Atmosphere was great, it did not smell smokey. Service was amazing from Noah and waitress Michelle.Food was good. The bread is hot and fresh. Crust is a little hard, wish it was a little softer.The Nevada Grill was tasty, cooked to perfection.The fettuccine alfredo left a lot to be desired.Lava cake was basically from a box - not great.Calamari was good and so was the filet mignon. We asked for medium rare and that is what we got!Overall good experience and atmosphere. Walked out for less than $100 bucks

I’ve lived in Gardnerville for 23 years and had never eaten at the steakhouse. My brother and I went last week for dinner and all I can say is wow. First off, the service was top notch. Really impressive. The wait staff was absolutely amazing and perfectly professional. Then the food arrived. Wow again. Filet mignon and lobster and a crab cake. Both were perfectly delicious. Take the time and enjoy this steakhouse

Food was good … lobster was a tiny bit dry… but still delish ! Service was not so great . Our waiter was new , we had dirty plates sitting in front of us as he and a couple of busboys walked by . Our waiter had a great personality and chatted with us as he stood in front of dirty plates ….. he never grabbed them . I’ve been in the restaurant biz , you never leave dirty plates on your tables !!! Ever !! Just one of my Pet Peeves when I go out .

Just adding my high marks for a wonderful dinner. Mostly my filet mignon was cooked to my specifications (“rare plus” as our waiter Francisco called it) perfectly.I also got the al gratin potatoes because they are known for them. I was mildly surprised there were only three asparagus and on red pepper on the plate as a vegetable but it did come with a wonderful dinner salad with a lovely house dressing.This restaurant is situated in the Carson Valley Casino. It has a very traditional feel and the weight staff was excellent. It is a popular place so make a reservation! I felt my steak was very close to any I have had and I have been to Ruth Chris. If that gives me any credence to say so.

Last night understaffed or just not the great experience we generally have. We were a party of six under reservation and had to get our own water refills, no refill on bread as we waited for salad way too long, and top it off with waiter asking if we wanted to see the dessert menu when our Sunset meals came with one. Well, unfortunately, the cannoli was served with a long blond hair garnishment in the whipping cream and my husband's and my ice cream was melting faster than we could eat it. Hot dish perhaps? Entrees when we got them, we're good. We were celebrating 2 February birthdays and waiter didn't seem to care or remember. 5:00 P.M. 6 Guests if manager cares to look into this.

Saw their website claimed they were the best steakhouse in Nevada. Wife and I played poker there and went to dinner afterwards. I had the filet and wife had the Nevada grill (pork medallions and bacon wrapped scallops. We were both floored by the fantastic cuisine and the wonderful martinis! Great service as well! We will be back!

Even though you have to walk through a smoky casino to get there, this place was worth it. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was romantic.Parking: It's a large parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Don't bring the kids. It's not that kind of atmosphere.

Great experience here. Wonderful staff, polite, friendly and welcoming. Great ribeye steak with encrusted blue cheese. Prices are what you would expect from a higher end steakhouse. Would return and would recommend.

My husband and I got the Prime Rib special and the Chicken Marsala. Nothing was special about the Prime Rib or the sides, so not worth the price ($40). The Chicken Marsala you can’t even taste wine in it. The cheesecake tasted cheap and like it was store bought. Same goes for the Rainbow Sherbet. The best thing was the salad. The croutons were delicious.

This place can be hit or miss. Some of the wait staff are excellent and some of them…. Well, quite frankly, should go back to working in the coffee shop. Same with the food, it is hit, or miss. Some nights are excellent and some not so good. I will keep going. I enjoy using my comps, however, if I was not using comps.

We went for mother's day with my folks. It's their go-to restaurant for celebrations. Overall, I find it okay there, but it probably would never be my first choice. The staff is nice and accommodating. The menu was a tiny bit limited - I think they do that just for holidays. I had ribeye steak with baked potato. No choice on the vegetable - everyone received asparagus, which I don't care for. The steak was actually pretty good. The potato was served with butter on it instead of on the side, and it was way too much butter. For four of us with two drinks and no dessert, over 200 bucks. If I'm going to spend that much, I'd probably spend it somewhere else. The restaurant is always crowded, so i know a lot of people really like it, it's just not my favorite. I'd rather eat at Katie's, their restaurant right next door inside the casino.

We (my wife and myself) were staying at the casino for the week end. We wanted to try the Steak house (CV). We made reservations for 8:00 PM sitting. We are at our table by 8:00 PM. We had our own bottle of wine and we had to open the bottle ourselves. Note $15.00 corkage fee. If the restaurant had any meal specials for the night we did not hear about them from our server. We order to pasta dishes that came with a house salad. When the salad arrived, the server drop off the salad and walked away. We noticed that everybody else in the restaurant was offered fresh ground pepper for the salad but we did not get offered any pepper for our salad. When the pasta dishes arrived there was nothing special about them. The server did offer fresh ground cheese and after asking for pepper she did offer it for our dishes. Near the end of the meal the busboys (there were two) starting removing dishes from the table that were not finish with. They try to take my wife dish and there was still food in the bowl. He also took my bread plate and I still had a piece of bread on the plate. I stop him! Do not think we will come back.

We were looking for an dinner option in the area that was open past 8 pm and stumbled across this steakhouse. Because this restaurant is in a casino, it loses points for ambience IMHO, but the food is well-priced, fresh and excellently prepared. The service is also very attentive. The food is not exactly avant-garde, but overall, you get excellent value for classic steakhouse fare.

My husband and I eat there every December as we married at CVI. By far, this was the best meal yet. My halibut was cooked perfectly. The filet mignon was exquisite. Tasty side dishes, and a really nice waiter. Reasonable prices and ample food. Good wine selection. The best!

In Douglas County, we don't have much in the way of restaurants. Mostly Mexican restaurants and fast food. But every now and then, something different comes along, something that stands alone. CV Steak is in this category.Being the only steakhouse in town, it stands alone not only as the only one of it's kind, but also in quality.First, the drinks. A recently added martini menu elevates the menu past your basics for any restaurant. We'll crafted and elegant, 5 out of 5.Second, the atmosphere. While it is a white tablecloth steakhouse, the walls are covered with old photos of the valley, showing it's history. Elegance with a hint of nostalgia, 5 out of 5.The service. We were greeted by the assistant manager, who is a delight. Our server was Luis, who is very good at his job. Being a steakhouse server is a career, and Luis is well on his way to success. I also knew the bus boy Evan, who was very friendly. Friendly and familiar, 5 out of 5.Appetizers. We ordered the escargot, which was my first time eating the dish. It was absolutely wonderful. Garlicky and buttery, I would order again in a heartbeat. Surprising and satisfying, 5 out of 5.Last, main courses. Everything was exactly what we wanted it to be. Steaks cooked to perfection. Perfect doneness with a hint of char. The calamari steak crusted in pangko couldn't be better. Baked potatoes, twice baked, and au gratin were all done exactly the way you would want. Exactly what I wanted for my birthday, 5 out of 5.All in all, this is the perfect change of pace for the valley, whether you are looking for a dressed up night out, or a relaxed environment with a good meal and great service. Highly recommend.
