If you’re looking for a fancy place after skiing in South Lake Tahoe, I would highly recommend booking edgewood restaurant. We went right before sunset, and they seated us at a table that directly faces the mountains and lake. It was a gorgeous view! The service here is also impeccable and everyone is very niceOnto the food:Foie gras sauté - this one is just okay, the portion felt small compared to the price and the pear overpowered the tasteRoasted duck risotto - this tasted amazing! Everything from presentation, portion to taste was 10/10. We both really enjoyed the taste and texture of this dishSmoked elk loin - I got it rare and really enjoyed it. The black barley added a nice texture, the meat itself was tender.Lobster ravioli with black truffle - the dish was slightly salty but otherwise super tasty. I really like the combination of the sauce, truffle, and lobsterDessert - golden delicious - highly recommend this if they still have it! Super delicious and easily one of the best dishes of the nightThey also have a decent cocktail and an extensive wine list. The two cocktails we got were just okay, nothing spectacular.

Decent food, good service. The scallop apertizer was good. The brazino was delicious, with skin on, crispy, excellent sauce. Recommended. The elk loin was kind of tough even with medium rare, a bit more sauce maybe be better. Husby said the fillet mignon was good. The restaurant was beautiful but it was quite warm, I keep feeling the hot air blowing up where I sat.

Eating here is a really rare experience. I drove an hour from Palisades Tahoe and it was the best hour I ever spent. It’s not just the food the absolutely phenomenal, if you can believe it is one upped by some of the best service I’ve ever held pleasure to experience…even at Michelin starred restaurants. Competing with the food was the wine pairings. Which weren’t just a money grab they stood on their own as great wines but the pairings took the flavor profile of the wine and food to the next level. You have a team of people waiting on you and they all deserve the highest recognition but the head waitress is Nancy and you really should ask for her.

Absolutely delicious meal. This is "fancy dinning" where you'll spend $100+ per person. The atmosphere is beautiful. I was there for sunset and it was beautiful. The waiter & the other servers were very attentive and made the experience personal. The experience was worth the price and I would go back.Vegetarian options: I only saw 1 vegetarian entree, a couple salads without seafood or meat, and a soup without meat or seafood.Parking: Parking at the restaurant is only valet.

I visited this restaurant for brunch, hoping to enjoy a satisfying meal. However, I was disappointed by the lack of breakfast options and the poor quality of the food like only 2 or so meat options. The sausages were dry, the bread was over toasted, and the eggs were watery. The only redeeming features were the fresh desert options and the Alpen sierra coffee, which was the best I ever had. The service was overall nice but could be a bit better, as I had to ask for silverware multiple times. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good brunch experience but definitely for a good water view and coffee.Kid-friendliness: Nice place to bring your kids as well.

Decided to make a last minute reservation at Edgewood for my bachelor party on Friday evening at sunset. The ambience of the dining area is high-class with giant glass windows with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. This alone makes the experience worth it.The food was decent, the branzino I ordered was delicious. Some of the lads’ steaks were overcooked (almost well-done for a medium rare), but decided to work their way through it. The cocktails were delicious, I recommend the mezcal/pineapple one. The whiskey sour and pepinos were also pretty good. This is a good spot for parties of 2-4. Parties larger than that may have trouble getting a reservation unless they do it weeks out.Great experience for me. The view and ambience alone is worth it.

At the Edgewood, appearances are deceiving. While I don't expect huge portions, at $100+ per person, I hope to be well-fed. So I don't understand why some up-scale restaurants like the Edgewood think, "The higher the price, the smaller the portion." The Caesar salad was tasteless and didn't have enough lettuce to satisfy a gerbil. The single serving of 3 pieces of bread was never refilled. My wife's halibut was small and tasteless; three bites into it she says, "We should have gone someplace else." I was unfortunately thinking the same thing. My tenderloins were delicious, but, accompanied by two potato servings the size of my thumb, left me wanting more. The chocolate souffle was good but doesn't merit the five star price. The service was fine, but unremarkable. The food, like the sunset, looked great, but also like the sunset, was gone all too soon. Look at other reviews in-depth, and you'll see most of them rave about the location and a goodly number find the food wanting. I wish I'd read more reviews in depth beforehand. Behind the high dollar menu is a chef who needs to find a job in a diner. The Edgewood is more concerned with appearances than substance. Not surprisingly, the wait person said most guests are visitors, not local. Don't go unless you like paying premium prices for a view and mediocre food. It was an anniversary dinner we hope to forget. We will not be back.

Gorgeous restaurant, amazing ambiance, we were given a private room for our larger party but I’ve gotta be objective about the food. Nothing seemed to be seasoned besides the pork chop. I was greatly underwhelmed by 99% of the food here. Our service was awesome, he definitely upsold us on apps and drinks and he did a great job. But I can’t justify the food at any price. I had the salmon and it wasn’t even salted. A buddy next to me got the expensive lobster tagliatelle and it was as bland as could be.

The restaurant has an incredible view of the lake, paired with a beautiful dining room. Service is superb as the staff are friendly and very welcoming. Great ambience with light background music.Food wise, it's well plated but tasted pretty average for the price. Would recommend for the overall dining experience as service was exceptional with an incredible view.

Service was good, host was great, food was pretty bad. Great atmosphere, and the views of Lake Tahoe are awesome. Shout out to Tray for hooking it up with the booth facing the lake, tried to find him before and after the meal to take care of him for that. Respond with contact details and I got a Venmo for him! Still won't be back because of the subpar food. Black truffle must have been a month old. Basically a paperweight at that point.

The only thing this place has going for it is the view. It’s a romantic environment and a quiet place for an intimate dinner on the water. The dessert was also great. However they put styrofoam in my boyfriends drink by accident and my lobster pasta was extremely bland. The French onion soup was just okay and same with the Cesar. They also forgot to start us with bread and brought it out at desert apologizing. Very expensive for very mediocre food (even though it looks pretty). They comped us an extra drink and a dessert but still. Waiter was friendly and views were nice (even saw someone get engaged outside) but maybe just go for dessert at sunset.

A true fine dining experience in a spectacular location! The steak was mediocre, I don't recommend it, but all the other food we had was absolutely superb and unique. All the staff were extremely attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. The building is beautiful and the view is incredible and stunning.Parking: Parking is valet only and is included at no extra charge.

We wanted to love this place but were very disappointed. Reservation was at 7, we weren’t sat until 7:20. Took even longer for our waitress to come over and take our drink and appetizer order. She was nice but spoke so softly that we could barely understand her. The charcuterie plate was laughable and not a scrap of cheese was on the plate.I ordered the filet mignon and my friend ordered the steak duo, medium for me and medium rare for her. Her steak was under rare and mine was rare to medium rare. Highly disappointed when you’re paying over $60 for a plate of food that majority of it was inedible. And yes, we could’ve said something but at this point we had been at the restaurant almost two hours and didn’t have the time to deal with refiring our steaks. The stars are for the location and ambience only. We missed the sunset over the lake since we were sat later than planned and that was a huge bummer. I wouldn’t come back here for anything other than drinks and the view.

The restaurant is beautiful. Panoramic views of the lake. It was the perfect place for dinner on 4th of July. After we were done, we walked out to the private lawn, grabbed two foldable chairs and watched the fireworks from the lakeside. It was great to only have about 30 people out there, with plenty of room and a great view. The steelhead trout appetizer was tasty. It’s completely raw and smoke infused. The Cesar salad was small and with some type of light oil as it’s dressing. The French onion soup uses Gruyère cheese instead of mozzarella, I think I’d prefer the mozzarella. The service was great from the hostess to our server. Other servers would help out too, which I love when they work together.

Visited the Bistro today The location of the resort is unbeatable and the bistro is in a prime location with an amazing view of the lawn and lake. The waiter and hosts were amazing and very attentive. Most food was good, a tad overpriced for the taste and amount, but the atmosphere makes up the cost. I would recommend getting a reservation if a group more than 4. Wonderful experience overall.

Exquisite food and view of Lake Tahoe. Phenomenal chef specials who catered to my vegan gluten free diet including an aquafaba dessert last year. So delicious! This year a refreshing sorbet. Aaron was our server this year ‘23 and he is stellar, our most favorite ever! Both my husband and I highly recommend this restaurant especially for special occasions! Guaranteed you’ll enjoy your experience!

Food was excellent and overall service was really good. Valet was a nice touch and we got to walk around the area before dinner. The atmosphere was good minus the crying baby next to us. Overall service was in-line with expectations but the server wasnt 100% certain at first which items had nuts in it and asked the chef (should probably be on the menu). Finally we noticed that the 7.1% tax was also applied on a 20% automatic gratuity amount, which is usually not the norm. While I’m okay with it, the rest of the group was not as amused after they did the math. Overall would recommend though and would come back to try the bistro too!

Food was good but not great. I get that you are paying a premium for the view, but the lobster chowder was very bland, scallops were chewy and 2 for $28, and the lobster pasta was meh. The French onion soup and elk were both very good, though the cook on the elk was a little uneven in some spots. The main reason for 5 stars on this review was the service, which was super attentive. Neo was very quick and professional, zipping around to multiple tables filling waters and providing assistance. We had a pregnant woman in our party who was feeling unwell, and the staff/management responded quickly and were very accommodating.Great service and view, food was good but could benefit from a few minor improvements.

Wonderful evening and dinner, with Mother, Sister and Wife. My wife and I have dined here, at Brooks and Edgewood Fine Dining, maybe 25 times now, and have always really enjoyed this property. Right from start, Grant with Valet Service greeted us kindly and warmly, opened front door and showed us to Photo Wall, providing some great commentary on History. Ryan at Bar was very gracious and prepared 2 Excellent Himalayan Cocktails, flat delicious. April at Bistro reception was extremely accommodating, she let me pick our Table out and waived the corking fee as we were frequent guests. Stephanie and Alondra provided an exceptional, engaging, professional and beautiful dinner service all evening. We ordered the Pork Chop with a Cider Glaze, Green Beans and Marbled Potatoes, Halibut Beurre Blanc with Forbidden Black Rice, another Halibut with Horseradish Mash, and a Lobster Tail. Everything was really outstanding, beautifully prepared and delicious.A very beautiful property and wonderful setting for special occasion's. Thank you Edgewood Bistro staff !!

Party of 3 for an early dinner. Waitress was Karen and she was a joyful, kind person. Great job Karen! Beautiful ambience. Hardly anyone here. Cold outside but nice and toasty inside. Ordered the Bao Buns with pork belly, kimchi, and crab. Everything tasted so well. Ordered the clamps chowder, it is honestly one of the best I've had!!!The short rib was falling apart, so tender and juicy, full of flavor. The filet mignon was extremely salty. It was cooked perfectly was just salty. Karen offered a new dish but we decided just to keep it. Lori, the manager came to check on us and offered a dessert for the salty dish. We ordered the apple pie for dessert, once again....so delicious! The crumb is perfectly crunchy and tasteful. Emanuel was our busser and we never had a dirty dish on our table. Constant refills. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area, local or not. The valet men are polite and very friendly.
