We adopted the most wonderful dog from the Lyon county animal shelter in 2008 who we had for 15 years. Best dog ever! Keep up the good and live saving work!

Customer service means everything to me as a life long public servant as they call us. I left a msg at animal services this morning. I DID NOT expect a call back, but in less than an hour I recieved a callback from a very pleasant lady named Suzanne. Thank you Suzanne for making my first contact with Animal Services a pleasant one. First contacts set the tone for everything that follows!

This animal shelter is very nice very clean & organized, absolutely give it a 5 star, not just bcuz it's nice clean,& which not but bcuz the staff members/ a staff member that I met 2 as well she defiantly deserves a 6 star rating as well, unprofessional that I was,& did not abtain her name,she is short (kinda),,dark hair,"I believe"(,DNT member length,or rather it had curls or just was straight,)"NOT TOO SURE" I DO LMOW SHE WAS A YOUNG LADIE,VERY PRETTY,WANT 2 SAY W/GLASSES, SKINNY,& PATIET,ANYWAYS,WILL GO BACK & GET HER NAME,I WOULD LIKE TO BLAST IT ALL OVER THE REVIEW PAGE IF POSSIBLE........... ********2~B~CONTINUED~**********. I visited the shelter. Very nice, clean, the officers are very nice to talk to. We went to see about adopting another baby but our Millie was just to wild excited, couldn't settle down. The dog we were going to get was scare.

These people are the most incompetent, biased, and racist people I have ever met. They are rude and extremely unprofessional. Overall the lack customer service skills and human decency. They will look over the blatant facts in order to put your dog in the worst situations. They will label your FAMILY dog as “aggressive” simply to get your hard earned money into their pockets. The have no desire to be honest, genuine, or even decent for that matter. They are selfish and inconsiderate. Don’t let this shelter deceive you. They all were masks to gain your trust. If you want an honest adoption experience where you will deal with angel hearted people, go to the humane society or Douglas county. Going to this shelter will do nothing but waste your time and question your faith in humanity. And if for whatever reason you do go, ensure you get anyone but Anna. Suzanne is going to be your best choice though. She is one of the only ladies there that is compassionate and actually cares.The best part, is when you call them out for their wrong doings, they do nothing but deny it. They responded by trying to make it seem as though I was in the wrong. They also shared private information (which isn’t even accurate but they had no care to ask for the honest side of the story). Do what you will with this feed. I shared about their customer service, they just tried to bash me.

Not recommended! We tried to adopt and they refused... because one of the ladies was on vacation and couldn't say goodbye for 4 more days. We were over qualified to adopt this dog!!! It broke our hearts, but we adopted a beautiful dog and the dogs best friend a beautiful white cat!

Wow, where to begin. This shelter is clean, friendly, & knowledgeable. The staff works in the best interest in the animals, which they should and it it shows. They try to work with dogs, owners and more to make sure that everyone will be happy, human and fur. They truly take time with each dog to understand their needs to help find their Furever homes. We thank them for helping us find 3 of our amazing dogs. Yes there were some that didnt work when we went but you didnt give up.They are such an amazing fit to our family. Thank you for the work you do.Seeing all of these dogs that are loose on FB groups and your always slammed but kind, & friendly. You work in a high stress job but you are fair and kind.

Huge KUDO's to the shelter and their employees for taking care of 9 borzoi whose owner had died. The shelter is overflowing and they did not have room for any more dogs but they made room for these precious souls. National Borzoi Rescue Foundation is forever thankful

The young lady was very friendly. I asked if they had kittens or cats. Answer was, no. But she was nice and gave me a number of a rescue place for cats

The staff was very accommodating. Unfortunately, they only have dogs and we were looking for kitties. Most of the dogs were pits, but they had a couple of interesting breeds. The facilities we're clean.

It's a very confusing website didn't get me at all to where I was trying to go. I was looking for my dog and it felt like forever before I could view the animals that they had caught. Even then it only showed me animals ready to be adopted initially and I had to start over again. Ended up calling them in the end.

These guys are awesome lost my blue heeler, I called them left my info once someone called they called me right away. Then I need my dog chipped and they were so excited to meet him after our little fiasco.

Very nice no-kill shelter. You can tell that the staff cares about their charges. They actually had a dog that had been there for a year, that says a lot about them.
