One guest even followed the bride down the stairs. Where was the wedding person and or signs of private party. Please use other doors. We had to do a lot of moving and dusting to decorate. That was suppose to be done and all we were to do was decorate. We left it cleaner than we found it and put all their belongings back. Overall. Nice place to stay. I would not do a wedding event or private party there. We were treated like we were intruding on the owners space and not welcome for this event. The waitresses were fantastic

Great dinner specials, great staff-both the owners & employees. Friendly bar setting, very nice rooms (Stayed in Room 11). We were on a long motorcycle ride, and that shower was very nice. Love the setting! <2 miles from downtown Virginia City and all that it has to offer. Cannot wait to go back!Hi Joansy.

I encountered great service from friendly folks at the Crown Point Restaurant. I went to the Sunday buffet brunch on my way to an appointment in Virginia City. Everybody there were kind, informative, and super nice. The food selection was flavorful and plenty. I'd definitely return there for food. The bar had some interesting selections which I will try upon my return. After consuming a bit too much 15 Year old Irish Whiskey the night before, I wasn't in a mood for drinking any more alcohol during the brunch. Next time, perhaps. I found my experience there very enjoyable.

Went in for Easter Brunch and the food was amazing. There was fresh food brought out nonstop and they had a carving station. The young man at the carving station was constantly making sure all the food was filled and hot. In the last 2 years they have added new dining room floors, painted the exterior and new carpet throughout the hotel. I come in every week for Miner's Monday and have never had a bad experience.The only downside of Easter was the couple claiming they have been coming in for 30 years, that none of the regulars or staff have ever seen and complained from the minute they walked in!!!

The coldest brunch that we've ever had! I wish that I was exaggerating but I'm not. A buffet where every item was Cold . Maybe they were having a problem in the kitchen, but then they should have shut down!! To be fair, it was nice Cold food . It is very sad that a restaurant that was so good has gone down Soooo far. We've been going there for over 25 years and we miss the quality of what it once was.

Awesome balcony room. #7. We got two rooms for the weekend and I wish I knew 6 and 7 were joined. We got 7 and 8. Both had balcony’s which is nice. 7 over looked the driveway had a huge balcony and had lots of natural sunlight.8 was a little dim. Bartender bill was great and Ryan works there would drive us around and give us rides. Just ask for his number 😉 will def return.

Amazing. Checking in was a breeze, The parking was easy. Acess to the rooms even better, Some of the nicest and coolest people i met at this Hotel and they truly made us feel like we were at home. I even got to ghost hunt, and share my stories, The owners are such good people and the whole crew including the bartenders are so chill and down to earth. I plan on going back soon. I had a great time. Even cloudy the cat was a joy to follow around the property. lolThank you Tony and crew for making us feel at home in your lovely hotel.

So I think the restaurant it more deserving of a 3.9. We came on a walk in and we’re quickly accommodated. We were given water very quickly and the cups never allowed to be empty. It did take a very long time to be able to put in our order. I think they could have at least taken our drink orders right away. And the soup came almost the same time as the meal. I got the ghost burger and it was perfectly cooked. And the onion rings are some of the best I ever had. The shrimp scampi was also delicious. The chicken was very well seasoned although a bit to much salt as well with the veggies, but still tasty. The mashed potatoes were on the creamy side. My self I prefer a bit thicker. And the gravy was oddly really sweet. Like really really sweet. Overall it was a really nice meal. I also stopped into the bar for a drink. Got quick service there. And a double rum and coke that was looted generously. I do feel it’s one of the best places in town to get dinner

The food here was actually really really good. I definitely recommend. I absolutely love the hotel. Better than I thought. Would definitely spend the night here again. Would probably rent one of the detached cabins. I hear a lot of good ghost stories that I'd like to experience someday. It's neat to have the restaurant and bar in the same lodging area so it is a simple thing of just coming downstairs. The only thing is they do not open all night.

If you want a place that has off the beaten path charm, this is it. Our room had a 4 poster canopy bed (I slept like a rock), antique furniture, old fashioned bathroom with a big cast iron tub, and a balcony with a great view of the canyon. Also the doors squeaked and the floor slanted a bit, cool reminder you are in a 160 year old hotel. Great bar, Jessica is awesome. Food is top notch. Owners and staff are welcoming and professional. Also behind the hotel you can catch a ride on the V&T train to Virginia City. Great experience, we'll be back.

This Hotel has become run down. This used to be such a fun and beautiful place. Upon our arrival the attendant was rude. When we got to our room they had done shotty patch jobs on the wall with paint that didn't even match. The weekend we stayed the entire downstairs was reserved for a wedding and we weren't allowed use of the restaurant or bar. Additionally our room was right over the bar and at 730 am on sunday morning kitchen staff came in and blared the music. At this point this is a location we will never return to. Sad this is what is has become. research before you decide to stay.

Gold Hill Hotel was an amazing and rustic experience and adventure! We absolutely loved it, it was our 1st time staying here! We (family of 4) stayed in the Miners Lodge Cabin for two nights. It was awesome, we communicated with some ghosts with an app called Ghost Hunting Tools there was action all over the property...and we truly loved eating at the Crown Point Restaurant, as well! There food was delicious and the service was amazing! 😋😍😊 Suzy was our server, she was so friendly and absolutely ROCKS! 💯

One of my favorite places! New owners are the nicest. They have really made the place to feel like home. From the GM to the bartender to the restaurant staff overall is excellent. Chef they have now is off the hook. Great place to find the spirits both living and on the other side. Clean, good prices and hidden hot spot off the VC side. Not more than I can say except EXCELLENT!!! Have had amazing times, meals, and events here. Good is too notch, really the same only high end restaurant in the area. Had a man amazing hotel with a wide variety of room options for all occasions. They also have a great bar and host regular ghost tours at one of the oldest establishments on Virginia City.
