I absolutely love this place. The owner is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He is extremely knowledgeable about all birds. He also has a long history of raising birds as well. My husband and I have a one and a half year old Green Wing Macaw. Our two best friends also have macaws. We all vacation together at the same time so, we board all three of them there at the same time. These birds are definitely like our children, they are very spoiled and well taken care of. I admit I was nervous the very first time I left my bird there, not because of anything other than I have never left her with anyone. I am always pleased every time I drop her off or come pick her up. The Green Wings are the second largest of the Macaw family, and I always have her out and perched most of the day and not cooped up in her cage when at home. When she is boarded they always take her out and mimic what she is used to at home. She is a very sweet bird and loves attention, and she gets that each and every time she is there. I don't know what we would do without this business in our community for all of us bird lovers. I would highly recommend this place.

There are not enough words in the dictionary to even describe how appreciative and wonderful The Parrot Connection has been to this community mid~town! One of my loves is birds , African Gray parrot to be precise..Bill. bill was purchased by a different family however due to a death I was able to rescue this lovely creature! She came from Parrot Connection! We absolutely adore everything and anything thank you so much for being here for so long BilL was the human Penelope is the bird's name. I chose to keep the name Bill not Penelope ,in honor of her previous owner . If you're looking for a long-term relationship this is the place to go may God bless you and your family XoXoX 👪 🙏 ❤

I love Parrot Connection, and more importantly, my little bird loves it too. Absolutely wonderful staff, they treat the birds so well, and are kind and friendly to their human customers, too. My husband has many health issues, and we need to travel frequently for his care, so our little bird goes to Parrot Connection for boarding frequently and we always feel secure and calm that he will be taken care of just as we would.Beyond boarding, they have beautiful cages and toys, and good healthy bird snacks available: no matter what you need for your bird, absolute best place in town! Love them!

I boarded my macaw here for the weekend. I was nervous because I've never left her anywhere, but after just a few minutes inside, I felt at ease. There were probably 25 other birds there. My parrot likes to holler and the birds were all vocalizing and visibly content. The cages were clean and all of them had clean water and food. If you need a place to take your bird, this is it. Such a relief to feel comfortable leaving my parrot in someone else's care.

PSA If you board with Parrot Connection here in Reno, NV: If you call them to check in on your birds, this is what "They're doing great!" could mean.One of my birds had been plucking the other's feathers during the week they were boarded. When picking them up earlier today I was told "I just noticed this today" and "those should grow back no problem". So one of two things happened.1) They don't pay attention to birds they board, as this didn't happen over a single day / night or2) They simply don't careI've always advocated for this business since I bought my first bird with them almost 9 years ago now. However moving forward this is no longer a local business I will support. If you have birds, take them elsewhere as the employees here clearly do not care for the pets they house.

I love this store so much! I have spent a lot of time in the store recently bc we had to board our two birds ( pineapple green cheek and a turquoise Indian ring neck) while our house has been under construction after a flood.I have mostly spent time there while Mai has been working and she is truly the sweetest person! I’m so thankful for her knowledge and her compassion as we’ve gone through this time. Mai is exceptionally kind and sweet with our Birds and knowing she’s there looking after them is a big part of why we brought them to be boarded at Parrot Connection!

It's an amazing place where owners know a lot about parrots. During the time after the bird is hatched and till the day you can take your baby home. They will take care of him/her. And you can visit and spend time with new lovely member. They also provide bird sitting purposes and grooming for your bird as well. They have a variety of birds at the store that you can watch and admire.

Exceptional bird shop. I often board my conjure here as business takes me outta town from time to time. For 10 dollars a night you can't beat it. Not that I have too but usually bring along some of her favorite food namely chicken and eggs with salad and they will store in refrigerator. Mylynn is Exceptional with bird's and people highly recommended

I visited for the first time in years, and thought the store was well stocked with bird food of all kinds and a great selection of toys. New and used cages are available for most types of parrots. There weren't many birds on the sales floor and the person working that day was very friendly, but did not seem to know much about birds. Parrots are a niche in the pet care industry; when people want to adopt a bird that costs $100s or $1000s they expect to deal with people who know a lot about parrots and their needs. All in all, a good bird specialty store that's locally owned.

Super knowledgeable, super friendly! They recognize me when I come in, even though it's only three ou four times a year, and my bird seems happy spending a few nights here. They have the best food for her, and are really good and answering questions. Highly recommend.

I have been waiting since Christmas for my love bird. And its now February... I guess the weening process takes two months and two weeks. When I visit her, I was told three times that I could bring her home in two weeks>:( therefore, their commitment to making customers happy is not very successful. If they wouldn't lie about dated times the babies would be ready, this place would be so much more successful and appreciated.

We really depended on this business and trusted them with doing our birds nail trimming always recommended them. Since the Covid got I get closing down a few months and now that businesses are open and figuring out ways to safely do business I’m highly disappointed they can’t figure out to do nail trimming the vet office does! They can easily have people make appointments and drop off at the door they come get them and then place by the door again there’s no contact at all but they refuse to figure it out! If they keep going this way there business will suffer people will go elsewhere. I was told the owner refuses to make a way it can happen. Such a disappointment for what was once a great service and business it left a lot of people stranded for these services

I love Parrot Connection so much. The store birds are packed full of personality; I make sure to visit Rosie every Wednesday or Thursday. They are affiliated with RAAVE - so make sure to join for some discounts at the store! Our favorite worker is Mylene, she is such a sweetheart and always greets us with a smile and friendly chatter. :)

This is the best bird store I have gone into. Hands down. When I was first interested in birds they helped answer a lot of questions. They I wanted to buy a bird and since the wait list was long they recommend I adopt a bird and I’m so glad I did. Now I buy everything I need there!

Awesome bird shop with an excellent selection of food, toys, treats, cages, and other bird equipment. They raise beautiful chicks of all kinds, and the birds who board here are very happy and comfortable, it's so fun to visit all the chatty birds!

I really appreciate having a parrot store in town. I have boarded my caique as well as had him groomed here a few times since moving to Reno, he's not always the easiest to deal with but everyone here has been very kind and patient with him. I don't have any family or friends that are able to handle my bird as he does not like most people, so having parrot connection here is such a life saver for when we go out of town. They also have a good variety of toys!

We bought our African Grey 11 years ago from Parrot Connection. Fact is we dealt with the owner Mark. This is the only place I would ever buy a bird from. Mark was correct on times when Breezey would be able to come home. We went every day to bond with Breezey until she was able to come home. Mark also worked with us on paying for Breezey. We have bought most of her toys from Mark and he always advised us correctly. We also buy most of her food from Mark. We now live over two hundred miles from Reno but we still make purchases via the phone. Mark is very knowledgeable about all of the birds that he sells at the Parrot Connection. There is no bird store in Reno/Sparks that I would trust more than the Parrot Connection.

This is a great "all about birds" place to shop. They have a complete food selection for everything from parakeets to macaws. I love the toy selection too. Good people too. If you have a question about birds, Mark can help!

Went there Monday June 3, 2019. Thought the place was clean and nice. Thought the food was nice and so I bought the avi cakes by lafeber for my birds as a treat. It cost me 10 dollars and I really like this brand but they should be taking EXPIRED food out of the shelves and placing new ones or just say it's out of stock. The food I bought expired may 28, 2019. I opened it and theres webs... what kind of webs? I dont know. But I AM NOT FEEDING THESE TO MY BIRDS! Please examine your shelves more often. And dont say it's my fault that I bought an expired food. I thought this place was well kept and thought the food they put on the shelf is NOT EXPIRED.

I am appalled at this place. For one example They were feeding the birds pizza and talking about how it was the only thing one of the birds would eat. All the birds were pluckers, a few were extreme cases, they had no toys, they just seemed unhappy. The overall lack of care it seemed they had for these creatures made me leave trying to fight back tears. Ill even admit that I cried upon reaching my car. It was heartbreaking. I will not be going back.
