It is off-season, so we were pretty much alone. It is very remote, but that makes it quiet. If you want up to date rooms, this isn't the place for you. If you want to watch TV, this isn't the place for you. But, the accommodations were in working order and clean. We ate at the cafe and had great food. Even though it's only open on the weekends. The staff were very nice. We enjoyed hearing the coyotes at night. I'd come back off-season.Nearby activities: There's a great Denny's in Searchlight. We recommend taking a trip to Nelson and the Hoover Dam. We also enjoyed the casinos in Laughlin.

This review pertains only to the RV “resort”.My wife & I have been RV’ing for over 45 years and this is the first and only time we have pulled into a place and turned right around and left. The place was a mess and seemed like a ghost town. The signage to locate the RV park and the office/registration was nonexistent. It took us 15 minutes to locate someone to find our spot. The website said check-in was 4:00 but everyone left at 3:00. We didn’t even check the showers/bathrooms. Don’t waste your time going here.

My family of 5 have stayed at the hotel many times over a 20+ period. We have had tons of fun and made many many memories we will never forget. I would give a 5 star everytime but I do have one small complaint. It’s hard to say “complaint” but it’s more of an irritation. The trash around the cove is an issue for me. I know the wind blows and trash builds up no matter how hard one tries to keep it picked up, but when it’s Sunny with no wind and your want to chill by the lake and you gotta move the trash aside or step over it to go in the water it’s not very nice. It’s gross and a definite eye sore. Other then that, it’s awesome!

Cottonwood Cove… well it definitely seen better days, the upper campsites are complete deserted, and nobody has camp there for years. The pictures that are shown are not the same, the beach smells of dead fish and there’s trash EVERYWHERE. The trees and bushes look so sad. There is no camp host and the “Cop” is too busy and rude to have anything to say. The campsites that are useable are tucked into a cannon. Those aren’t well kept, for $20 a night would to fine if it looked nice BUT honestly it could be $5 a night. I would have better luck parking at a Walmart. The guy that owns it should stop being so money hungry and start updating the property.

Stayed in the “cove” single wide trailer: falling apart, not terribly clean, beds saggy. We found a dead scorpion in a coffee cup in the cabinet. Our family stayed in the motel which has no kitchen and no one warned us the restaurant would only be open on the weekends. Friends stayed in the RV park, no complaints. We rented a slip for our boat, docks and launch are in good condition.

We rented a houseboat for the weekend, the pictures are deceiving and so are the prices.First off the pictures of the inside of the boat show to be nice and clean, I understand the boats are fairly old, but the couches are completely destroyed and warned off. Spiders and bugs everywhere, (I’m talking about in the stained bed sheets, pillows and all over the walls) I understand it’s outdoors but why don’t they spray something for the bugs? One of the main reasons we rented a houseboat was to have the AC and it was not working well, sweating all night! and neither was the fridge ( a lot of our food went bad)The grill was missing parts so we had to wait for them to bring us what was missing to be able to start grilling. At last just know they will charge you a lot for fuelWe used less than a full tank of fuel on the boat and was charged $700 so just add that to your total. The workers where very nice and helpful, but for the price of everything it should or at LEAST been in better cleaning / working conditions.

I blew a tire on the way down and near tire off my rim. Felt stuck and limited service I asked the counterlady (hope that is a term) and she quickly jumped up and tracked down Rex who was just outside. Rex proceeded to give me the number of my savior mohave powersports. Made it home thanks to Rex and quick support from my favorite place which my mother and I are her bout 30% of the yearly weekends. I like cottonwood from beginning to end great people. In the end... maybe my favorite place on the map. Love you all. Keep visiting.

We had literally the best day ever!!!I forget the men's names... the guy that was inside the office, and then the one that helped us out on the dock(with the tattoos ). Wanted to give a shout out to the one that helped us onto the boat but we forget his name! We loved him!!Both were super kind and informative!

We only stay on the beach, for the day. Never rented anything here. With that said...Not that far of a drive from Vegas, current doesn't try to pull you out and for the most part, it's clean, bathrooms are but it miss, depending on the time of day 😑. Me n hubs grab our chairs and floating cooler and sit in the water, lovin the calmness of the surroundings, until 1 pm hits and your bombarded with the sounds of over blaring music (don't understand why they do that), screaming kids, roaring engines and drunk patrons. I'll take the last 3 over the music tho.Still, we love coming out and enjoying the river. Shade trees are limited and full of gnats so don't forget your umbrella/canopy and sun block...

We have kept this place secret for years. We owe it to Rex and his team to write this review and tell people how great it is! They rent boats, jet skis and more have cool beaches to hang out and boat launch and gas station. When we arrived they have a fleet of new boats on the lot ready to hit the water. The beaches aren't crazy busy like in other areas we have visited. There are 2 sections one for guest and one for general admissions. There is room for improvement, but with the current situation and the remote location they do an awesome job.The boat we used was clean, had a brand new grill full of propane. The radio could be upgraded but we had a blast anyway. Make sure to make reservations ahead of time. There are these curtesy loading wagons that make it easier to carry your stuff in 110 degree heat

We were at Cottonwood Cove 9/24/22 and left on 9/26/22. I still love the clear water and Colorado River. However, The Cottonwood Cove Hotel has changed hands from Forever Resorts and it's gone down hill really bad. They don't mow the lawn front or back. The parking lot has a huge hole where there is just dirt and needs to be replaced. There is only sand in places by the patio where lawn use to be. Big signs so you can't put up shades by the waters edge down from the hotel patio. In addition the prices are ski high $148.00 a night. The Cafe is only open on weekends. They did get new rubbermaid carts that are really nice.

Had a fabulous week on the lake!! Our 1st time getting a house boat at this Marina as we usually go to Lake Powell. We were shocked to find that this Marina caters so well to guests. If you are Within a reasonable distance of the Marina and you need toilet paper or ice or Someone is joining your party they will bring it out to you via boat. That was fantastic! Doug and Rex were the best! Doug took our house boat in-and-out of the Marina and Rex came out to fix our prop and also brought somebody out who was joining our party midweek. You guys are excellent employeesAnd represent your company well! Thank you guys for going above and beyond! We would definitely rent a house boat from here again.

We stayed at the hotel last week and I gotta say, what a dump! They get a lot of money for the rooms and being lakefront is awesome, however, our room had sand on the floor. (not cleaned I guess from previous guests) there was a large patch on the ceiling and lots of stains on the ceiling. The air in our friends room didn't work well at all. (wouldn't go above 86 degrees) Every single cart, to move your luggage around, was broken, mostly wheels, but handles too. They even made you bag all your linens before you left. They would not give us our room key until 4 pm sharp. (We ask at 3:51pm)

Was dropping off a package for a friend before some weirdos in Roman cosplay captured and CRUCIFIED me.That being said it was a very scenic locale. All the same I'd really recommend Red Rock Canyon.

On my way to cottonwood cove I stumbled upon these strangely dressed men who for some reason asked for me to state my own business, I of course told them I was a wandering trader and they allowed me in. While visiting this place I met this guy named Aurelius of Phoenix and Decanus Severus, nice people really...gave me some bottle caps for some kind of dog tags. 10/10 would visit again

Took our boat for a ride from Kathrine landing to Cottonwood cove. Was disappointed that the cafe wasn't open. They are still trying to hire employees from Covid -19 as everyone else is. Had a conversation with a nice young man named Ryan. He went over some things as we hadn't been there for a few years other than gassing up the boat. He was very Respectfully and pleasant to speak with. Everyone we encountered was polite and nice.

Beautiful place. Although check in is at 4pm which were were aware of. The lady that worked at the store Sat evening didn't have to be rude. We were in line at 3:50pm. A customer asked what we were waiting for? She said to check in and check in is at 4 not 3:59. At 4. We were all waiting patiently. She didn't have to be rude about it. The room looked clean but if you walked barefoot. Your feet turned black and there were spiders and webs everywhere. The cafe closed at 5:00 pm. Which was odd considering that is usually dinner. The store then closed and there was no one around. A family was locked out of there room and was freaking out because everything was closed. I peaked through the store doors and happened to see a lady. She then called for help. This is a beautiful place but just come extra prepared because everything closes early. We paid for 2 days but left a day early.

Tons of potential, but I feel like the resort could spend a lot more resources keeping the swim beaches cleaner. The swim beach was covered in trash. Also there was stinky mud and overgrown algae all along the swim beach area, ( yes I realize that's natural, but not what you're looking for when trying to enjoy a beach at a resort) It would take someone 10 minutes tops a day to clean it out but it seems like nobody cares to. Besides that, the store was great, the motel was clean, the docks were well kept and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

If their were more stars I'd click all of them! 10/10 would recommend. I've been going since I was born. It is almost never crowded, water is always a nice temp. The beaches are amazing! The little cafe in the marina is awesome! Te store their has everything you need! My family always goes to stay in the motel in Searchlight instead of the one by the lake, nothing bad with the one on the lake at all. We just prefer the one in Searchlight, its cheaper! Definitely need to check it out!

We rented a houseboat 1 week before Memorial Day weekend. Had a fantastic time on the river ! Everything was perfect. Very few boats on the water, nice temperatures. If you haven't been here before expect the water to be cool to cold. Even in the middle of summer @ 110 degrees the river water is cool/cold. BUT, it's very refreshing ! Be careful of hypothermia !Maps of river are deceiving... What looks like and are named coves are really just inlets. You're just off the main river out of the current. You'll save hundreds of dollars by reserving a houseboat before the Memorial Day weekend. (The start of summer for the area and rates go higher) AND you'll experience much, much less people on the lake or in any of the coves. It's very serene and quiet away from the crowds and you'll experience star filled skies on nights with no clouds.Very little wildlife is seen and you'll only hear the resident birds and splash of a few fish on the water. No bullfrogs, crickets or other usual night sounds.

I’m surprised this place has even close to 4 stars. This has been an extremely terrible experience with boat rental. Was sent an email close to 9 pm the night before stating they predict winds to be up to 34 MPH and they couldn’t allow their boats out. It offered cancellation, reschedule, or come in person to see if winds were lower than 30MPH. No way to contact them as the office was closed. No way to contact in the morning until they opened. We meticulously monitored the wind and forecast leading up to the trip and the government website NOAA forecasted winds at 18-22 MPH with gusts to 28 MPH. I drove 5 hours from Ely, NV with my 13 year old son to have a guys trip and get on some bass. When I arrived 15 minutes before 8 per their instructions, there was 1 guy to assist everyone renting boats. Finally got to the desk after waiting 30mins and flat out was told they wouldn’t let the boats out due to windy conditions expected. Wind was measuring 11mph at the time with forecasted gusts to 28. No apology, no offer, no empathy, no help whatsoever, no call back from management as I requested, no response to my voice mails, just a refund and another 5 hours to head back the way we came. Several hundred dollars in fuel and a weekend completely destroyed. I wish 0 stars could be selected. Save yourself a disaster and rent a boat somewhere else. I’ll be adding the same review to every online avenue I can find and will be making noise with the Better Business Bureau in hopes I save more people the debacle we encountered..

Awesome place!!! Clean, reasonably priced, great view!We got the 2 mobile homes "Cove and VIP" 4 days 3 nights and it was the best stay we've had at a lake. Now I'd suggest please replace the blinds at the Cove, improve the WiFi, spend a little on new furniture and you'll get 5 Stars. All and all it was great!!!

Love how rooms face the lake, nice patio n marina. Rooms are non-smoking but if your neighbor smokes out on the patio n u happen to be out there too you'll definitely get the smell. Lots of cobwebs along the ceiling n corners in our room, aside from that it was good.

The cafe is expensive but the only thing around. You get decent food. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, shakes and ice cream. Not many healthy options. There are boats to rent and a hotel/rev park and small store. The store is expensive but again it’s the only thing around. It’s cheaper to stock up in town before you head this way, but for the essentials the store is nice to have. The hotel is nice and right on the water. They have kayaks and canoes, jet skis, deck boats, fishing boats, and houseboats for rent. Price varies depending on what boat you get and for how long. Fuel for the boats is expensive (over $1 more per gallon than land fuel). Keep this in mind if you rent s boat just for the day.The staff is very nice and helpful at all locations.

We visited the beach during the holidays and it was great! Plenty of places to relax and have a picnic. It was a holiday (Christmas eve) everything was closed and we were the only one. If it was busy (no idea how busy it gets) it could be a little crowed in the pavilion/concrete table area as there aren't a lot of seats. Bathrooms are close and parking lot is right next to beach and tables. Lots of beach area though, bring a wagon to haul stuff if possible. Nice fine sand as well.

This review is for their RV Park only...sites are extremely skinny, we couldn't put our slides out without touching our neighbors slide. Very uneven! Hard to level. Also, you are charged an extra $20 because it is on National Park Land. This on top of the $45 a night charge made this a never go back kind of place. The staff was very friendly though and it was quite beautiful when we took the short walk down to the water.
