We have adopted a lovely , smart senior dog who lived 4 great years with us. She was under angel care and her name was Cocoa.., what a great group of people at Nevada Longley resque.

They're super great there. I wish they would put the breed in the description of the dog online. And explain why they charge what they do. But, that just minor stuff. I have always gotten the help and support I need when needing it from them. I believe they are an important part of our community.

The staff at the Carson City are wonderful and very helpful when I met Scruffy and again when we had a dog-to-dog session. I owe them a great deal for bringing him into my & my other dog’s lives.

I was there to support my sister because she had to surrender her dog. They were very respectful to her and her dog as well. The good news is that he was adopted in three days!

I took my friend to pick out because his cat died We found a cute little Kitty. The lady was very nice that helped us. Although it took 2 and a 1/2 hours. I think that was a bit long to get a cat. It might have been 3 hours and we were there on a Friday around 11:30. It gave us a coupon book with a lot of great deals. He really likes his Little Kitty but they need a little bit more help in there.

The staff here are so kind and helpful! We adopted our cat Harper here a week ago and the staff made it a super easy process. We love her so much and she is just the sweetest girl ever! Thank you so much Nevada Humane Society staff!

Don’t try to go to the front desk to adopt a pet, no matter what anyone tells you. If you want one, don’t leave it for even less than a minute to go start paperwork without talking to an associate first and getting in writing that you are adopting that animal.I’ve been waiting and going to shelters for a while now trying to meet the right pet and finally my partner and I did, spent quite a while with him in the room, only to have the cat adopted out from under us when we left the room to go start paperwork as we were told by an associate to do. Go to the front desk if we wanted him, they said. And when we got there less than a minute later, we were told that someone who just got there and came in after we left was adopting him IN THE ROOM?!Why were we told to go to the front?? This is wrong.I felt super defeated and left pretty quickly even though we WERE FIRST in line and should’ve been given the right of way. It’s not our fault someone misinformed us. I regret leaving so fast but I didn’t want to cry in front of a bunch of strangers. I wish I’d marched back to that room and set them straight. I should have. I’m super heartbroken about it tbh and I’d never go back there if it wasn’t the biggest shelter in the area. As it is, I don’t even know if I want to keep looking at this point. I’ve been waiting for so long and this was a pretty low blow.Point is, you’re probably better off going somewhere else if you’re looking for “the one”. Everyone’s nice here until they make a mistake and aren’t willing to do the right thing.

Holy cow, were they busy. I went on a Saturday for 1 lil puppy. From the point I walked in, the customer service girls were great. It was a really long wait that day. But we got to meet our puppy. And wait some more like 3 hours total. All the staff were excellent. It was clean and well kept. They do maybe need to figure out a way to speed up the adoption process. Maybe add more chairs, too. Overall, it was a good experience. Just plan to be there for a long time if they are busy.

I brought my three year old chihuahua, her name was Bella. I came here for help because she had a prolapsed uterus. And they turned me away. They told me that they could not help me. It was a holiday and they pretty much told me to go home with my dog like that. I tried taking her to an ER, and the lady kept telling me that to get my dog through the door, there wasn't it, which cost me three hundred dollars. I beg the lady at the humane society for help she just kept telling me to take my dog home. Because no one helped me. the next day, the amazing people over at options saw my baby girl and told me they were so sorry, and the only thing to do was to put her down. The surgeon at options told me that if one of those other places like here at the humane society would have put my dog needs first and saw her, I'd still have her. But sadly, because I didn't have the money, people turned me away. Everyone who saw her told me she needed surgery right away, but you people did not care that enough to help her and were just wanting us out of there and kept telling us to go somewhere else.Thank you for ripping my 3 kids hearts out and mine. We lost a part of our family that day.

Love this place. Great staff and very clean. Loss my kitty 2 months ago and was looking at what they had. Not many cats but guess that a good problem.

Terrible, adopted an amazing dog Ollie, no issues there. They then told us to take him to VCA clinic if there are any issues. My dog has some sort of issues with his ears so we set an appointment at VCA. They were booked 2 weeks out, VCA did NOTHING for us, called the humane society to tell them about the situation and they said since it was over 2 weeks out they would be unable to treat our dog they gave us with a pre-existing issue. When we adopted the dog they didn't even tell us they would treat our dog at their clinic for free if it was 2 weeks out. If you get a dog from here and they have health issues DO NOT take them to VCA. It's a scam so the humane society clinic doesn't have to treat them. It takes so long to get an appointment at VCA it puts you out of the 2 week window. If there is an issue take your animal to the humane society clinic. VCA is worthless and was no help at all.

I appreciate the staff here at the Nevada Humane Society. Other than the fact that this is where I got my precious fur baby from, Scrawmbles, they were also generous enough to donate dog and cat food to the non profit I work for. Thank you from all of us parents and pets at Hope Springs!!!

Sitting here with 5 employees behind the desk for the last thirty minutes and only one is helping customers.I’m the only other customer waiting to adopt. The others are just looking at me each time I look their direction.I would not call these people friendly, but also not rude.If this wasn’t an adoption situation, I’d be outta here.Totally unprofessional.

Very rude and inhumane worker. Our animal has a hurt leg requiring 5 to 10,000 operation. We asked them for help, and they asked us to return the animal. We believe that it was injured from the shelter, and we were hoping that it could heal. However after about 7 months the injuries just getting worse. I work very hard to return to the US after being gone for about 25 years. I have two kids with special needs and it almost killed me to immigrate back into America back when families were getting separated at the border we love our dog and we provide him a very good home. My wife just had it miscarriage in the hospital charges 65,000. We are in financial hardship. We can take care of our animal, we have a wonderful home. However, we don't have the 5 to 10,000 to take care of her animal. To give it the operation for his leg. My wife children in sulfur very attached to it as it is to us they said that they could help the animal and give it an operation, but then they wanted to give it to somebody else. the worker had the nerve to look down on me telling me that they would sacrifice eating themself to feed their own dogs. At that point I hug the phone up. I understand that that worker perhaps doesn't represent the entire association, but now my animals hurt we will never give them away. And I'll try to get a GoFundMe or hopefully get enough money with stocks or something to get them the operation he needs in the future. What a terrible experience. we just couldn't understand why they couldn't help him with the operation and let him return to our family where we love them very much. we have a yard, he sleeps in our bed, my children take them for a walk in the morning afternoon and evening. He's like a service dog for them they are very attached to them. Absolutely cold-hearted and degrading experience. One of my worst since returning to this country.

Went to Pet Pantry to get free dog food. Awesome people there. They have a good bank for low income dogs and cats.

Would give a 1 star, but respect that they try to give low priced options, however, charged me $50 dollars for rescheduling my appointment on the day before a couple weeks prior, then cancelled my rescheduled appointment two weeks later due to an “incident” without telling me a thing, drove 30 minutes to get there and staff really did not care at all. - Langley lane humane society

Wonderful dogs here. The people working here are super helpful. There are many volunteers to walk the dogs. This is great because the dogs stay happy. They give you a lot of time with the dog. And then they take you to a special area to have your own dogs. Meet the dog that you choose. Many adorable, kitty cats as well.

Got my guinea pigs there. Great experience. The gal handling the small animals was very nice and knowledgeable. Front desk was handling all the people as well as they could... getting folks out with their new pet.

I realize that a lot of people are blaming the NHS for their dogs with issues, honestly that’s not their fault. They told me, after getting a small animal, to SEPARATE THEM FOR TWO WEEKS BEFORE LETTING THEM MEET FACE TO FACE!! Maybe listen instead of looking at your pet. NHS is an amazing place that you can’t go wrong with. Never had issues! If you have a new animal, a lot of animals won’t be nice when meeting a new dog, because of instinct. So separate them, or keep them away from each other. Also, if your animal has injuries GET IT SEEN IMMEDIATELY! DONT wait 7 months thinking it will heal 🙄.Hey, edit. I saw more reviews seeing that some people have issues with their animals that have diseases. Need to remind you but they are less workers plus a lot of animals go there. Please consider the workers there who try to help the animals.Love to the NHS!

I adopted my dog here three years ago and had an amazing experience. She had a medical issue in the first two weeks I had her and they took care of her free of charge. I wanted to update any employees at the humane society that might remember my sweet girl. If any of you remember "Deejay" from 3 years ago, she's doing great. We ski back country in the winter and hike it in the summer. She's healthy, happy and perfect as can be. Thank you all so much.

Very clean and Spacious. Sense a real love for the animals. Staff were great, and one had amazing braids... If animals mind thier business, they will live better than a some at the human sheltor.

There are a lot of animals there waiting for their home. The people who work there seem to love it. I adopted my guy from there on the 15th, and he is right at home. The people who helped me with the paperwork were excellent !

Meet Charlie, he is the sweetest little guy, when I arrived at the animal shelter staff where very friendly, relatively clean, all animals appeared to be well taken care of, when I first meet Charlie he seemed a little scared and backed away. I feel in love with his eyes, I was able to adopt him, I minute I brought him home it was as if he always belonged, I give it up to the staff the have done an amazing job running the shelter and keeping all the animals safe and well taken care of, they seem to need a little more staff as it gets so busy, also all the donations anyone can give would definitely be appreciated, thank you
