It's overall just a super fun environment here. The hotel is clean and has a pool. It's directly attached to everything so you don't have to go outside unless you forgot something. The indoor pool was nice and my grandson really enjoyed it. He met other kids there and had a good swim. Amusement for kids, games for adults, dining and bars right here, great for a family with a little bit of everything for everyone. I even won a little money, slots are cool here too!

Overall we left our one night stay disappointed with Boomtown. My wife and I decided to upgrade our room to the king suite. It was an additional one hundred plus but the room was advertising over 1,100 sq ft suite. We were using booking/Priceline apps for the room sizes and room descriptions. We even confirmed this with our check in clerk. This was the 1,100 plus sq ft room suite. What we got was <500 sq ft as advertised. This wasn’t a deal breaker for us. We planned on informing the clerk when we checked out the next day. That evening, we had to run the loud AC unit all night long to cool off the room but the AC failed to preform. The room got as high as 74. This was difficult to sleep with the AC running and with the room being less than we prefer. Again, we got the “Suite”Next day at checkout, we advised the nice clerk of our experience and asked a manager to call us so we could share our experience. In less than 2 hours, Haley phoned us.We advised her of our experience and she basically said she couldn’t do anything cause we didn’t book with the third party apps. (She did offer a $50 refund for the AC problem, we declined) This made very little sense to me. If one of my affiliates was falsely representing my company, Which impacted my clients decisions on a standard room or upgraded suite, I would do everything in my power to ensure that Client returned.I don’t believe in writing negative reviews. In fact, this may be only the second time I’ve ever done such a thing. When the on-site manager seemingly dismisses a clients concerns, I’m going to write a review. I guess I should have told her to check my players card to show my gaming habits, I’m sure she might have taken a different approach

My husband and I stay at the Best Western/Boomtown each time we visit Reno, Nevada. The accommodations are comfortable (10 minutes away from the bustle of Downtown Reno) and if you get a Boomtown rewards card, you often receive offers for free night/s stay.Rooms: The rooms in the North Tower are roomy and newly appointed. The rooms in the South Tower are a bit smaller, but nearer the pool. All the rooms have a Microwave, small Refrigerator, and full bathrooms with Hair dryer.Nearby activities: The Family Fun Center (arcade), Carousel, and free Bingo each Wednesday at the Guitar Bar offer great fun at reasonable prices.Food & drinks: The nearby restaurants (Mel’s Diner, and Boomtown Steakhouse on-premises, and Verdi Grill next door) each offer a great dining experience at different price-points.

Great away. Boomtown has all the accommodations needed for a pleasant stay at the casinos hotel, including bathtubs, microwaves, and mini fridges in every room as well as heated pool and live entertainers. They always are giving away a ton of free stuff for being members too. Located close the entry of Nevada, closer than a lot of places still in California, It takes less than 2 hours to get there from Oroville. Can't wait to go again.Rooms: Rooms have been reinnovated and are exceptionally comfortable for being so compact. Central heat and air, flat screen digital TV with Chrome cast capability, and several local or app channels to choose from. Water is pretty hot for such a cold place at times.Nearby activities: Not a whole bunch of surroundings nearby, other than the expanding trailer parks and the newly opened Verdi Grill House close to Cabellas wild life apparell believe, is the reason why it seems so quiet there One would have to go further into Reno to find more activity. However, there is a fully equipped arcade set up there with awesome video games and virtual ride that will have you or your kids clutching your stomachs!Safety: Safe enough. I would be more worried about slipping on ice in the parking lot upon arrivalWalkability: Be careful. Slippery sometimesFood & drinks: Boomtown offers food comps for Mel's dinner and other associated stores or restaurants in the fiscinity.Noteworthy details: Plenty of parking in front. But depending on where your hotel room is, there are some available parking spaces in the back of the casino that lead to entry doors of both the casino and hotel evelators

To be honest the beds here are not very comfortable at all. I got the suite with the separate bedroom and living room with balcony and the beds made a clicking noise from the springs that you can hear "loudly"when you get up from the mattress. Also the mattress for the pull out couch also VERY worn and old you can feel springs through it when laying on it very uncomfortable. If you have kids the indoor pool is great and the huge Fun Center. I really wish they would update the beds I would stay more.

Good place to stay on the way to California. On par with expectations for a BW along with a few more lights and sounds that come from the casino. Food and entertainment walking distance indoors, the kids loved it. The only downside was the indoor pool. Too loud and typical lack of ventilation. Overall feeling is we'd absolutely stay here again.

It has a small town feel with the comfortably of friendly staff. The place is outdated yet it holds onto the charm of the past if you’re into that. I liked the nostalgia. My King size bed in a smoking room with a view offered a perception of the hills and mountains surrounding this area. I would come back here again but I believe the prices are a bit higher than the value one could get elsewhere. In my case, it was nearer to the family I was visiting and provided great home cooked food at Mel’s Dinner and a play space for kids of varying ages. I’d come back. Traveling in this area is difficult if you are unaccustomed to winding roads and changing MPH as you move about.

I can not believe how rude the woman supervisor was to me on the phone today. Way to lose this place of thousands per month by my husband and I. One person tells you one thing and then the next person tells you another. Terrible customer service! I've never been treated that was by a host at any casino! I spend thousands of dollars there gambling often and I will never go there again after the way that lady just treated me. Also the elevator smells like there's some type of electrical fire when you get off of it on the 6th floor, I told someone about it and came next time it was still stinking of burnt wires.Noteworthy details: Terrible customer service. Lost my lifetime of business from my entire family great job lady.

We stayed at this hotel twice, the 6th floor of the north tower is a smokers den. the whole floor smelled, even our room like pot and cigarettes. We got the biggest suite, a 2 bedroom and it looked like it got a half a!@# upgrade. The bathroom was updated with a new tub and shower, but the main area and bedrooms were stuck in 90s decor. The 2nd stay here we were on the third floor and it was very beautiful and spacious, and updated.Pros: It's inexpensive and offers a dance floor with live entertainment into the wee hours of the morning. The parking is free and so is the internet. Casino + kids fun center under one roof is great for families. The outside decor of a old western theme is fun.Cons: The fun center only opening at 11am is a bummer since we were out of the hotel by then. Mel's diner was 60 something dollars for 3 mediocre breakfast meals. My steak was chewy, and the avocado in the burrito was not fresh. This place made me realize I don't like diner food. Every single time I went into the elevator, someone inside would comment on the noise or how it will break soon. Front desk person seemed to hate her job, no smiles or greeting.

This place is a nightmare. THe air is unfit to breathe,my room had absolutely no view, the levels were incoectly numbered, the stairway door locks behind you I was lucky to escape through basement… Mel’s food was decent but cig smell permeated there too, then the card machine kept malfunctioning. I quickly went back to front desk and the lady took awhile but I got my refund and fled outside to breathe again! Drove up along 80 to Truckee Donner Lodge, night and day diff. Oh, the Boomtown. BW dint even have a free breakfast!

My Freind borrowed a wheel chair from the hotel. They gave her an extra wide one. Said it was the only wheelchair they had available .It was hard to push , and difficult getting in and out of the room.Noteworthy details: The hallways had different odd smells.

Big Sports-Book area and big screen TV's. Parking for semi's makes this my go-to stop in Reno. Did have great buffets, but Covid-- well, no more. Quiet compared to other Casinos. I like that.Food & drinks: Mel's dinner is reliable. Not the greatest service, and the food is mundane compared to their (used to be) buffets. But you'll be able to drop a stone after eating here.

Was a bit confusing after check in to find the right parking lot, but once we did, we found the south tower entrance, next to Peets coffee with front door handicap parking. The south tower elevators were just inside the doors which was very convenient. Stopped in at Mel's Diner for dinner and shared the 3pc cod basket only with mashed potatoes and gravy instead of fries, as we have very small appetites (recovering from throat cancer surgery.) Was very good, waitress was great, will check them out for breakfast in the morning before we continue on our trip.Nearby activities: Mel's Fun Place, has miniature golf, great for family entertainment. Casino yes, but we aren't into that, so we played mini golf instead. They also have a pool and exercise area on the 2nd floor in the south tower.Food & drinks: We are at Mel's Diner and food was great, we had dinner, and will stop by for bfast before continuing on our trip.Noteworthy details: Just a word of advice, buy you drinks/ sodas for your room downstairs at the deli, coffee/tea shop, gift shop, or at the gas station, as if you purchase then from the vending machines, it's outrageous in price a 16 oz bottle of Pepsi was $10 for 1.You get 6 options, Pepsi, Cherry Pepsi, Aquafina, Rockstar, Mountain Dew original, Diet Pepsi.

I was able to go with family and my family member worked with her host Spike. Spike was amazing, great service and was on top of everything. The rooms were spacious and clean, a little dated, but you get the old Reno feel. We love Boomtown because it's big enough to have a great time gambling but not too big to get lost. The bar usually has live music and it's actually pretty good - we always have a great time. The rewards program usually gets you at minimum free food or match play money so that's a bonus. And it's in the same exit as Cabela's, which is a plus. The new Verdi restaurant is off site but a great new addition.

I can honestly say I have never written a review because they are time consuming. With that said I made it a point to write this one! My family and friends stayed at this hotel for the weekend of the 2023 Reno air races plus 2 additional nights. Long story short I made a mistake and booked our room through a 3rd party and did not notice it was for a smoking room. When the hotel called to confirm our reservation I confirmed that we indeed booked for the dates but the smoking room was a mistake that went unnoticed. I put in a request that if there were any cancellations we would like to change to a non-smoking room because our daughter has asthma and she was planning on joining us . Our friend whos last name is Green booked a suite with several other rooms for additional family and friends. He cancelled a couple of his rooms because some were unable to attend. He cancelled within the allotted cancellation time prior to check in. When we arrived they said there were no cancellations so were stuck with what we reserved (the smoking room). I had also went to their website and checked their availability for the additional days we were staying for non smoking rooms and there was availability. When I explained to the receptionist that our friend had cancelled some rooms and there were some non smoking rooms available online for the later days she said "let me look into this" and she went into the back room. Then a very verbally aggressive man by the name of Dave appeared from the back room. He started yelling at me in front of all the receptionists and told me "you booked that room and we are full" "would you like to leave" "we don't give refunds this late" "I can escort you out if you would like" then he stormed back to the back room. Needless to say I was speechless and stunned... I asked to talk to the manager and the lady told me he was the manager. I would like to escalate this even further because Dave should not be in a customer service roll let alone a manager. The fact is there were cancellations and open non smoking rooms available for some of our days but no attempt was made to try to accommodate my family instead I was verbally abused and humiliated in the process. The smoking rooms/halls are not clean, the elevator kept making jerking movements and the cable was rubbing on the side of the elevator. When this was brought to their attention they said "yeah we know". Our daughter chose to take the stairs as did others because of the elevators known problems. They ended up getting locked in the bottom of the stairs because the door would not open. My daughter had to call my husband from her cell phone to come and let her out. When my husband talked to the front desk about the door in the stair well not opening they again said "yeah we know". Needless to stay we will not be staying there ever again!Sincerely,Burks

If negative stars were available that's where I'd be. Someone said this place doesn't deserve a plus on the Best Western, they don't deserve a BW bage at all!READ ON OR RUN THE OTHER WAY.Asked for room facing parking: got a room facing a roof.Asked to move, and they said no other rooms available.Asked to match Best Western online they said no. Huh?When I asked for another room, even if it were more $, desk lady said first, they couldn't because I used 3rd party. NO, I booked with other desk lady. Took 3 different ladies from back room to figure 1 room with 5 cars in the lot.Came and said what lot do you want to face? Any, is better than a roof, and i said it was essier to move the truck than the room. Suddenly a room was available. Discovered faced tiny lot we couldn't park in.Husband went back to desk and they asked why we wanted to face the lot, as if I were their business. Finally he caved and said because our dog was in the truck (where he sleeps 260 nights a year) and she said we couldn't have the dog in the truck. WHAT? Just a whole cluster and an idiot staff. We left and WE slept in the truck!!!

Great hotel. Easy check in & out. Dog friendly. Easy off & on the freeway. Walls aren't very thick on the 4th floor. We could hear the people in the next room quite clearly. Our heater spitted & sputtered all night..no fan in the bathroom.Nearby activities: Hotel is pet friendly so I was able to take my dog. It was a trip down the elevator from the 4th floor..around the hallway to a door leading out to an area for dogs to potty..I asked at check in for a room with easy access to take my dog in & out & I was given a room on the 4th floor almost at the back of the hall..good thing I & my dog are physically able to walk this distance. I was charged a $30 pet deposit for each night but after checkout it was fully refunded. My dog enjoyed herself.Walkability: Lots of areas to walk too..easy in & out of the hotel. This time of years it's nippy to be walking at night.Food & drinks: Steakhouse..deli..Mel's Diner..coffeehouse..several bars & bands playing..I got a free drink & I ordered a bloody Mary. It came in a very small glass..it was awful..I didn't drink it..so spicy hot..I didn't ask for spicy. My friend ordered a Tequila Sunrise..she also said hers was awful. No taste..too much orange juice not much liquor..we will go to a different bar next time.Noteworthy details: It's great that the hotel is pet friendly.

Mel's Diner is great. Tried dinner and breakfast there during our stay. The hotel room was mediocre. The bed was very hard, as were the available chairs. Wanted to try the buffet, but it was closed for some reason. The casino included a Fun Center for the kids, that includes a beautiful Carousel. Nice touch. And no cigarette smoke in the Fun Center.
