Ok, this place was WONDERFUL! We were working out in Verdi and needed a nice place to sit and eat. This place looked like they were good and had good prices. We came in and the customer service was TOP NOTCH!! Our server was attentive, kind and very friendly! The aesthetic inside was comfortable and inviting. Felt like a great place to come have lunch or come hang out on a Friday night at the bar. The food was soooo good! I had the Sierra Cowboy Sandwich with a side salad. and the sandwich was perfect! The tritip fell apart in your mouth and the BBQ sauce was sweet but tangy combine with the Sierra Mustard Mayo on the Jalapeno bread was the perfect amount of sweet, savory, with the perfect amount of spicy. The Ruben was sooo good and the way that the smoked pastrami was cooked and looked like it was grilled was so good AANNNDDD don't even get me started on the mac-n-cheese! Tasted like something my gramma would make. I love finding places like this where the food is great, the customer service is great and you get one of the best experiences! CHECK THIS PLACE OUT BECAUSE ITS WELL WORTH IT!!

Closer than you think! This place was badass 🤘It was everything I could hope for - Taphouse, Amazing Food, rustic cabin vibes and deeply comfortable environment. I ate inside, but i love that next time i come here i can bring my wife and our dog and they have a really lovely patio.The service was outstanding, quick and attentive, very personable and considerate!10/10 would recommend!Also got to meet the owner and his son, and they’re great people. Come support this local business! You won’t be disappointed

I thought I found a really great place the atmosphere and service were amazing but the food was less than desirable I had the Korean bbq burger and instead of getting Korean bbq I got a lot of fat on top of the burger. My girlfriend got the Tri tip 40 smash and it was a pill of mostly greasy onions. I got sick… I don’t recommend the food here

In my mind I want to give them more than five stars. This place took me back to almost a Midwestern wood vibe super cool all this fun stuff to look at and sit and talk about great for conversations while waiting, and we didn't wait long. I went with my friend, to have lunch, and I did not expect the level of burger that was in front of me, literally best burger ever, never knew this adorable restaurant existed. I now want to call this the little Hidden Gem of Verdi if you have time to stop there do, if you don't you're crazy! They had the best staff and even though it was busy they made it look effortless. We could not even tell they were busy, although by the parking lot I knew that they were. My friend and I both concurred it was fabulous. We had complete privacy to go over our lunch business the waiter and waitress that helped us we're on top of it. I never wanted for anything the little French fries are a must try! I didn't taste much on their menu because yes like I said I was there for lunch. But FYI they have mac so I will be back. My burger was so perfectly done and tasty that I will drive to Verde from my home just to get that burger. Definitely Open Flame Grill! From what I understand they make their own barbecue sauce and ranch, a must in any good restaurant. I totally heart this restaurant🍔💛.

Blink and you'd pass right by it, Chop 40 is a rustic hidden gem right in the heart of Verdi!The decor, background soundtrack, and ambiance sets the tone for one of the most memorable dining experiences to date.The staff, though short-staffed (like most places now a days) was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu selections.I overindulged in the flavorful Korean short ribs with shaved Brussels sprouts AND the 40 Smash which is a mashed baked potato with jalapenos, black olives, onions, cheddar cheese... I chose the smoked Tri-tip with the house BBQ sauce and C40 drizzles and sour cream.💤 😴If you find yourself hungry and on the opposite end of the highway near Verdi, do yourself a favor and make Chop 40 a food destination to stop by for some great vibes and food!

This place is very legit, great ambience and incredibly good food. Beer selection is great and the wait staff fantastic. Everything we ordered was good, but of particular note was the Reuben, so good! We will definitely be back!

This place was amazing. The smash 40 sounds not good but it was so tasty. Dusti is by far the best! She was doing everything and was so attentive. I would go back for sure.Recommend stopping in if you are in town and need a great drink and a tasty dinner !

This cool little hole in wall, held many hidden gems. We tried the Stuffed Fried Eggs, the BBQ Chicken Bomb, and the Bacon & Brussels. All three were great! My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our experience! We would totally recommend this place!

Wonderful meal!! We came in late around 8pm Friday 9 July,, just stopping through on our way home. We were able to sit outside since it was nice. Ordered the Tri-top tacos and Tri-tip salad. Probably could have split the salad! It had lots of great stuff on it and the dressing was awesome. Lots of beer or ciders to choose from as well. Wish we had room for the cookie dessert! Staff was great as well.

Went to a birthday for a friend. It’s definitely off the beaten path, but in a nice, cool way. Worried about what to wear? Don’t. It’s super casual. And, the food is above average and prices are excellent! You must try this place, at least once. I believe you’ll likely return a second time.

OMG! This place is AMAZING! Awesome guest service, fresh squeezed margaritas, cold tasty beer on tap and tasty delicious food! Everything we ordered was on POINT. We decided to walk there from the rv koa place we were staying, and it was well worth the loooong walk. This gem is a must! We came for the Labor day weekend from Vegas and The CHOP is the place to be. Children and pet friendly. Oh and let's not forget the dessert, we had the piezookie&bread pudding, yummy!

Fun little restaurant made us feel very welcome. Great service and I really liked the menu. Pictured is the BBQ Chicken Bomb, really tasty and unique. I also had the Shrimp Coconut Curry soup and it was delicious and rich. Must return to try more of the menu!

I had a BBQ chicken, the one wrapped around cream cheese and jalapeno and it was the best food Ive had during my stay in the US.I was going back to the bay area from Reno, got hungry and made a random stop in a random town. I am a very picky eater and was NOT expecting much but the food there is definitely worth more than what they charge for.The crust on the chicken was just the right amount of crispy, chicken was just the right amount of crispy, you could taste the jalapeno but it wasn't too spicy, and the cream cheese. Who would've thought of that, cream cheese and chicken??? I never thought those two would be so good together. Oh and the BBQ sauce? Hit the spot. Its definitely more than a 10/10.The cookie and ice cream I had for desert was very nice, too. Take a bite and you have a chocolate volcano oozing hot choclate lava along with the coldness from the ice cream. Was honestly a bit too sweet, but still a solid 7/10 at least.I really enjoyed it.
