This place has been around for as long as I can remember. The owners are wonderful and are always willing to help if you have any questions. They're also very knowledgeable when it comes to exotic pets. Why go to PetSmart if you can support a conveniently located, locally-owned pet store?Exactly!!

My gf and I just got a guinea pig from here and had a fantastic experience. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. You can tell they genuinely care about the animals. P.S. the piggy bonded extremely well with our current one so thank you guys so much!

I wanted to get some rats as pets here and fortunately they do sell them, however they do have respiratory problems which I know is common in rats but it’s still something to know if you’re interested in getting your rats here

We called ahead looking for a companion for my daughter's guinea pig. A female answered and my daughter was told that they had three in hand. We're from out of the area, had a busy day, but we made time to get over there. Once we parked, the outside of the store reaked of beer. We walked in and an older couple was up front. They asked if they could help us. My daughter said she had called about the female guinea pigs and would like to see them. The gentleman was obviously taken aback and then stated, "the person you spoke to is known to be a drunk!" Both my daughter and I were blown away and just turned around and left. The store, from the few minutes we were there, was very crowded and smelled. I know animals smell, but if you keep cages clean, it shouldn't be that big of an issue. I know this place has been in business for years. I can only hope that they have not "given up" and the animals are being well cared for. I know we really didn't look around, but we weren't made to feel welcome either.

I don't usually write reviews, but felt it is necessary, I called ahead asking if they had female guniea pigs as my female's companion had just past and she was starting to get depressed, the lady on the phone said they had 3. I get there and the man behind the counter (I'm guessing owner or manager) said they only had males and that the lady I talked to has a drinking problem. I didn't even get to see the inside but it already made me nervous seeing all the cages stacked with animals. Makes me hesitant to try a place like this again

This is a very nice mom & pop shop! They have gorgeous animals and amazing customer service! I would recommend stopping by for you bird, dog, cat, or lizard needs.

Stopped to see if they had frozen mice for our snake. They do not. Wish they did because I really like to buy local and from small businesses. Bought some treats for my cat they had for 99 cents at the counter. (My cat loved the treat) . Very nice store. Hard to not leave with a baby hamster or Rat .

Cute small little pet shop. Greeted by the birds lol. Only pet store to have live feeder rats all different sizes. I have a ball python who is picky and would only eat live mice and he wouldnt switch to frozen rats. He was losing weight and still wouldnt budge. So I went here and got a small rat and the rats dont bite. Super friendly I almost wanted to keep it Haha. My snake had no issue with the rat either. The rats look clean as well. I strongly recommend this place for live feeder rats. Decent pricing too.

The employee be mind the counter was totally lacking in empathy compassion or even kindness her demeanor made me feel super unwelcome. having macaws is expensive I have the money for them I definitely will not be spending it in this place. I gave 2 stars only because they reccomended a great place. the parrot connection much better place if your looking for parrot things and nice employees who are willing to give you advice without making you feel like dirt.

I love their tags!!! They last forever, basically until my dogs lose them off their collars. The writing stays clear and legible. Service is super fast and everything arrives just as ordered. I am a huge fan and recommend them to all dog owners.

I’m surprised I even have to say this. Was in the area and needed crickets, and decided to pop in. My crickets were handed to me in a stapled paper bag. I thought maybe they were put in a smaller plastic bag on the inside. I got home and had to tear it open and crickets fell out, so I put the entire bag in the geckos cage and left it in there in hope that my gecko will get them all. Can’t wait to spend the next few hours trying to catch crickets around the house. Would literally rather spend a couple dollars more to just get crickets at Petco, because at least they would just use a plastic bag.Really wanted to like this place. Don’t expect to be greeted by anyone other than the birds there. The lady behind the counter didn’t sound thrilled to have anyone in the store.

I haves been going there for over 15 years, they did consolidate, but still have decent selection of birds, supplies. I only give them Two stars because of their customer service, no personality. Don't remember regulars like me.

The only place where I can buy live feeder rats and mice in my area since Petco stopped. The store has been local since I was around 13 years old, I am now 28. They use to have the cutest monkeys, now they seem to sort of calmed things down a bit here on a smaller scale. They have a few reptiles, rodents, and many birds. Food for pretty much any animal, and enclosures for any animal. They are always happy and ready to assist at a moments notice, I highly recommend giving these awesome people your business if you are in the Wells area.

Biggest live feeder mice in town!!! Watch out, they'll bite ya if they escape out of the box. Had a show down in the O'Reilly parking lot on the way home. Snakes sure loved them! Definitely will be back for more feeders.... wearing gloves 😉 lol 😆

This is the OG pet store of Reno. When I went to Merry Berry Pre-school we took a class field trip and walked here to buy dumbo rats for the class. I am 28 now and still check it out when I am visiting Reno. They use to have monkeys in the front window! Love this place.

My husband and I just moved to Reno in August and we needed a local pet shop to buy food for our leopard gecko. Our gecko had been very frail and thin even though we tried very hard to feed her the proper leopard gecko diet. As soon as we started buying crickets & worms from here she got full & super healthy. This is the healthiest she's ever been. We no longer go to Petsmart or Petco for food we come here to Pettin' Place. Our gecko loves your food!

Charging almost $200 for a normal ball python with stuck shed. Had a cinnamon as well and were asking $300. I'm sorry, but you can get a healthy normal ball python from one of the local breeders for $30-$50.

Great place and nice owner! I got a 12 week old lovebird and I’m in love with its little face! I would recommend this place to get any bird,mice,rats and all of that! Great price too!
