Strictly reef has been a amazing resource for my husband and I getting started in fish keeping. The possibilities in the hobby are immense and the staff have all been wonderful in helping us with all of our questions (and there's been a LOT). An absolutely amazing store with just about everything you need and is more than happy to order anything you may want that they don't typically carry. Love this store and so glad we came in!

My honest review after going here for years and keeping fish for over a decade. While I can agree maybe Juan isn’t the best to deal with I really do back Michelle she is amazing and truly knows the hobby and cares. They always do me well with store credit and correct care info, while some prices on fish and hard scape are bit steep the prices on meds food plants etc are really good. The pure variety of fish both fresh and salt is awesome. This is if I’m not mistaken our last local fish store sierra aquatics fell off hidden cove never took off and we have big chains but that’s it.. support it while we have it! Truly an awesome store!

I came in with almost zero knowledge and they took the time to run me through everything I would need along with recommended brands. I learned a lot and got my whole setup that day. While I was there they were also helping people troubleshoot their water tests and stuff. Truly couldnt be any more helpful!!

Best fish store in town! They supply a wide variety of great fish & quality products, and they also have pretty knowledgeable staff. The manager Jessica has been around for awhile, she is always great for seeking informational advice about any fish / fishtank needs . she's pretty knowledgeable about alot of different things & is pleasant to speak with. Strictly Reef is Always my go-to for any fish & fish product needs.. 15 out of 10 I highly recommend, shop at a local small business beats the big box stores...

Juan has horrible customer service.and he threw away my fish that were still alive buttt also gave me dead fish from the start. And he was extremely rude to me and didnt even care that he threw my alive fish away. There were 2 dead ones and 1 alive and he GAVE me the 2 dead one. Don't ever deal with this guy he's not a good creature seller at all. And he rushes you as well doesn't make you feel comfortable just wants you out the store. Don't go hear AND DEAL WITH JUAN.

As a long time customer I can accurately say this is absolutely the best fish store in Reno. They offer great prices on fish, plants, corals and everything else you could need in the hobby. Even if you could find the product cheaper at a big box store the information and customer service makes strictly reef the only logical place to spend your time and money.

This place was awesome! I was just in the area and popped in. I didn't need anything but was in the parking lot in a bummed mood and decided to go in for a pick-me-up. Totally left feeling better. So many reef plants and fish. The woman there was attentive and promptly asked if I needed anything. I recommend this place to others.

Awesome place, great selection but their customer service is what brings me back, sometimes too often! Staff is extremely knowledgeable. If they don't have an answer for you, they will find one, usually from another highly knowledgeable employee.

Bought our whole tank and set up there everything was fine till we bought live plant then we got this stringy algea that we can't get rid of.....asked her for help and she basically just kept saying it was our fault and she had no advice or help... we have tried every solution on the internet from throwing everything put to buying everything new. Spending money over and over with no discounts or help from her, except for her saying we weren't keeping up with maintenance which is completely untrue it has taken over our lives. Nobody wants to look at an ugly tank. This Cleary came from her shop. BEWARE. Long time, sadly disappointed customers

They have a fantastic amount of fish and reptiles, even some hard to find ones. There's also so many plants, decorations, filters, anything you'd ever need for your aquarium or terrarium. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me learn how to set up my tank for future pets. The store is well organized, clean, and is wonderfully decorated. I highly recommend this place for anything fish, reptile, or amphibian related. Will be doing most, if not all, my shopping here from now on.

We got a spider pet that's settling in nicely! The staff is always helpful. My favorite thing is they aren't afraid to admit when they aren't knowledgeable about an animal. And they always point me to a person who is!

Employees were very knowledgeable with fish, especially with gear, I told the guy roughly what I needed and he immediately got exactly what I needed in less than a minute. The level of quality control in the store is also excellent and the fish are very affordable. Overall, great store with helpful employees and a nice selection of fish and equipment. Also the porcupine puffer they have is adorable.

5*! Finally found my go-to spot for freshwater fish. Selection is large and all the fish look healthy. I like the assortment of live plants that are offered as well as the other items including background scenes for aquariums, decorations incl both live and plastic. Driftwood in tons of sizes. Vitamins and nutrients for water and fishes both. Employees have been friendly and helpful. I was there on a busy Saturday and got acknowledged walking in. The store was busy, but the Employees were checking in with customers quickly. I've been back since and again received same attention. Prices are definitely affordable too. Good job STRICTLY REEF!

This place was breathtaking and refreshing. You can easily get lost in looking at all the Cool tanks and little ecosystems that they have created. I got a group of platy fish and they are doing great on their first day with me. Fish all looked healthy and happy. Definitely a great environment. I felt happy just being there!

Staff is knowledgeable, and friendly!We asked a ton of questions, and left comfortable with how to begin my new saltwater aquarium.Once our tank was ready, we went back and left with what we needed (fish and coral wise), and am now enjoying our first ever reef tank!Thank you for all your help!

Employees were more interested in unpacking boxes and not helping. Didn't help in picking the right fish, size tank etc. Didn't even ask about conditioning water, pH Or advise on how to feed them. Our fish died less than 24 hours...all 5 of them.Won't return or recommend

Absolutely love this place and their selection! They are such responsible and knowledgeable fish sellers! Super helpful and friendly. Never belittles. And don’t have to worry about them trying to give me a sales pitch that starts with “how big is your tank”. They’ve honestly given advice that has saved me money and that works for the experienced hobbyists. The type of advice a fish breeder would give.

As far as I know this is the only local fish store and it's definitely a good store. While the prices can vary from "wow that's cheap and a good deal" to "darn that's a bit too expensive for me" I'll still say the prices are worth it, especially considering it's a small local business and we should always support them. They have a huge wide selection of freshwater and saltwater although I think more on the freshwater side which is good for me. They offer food, supplies, equipment and probably other services I don't know. They do sell fish tanks although not that many, at least not that many on display to let you know they are selling tanks. The staff is always so friendly and they definitely seem acknowledge on the fish hobby.

We visit weekly. Always new fish to see and the most beautiful reefs. It is worth bringing the kids or just stopping by - like going to an aquarium. Knowledgable, friendly staff, more supplies than most stores and always clean, healthy tanks. Their expansion for reptiles is impressive. Lots of stock, accessories and critters. So glad we have this store in town.

Simply the best fish store I've ever gone to. Staff were so helpful, I came in to get plants for my first ever planted tank and the guy that helped me was awesome. Unfortunately I didn't catch his name, but I still highly recommend this place. I will be going there for all of my fish related needs from now on.

.5 and a 5. They have a decent variety of fish and tanks. Unfortunately, like most places the customer service was 2/3 lacking. 2 were almost zero help. But, one gut was at lunch, so can't blame him. The other guy didn't seem to want to be there........I wanted a starter kit. He asked the guy at lunch, got a small tank from a high shelf and walked off......the young lady, on the other hand, was excellent. Help with items I need, gave me options and advice. Perfect. I don't get it. Good luck...I'd wait for her to help u...the other 2 were utterly worthless.

Extremely knowledgeable staff and the best variety of fish and supplies I've seen! They also have a super cool "Finding Nemo" tank when you walk in. I purchased some guppies, a plant and some tetra there, and the guy that helped me gave me some floater plants for my tank for free. This is the only place I'll be getting my fish and supplies in the future.

Best aquarium store in town! I keep and breed freshwater fish and snails, and this is my go-to place to buy animals and supplies. They have a huge selection of fish, some rare and unusual species as well, and they are very healthy and well taken care of. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable. They also have a large selection of rocks, driftwood, and decor. I love this place!
