I have never met someone as dedicated and empathetic to dogs as Tonda is. We have a 13 year old somewhat dog-aggressive terrier mix and we decided to try out her boarding facility after having bad luck with other sitters. I couldn't believe how happy and relaxed our (usually anxious) dog was when we picked her up!! And she had a chance to SAFELY socialize with other dogs in a way that allowed her to be curious but also set her boundaries. Even after so many years with my dog, I feel like I learned so much about her behaviors through Tonda. She's definitely our first choice anytime we need to board our pup!

Tonda and staff took wonderful care of my two fur babies, Tula and Tiva when I went for 5 days to my son's wedding. When Tiva, who is 15, was feeling a bit stiff from older age, Tonda took the time to call me and let me know and if it would be ok to give her a med that would help with her situation. It helped Tiva move better. Tonda has been so helpful with the scheduling and her care for our pups. I will take my pups there as long as she is in business because she really cares about each and everyone. Thank you Tonda and staff.

Tonda held private trainings at her facility for our 4 month Bernese Mountain Puppy and has been helping with some behavior modification with our 2 year Labrador covid puppy. Overall, it has been a great experience with so much valuable information on puppy training and dog behavior. She is very knowledgeable about dogs and really listens to the owners concerns. Would 100% recommend!

Dog training with Professional Dog Mom is just a fabulous experience all around. My pup and I both enjoy going to our sessions...the place is welcoming and friendly, and Tonda is a true professional who is clearly passionate about what she is doing, and cares about your dog's journey. Every dog is different I'm sure, but as for my boy Sam, the results have been amazing! He responds well to all her methods so far; and perhaps more importantly I have learned so much about what makes my dog tick and what I can do to train him myself. I highly recommend some one-on-one sessions with Tonda, they are worth every penny!

Tonda is WONDERFUL! We boarded our four year old German Shepard Dog, Koda, for the first time while going on a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe. Tonda took the time to get to know him, ask us questions, and went the extra mile to help him and help us be better pawrents! We had access to the doggy cam and were able to check on Koda throughout our time away. We took a training class with Tonda which left us speechless regarding the knowledge and care she has for the dogs. Koda wanted to go back to the site with Tonda because he felt comfortable with her (speaks volume about a what a wonderful experience he had with her). Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better boarding and training experience. We are grateful for Tonda at Professional Dog Mom. THANK YOU!

We have taken several classes with her and couldn't be happier with what we see happening in our home as a result. I work in south Reno, but lived in Stead. Because of this, and activities that kept me from going home right away, my pup was in my apartment without a break for more time than I was comfortable with.After a little bit of research, I decided the contact PDM for a visit to take my pup out for a walk to help break up the day, and did not regret anything throughout the entire process. Tonda, and her staff are absolutely wonderful, extremely respectful, and easy to work with. I will highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for nanny services. You will not be disappointed in the quality of service you get. Worth every cent.

Absolutely wonderful doggy daycare for pets you really love and want to make sure are in excellent hands. I was looking around for different dog boarding/daycare centers to leave my 12yr old, separation anxiety ridden pug. I called a couple others before calling Tonda, the utmost Processional Dog Mom I've ever met. One center sent me to voicemail, to which I got a call back way later and told them he's already been taken care of. That place did happen to be my first choice based on the pictures I saw online. The second google search I called answered quickly and didn't exactly state that it was actually a daycare center on the ground floor of the Hard Rock Hotel. I didn't want to leave my dog in one big room with other dogs and no privacy so I told them I would have to look for a more suitable place. It was definitely more expensive than Tonda's service and NOT AT ALL as specialized and caring as Tonda's either based on the description of the hotel's service. My third inquiry was to the actual Dog Mom, and with an assessment over the phone, I was able to drop him off at 6:30am the next morning and picked him up by 9pm which was a little extra for extended daycare time. She kept in touch with me throughout the day thru text and left an update of how my dog was doing upon request thru voicemail. There is access to video footage of the area that your dog will be in and she really BABYSITS as if the pet is an actual child, which (to many pet parents) are considered our actual children. I can't rave more about the level of attention and care Tonda provided for my completely stressed and anxious 12 yr old pup. Anytime I'll be in Tahoe and in need of doggy daycare, I'll be coming back here to support this excellent, independent, and local business.

I will admit I'm a little paranoid about who we leave our dog with, but I would not hesitate to leave him with Pro Dog Mom again.The facilities are clean, and the staff go above and beyond. They clearly care and know a lot about dogs. They kept track of when he pottied so that too long didn't go between potty breaks and made sure all the dogs that played together got along.The owner is also a dog behavioralist which is super cool. She made sure she knew all relevant info about our bundle of energy and when we took him back the next day he was so excited he started singing and rushed to get inside. 10/10 would go again

I don't often write reviews but wanted to share our experience boarding our dog here for 2 days over the weekend while we skied. Previously we took him to Tahoe Best friends where he had a lot of fun but seemed very unstructured (no rest times, kind of room full of dogs situation). I found Pro Dog Mom and thought it would be better for where he's at (1 year old exuberant Husky puppy). When I arrived they told me they had canceled my reservation because I was an hour later for drop-off than I had stated on their online system several days before. Would have been nice to receive a phone call if this was an issue, but no worries they still took him. When we picked him up the first day Tonda strongly suggested we use a head halter for him and gave us a demo of him using it around the parking lot and said she had used it with him all day. I'm not a slacker dog owner and I appreciate input but I really didn't think this was necessary as our dog does pretty good on leash collar walking and it isn't a pressing matter of safety if he occasionally pulls (he is a husky puppy). Using a harness like this without owners consent rubs me the wrong way even though I am open to this idea. When we picked him up the second day I was told that he didn't play with any dogs as there were only two other dogs being boarded and they weren't suitable to play with him. This is unforgivable to me. They also said he had separation anxiety because he was vocalizing in the room they kept him. I know that he doesn't have separation anxiety. He isn't missing me or other humans, he is bothered by hearing other dogs nearby and not being able to play with them.I don't think this is a bad place I just really think they miss the whole point of dog boarding. They seem to be not concerned with whether dogs are having fun. This might work with different dogs or breeds but it does not make sense for our dog. I want to go have fun and ski and know that my dog is having a fun time. Our dog is very dog-oriented and playing with other dogs for him is the highest reward. I expect that taking him to doggie daycare he will get to play with other dogs. I would never take him back here again.

This service company is far greater than simply dog walking. When I work an extended day, I know that my two year old, very active heeler, will receive the personal attention he needs to be a well mannered, taken care of, good-boy. I recommend Pro Dog Mom in the best possible way. This service is a very valuable asset in my life, and PDM has raised the bar in pet care, by being fully responsible and professional with the care of my furry family member.
