Dr. Julianne Hoult and her team are the best! Not only has she provided great care to both of my dogs but she is very loving and attentive to them as well. I couldn’t ask for a better more knowledgeable doctor for my pups. She’s gone above and beyond to make sure I have all of the information available so I can make well informed decision about the care of my senior pups. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a professional and personalized experience.Dr. Justin Pitts is wonderful as well- he’s very knowledgeable and provided great care to both of my dogs. Dr. Pitts’ gentle disposition always made my pups feel safe and calm as soon as he entered the exam room. I would recommend him as well.This is a wonderful clinic with great staff!

I have always loved this vet, when I lived in Minden, this was my primary location to help my fur baby. 2 years ago, I moved to Dayton- and had to find a new vet that made the best sense drive wise.On a Saturday night, my dog had an accident, nothing that requires an emergency visit, but definitely needed a visit asap.My new vet of 2 years is not open on the weekends, so I knew bringing him in on Monday, I would be told they could not help because they are over booked.So I immediately called Carson Valley Vet, and within minutes I was on the phone with a receptionist and had an appointment 40 minutes after we hung up. (On a Sunday!)I am so happy they are open on the weekends, and even though there is an “up charge” for weekend visit- for me at the time it was $100, I’d pay that any time if it meant bringing my dog into the vet last second without taking to an emergency vet and being seen within less than an hour.And although it has been 2 years, I walked in, and felt safe. I felt that my dog was going to be taken care of. I felt the care, compassion, empathy, help and love- which is what drew me in 2 years ago. And the same feeling is there now.Thank you CVV- I truly appreciate all you have done for me and my doggo over the years!

Won’t go anywhere else! About 9 years ago they saved my dogs life after I went to 3 other vets in Carson and she was misdiagnosed. We’ve gone here ever since, and I have never had a bad experience. They have been seeing my pups and my family’s pups for 9 years now. Fast forward to today, my same dog was in great hands, Dr. Sheets and his team removed a bunch of tumors on my old lady and the care that she receives was amazing. The staff and doctors here are kind and heartfelt. Pricing is absolutely fair for the great work that they do I would pay it again! Now to heal up and hope for some more time with my girl.

Excellent service and care! Dr Nelson was right on time spent some time just bonding with our little Corgi! She loves going there and never afraid. Staff was good also, taking her in back for some routine blood test with care. Dr Nelson called me personally with the test results, which I really appreciate ☺️ He is the only Vetinarian she has ever seen and I hope to keep it that way!Jan M

While visiting your hospital was the worst experience ever as a pet owner I have to say I am so glad it happened near your hospital. We were traveling from the East Coast and my 16 week old Australian Labradoodle jumped out of the arms of another person onto solid rock and broke her leg, in two places she had to have a plate and screws plus two nights in the hospital. Dr. Nick was and IS the best veterinarian I have ever met in my life!!!! He’s very caring. He cares about the animals. He cares about you as an owner, in my opinion, he went above and beyond as far as after hours talking to me, letting me know every detail. What to expect once I pick her up and going forward. He ask about how my puppy was doing , he didn’t seem to mind taking the time it took to answer ALL my questions and then some, it’s just the best veterinarian, best veterinarian hospital I have ever been to in my life. I wish I lived out there jist so he could be her vet, or maybe Dr. Nick can move his practice to the East Coast. Mooresville, North Carolina to be more exact Lol. Love Dr Nick. Love the hospital. Everyone there was so caring. It felt like home. I don’t even feel this way at my own vet

I have had nothing but positive experiences with everyone at Carson Valley Vets. I came here to follow Dr. Sheets from Alpine in South Lake Tahoe and do not have enough good things to say about Dr Sheets. He is one of those vets that actually cares about your pet, will get on the floor to say hi to them and gives real, honest advice on your pets situations. I feel so lucky to have found a doctor like Sheets to care for my older guy. I also have seen Dr. Ross for a different procedure on my doggie and had an amazing experience with him as well. Sierra his vet tech is a rockstar and i truly value her interactions and expertise. I trust all of the staff with my pup who means the world to me.

Our Britney was struggling with allergies to the point that she was scratching and chewing herself down to the skin in places. Although Dr. Sheets who is her vet was booked out two weeks, they had a cancellation enabling us to get in two days later and saving us the money it would have cost had we taken her to emergency. Dr. Sheets is great with Ember and great with us. He informs us of the issues taking place in a manner in which we can understand. He also gives multiple options of how to treat problems as well as his recommendations when he has them.

This is the most friendly veterinarian and office I have dealt with in my 30 years of animal ownership as an adult. They were quick to get us in and take off a serious condition for our dog at a very reasonable price. The free Mt desk staff were kind and helpful and their facility was well designed. I had to put my sweet dog down and CV vets really made it comforting. It happened outside amongst a grove of trees in their yard which was beautiful and comforting to my dog. The vets took such care with my dog. I really appreciate CV vets! Thank you so much!

We went to take my mother in laws dog there because she had been vomiting and having diarrhea. We sat in the waiting room for hours. People came in after us and were taken before us over and over again despite us having an appointment at 11:15. Got in finally at 12:45pm. It’s a shame that all this place cares about is how much money you spend. The cost to draw blood ended up being $350. They wanted to do an ultrasound for $340 and then depending on the results, it could cost up most of thousands of dollars. We decided to bring the dog home to pass with family. Since we didn’t proceed with the ultrasound, they told my husband that he needed to come to pick the dog up now! All they care about is money and how much we were going to fork over. They aren’t in the business for the love of animals, only how much money can be spent. I will never come to this vet again. No compassion at all!!

Our 9-week-old corgi puppy, Ćevapi, had an absolutely wonderful experience at Carson Valley Vet! We opted for the 'puppy package,' which included her first shots and nail trim, and also helps us plan for her future visits. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive. You could tell they truly have a passion for animals and their well-being. Ćevapi didn't even flinch during her shots, which was a relief for us as new puppy parents. We're so grateful to our friend Christine, who works there and assured us that we would love it. We left feeling confident that Ćevapi is in great hands and looking forward to her next visit!

The medications to keep our extremely energetic dog have not worked out. It seems the priority is something that is not patient care. Too often I see animal and human medical providers attempting to provide alternative treatments that do not work rather than just prescribing something that works but may carry some sort of stigma attached to it.We have struggled keeping our dog calm the entire time after her surgery. None of the medications had any real impact on our dog's energy level for more than an hour.I also think giving a dog a SARI (Trazadone) rather than some type of medication that is intended for sedating an animal is risky.I've noticed our dog to be more excited than normal once the initial sort of calming period wears off. Which is only an hour at most and even then, is not all that calming. This concerns me regarding long term effects on her personality. These drugs should not be prescribed after surgery so willy nilly in my opinion.I shouldn't have to expend so much energy to get the proper medications for our Australian Sheppard mix after surgery.I had to call multiple times and waited all day trying to keep Willow from hurting her mouth and reopening her stiches.This could have been a pleasant non-stressful experience had we been given proper calming medications.I would not return to CVVH unless I had no other choice after this experience. Other vets have prescribed the proper medications and things were much smoother for us.Had we received proper calming medications for our dog I wouldn't have anything negative to say other than we were charged for a cone that we didn't receive. To be fair. They did fix the charge when I brought it up.I probably would have given them 5 stars if the post op care was done correctly.

Dr. Velotta is my favorite Veterinarian whose compassion for animals will make me travel many miles over, to only have my dog under her care. We recently moved back to CA but when Cricket was in need of a second teeth cleaning/extraction, there was no question he should be with Dr. V.
