I went to go buy dog food and my son was with me and so bummed he had to run errands with me. Well then we went to look at the reptiles and met Sam and the snake Harkness. She was so kind and spent so much time chatting with us and answering all of his questions, letting him pet and attempt to hold the snake and telling us all about the snakes and lizards they had. Then she recognized a lizard that was sold nearly a year ago! Amazing! Then my son spotted the ferrets and another lady that worked there started chatting with us and again so knowledgeable and patient and answered all my son’s questions again, letting him pet and try to hold one of the ferrets as well. As we were there he said it was such a great day. They were all so kind and genuinely happy to help and chat. I wish I got the Second Lady’s name too. We probably spent an hour there before finally buying the dog food we originally went there for. We will for sure make this our store moving forward!

I have been shopping here at Petco for almost 2 years now. I’ve had about 2 bad interactions and I don’t know if the first one is with the same person that I had another bad interaction with today. The manager Sam (as I was told that’s her possible name) by another employee just had a lot of attitude and questions. As I’ve stated I’ve been buying here for about 2 years now and only twice have an employee come up to me asking me a lot of questions just to buy a fish. I cooperated well with her questions even showed me her my ID as she stated that you have to be 18 to buy a fish. However, I was displeased with her tone of voice as she asked me all these extra questions about what my plans are for my tank and what I’m going to put in there and all that. The questions would be fine, if it’s being asked nicely and in a interactive way, however she’s asking these questions like she’s interrogating me. I told her no other employees have asked me this and if it is a requirement for you to ask all these questions, then all your employees should be doing it too. Shortly after, she proceeds to call an employee and asked if he’s ever helped me before, just trying to be extra and prove something to herself, stating that if I’m a regular like that, that the employees should know me. If that’s the case, I’ll be sure to have her help me each time so she can remember my face. Everyone else is great!

The cashier that usually assists me with checkout always has an amazing attitude. However, there are 2 associates that work the floor that act as if they don't want to be bothered. Always a resting "" face. Huddled at the fish tanks holding non-work related conversations.

Always seem to run into rude or unhelpful employees at this location and they seem to be out of stuff for my ball python frequently. I said to the person I was shopping with, “they never have medium rats here.” Instead of helping, a nearby employee sang to herself, “that’s not true.” They’ve previously said on the phone they have medium rats in stock then there’s none in store. I’ve had poor experiences with managers in the past, overall not a good location. I’ll be going to blue diamond from now on. Side note if petco cares so much: get a new manager. Most of your bad reviews are about her. She’s rude.

Those employed by your grooming service should be trained to handle spirited dog breeds such as the Siberian Husky. It was recommended that I drug my dog before bringing her in or seek out another Pet Spa.I will no longer use Petco, but seek a business that trains and certifies employees on how to handle special breeds.Your employees appear angry with my dog and I when we arrived. They should know by now that dogs sense the hostility they display.

Terrible Experience Grooming… Be careful when booking here! Ask for the best groomer, apparently Brittney is very good. We have always had a great experience here until today.Unsure the groomer who did our service dog, but he did the worst hack-job ever!(Mulipoo) He shaved him all over after asking for the longest cut, trimmed his ears short after being told several times not to touch them! Hacked his tail after being told to leave it long as well.Did not style his face and beard at all!The groomer was non communicative and it took 3 hrs when he only had one dog to do! Very unprofessional.We arrived on time but he proceeded to place Our dog in a kennel while he folded towels.We arrived 3 hrs later just to whiteness his non professional dog grooming techniques as he trimmed his ears right in front of us! Needless to say we were very upset.After complaining to the manager, who was very understanding and agreed he did a terrible job, we left.We won’t be returning.

I asked the associate tonight to unlock some dewormer for me. I was then questioned about whether my dog REALLY needs it and told me it’ll hurt my dog if he doesn’t actually need it (that is literally just not true). Then they said they require a vet recommendation to purchase said product. I walked over to Walmart and bought the product lol. I’m not sure if this is actual policy or not — I’m assuming not because I can order it through petcos website, but either way I’m kind of just in disbelief I was denied a sale for an over the counter product

I asked one of your representatives for assistance with a possible online order she replied “the reason your phone isn’t working is due to all your open tabs.” She kept repeating this louder and louder. She then moved on to yelling telling me there was nothing she could do to help. After yelling throughout the whole store I just decided to pickup what I needed from in store. I asked another representative for help who dismissed me and when she finally helped me find the dog food I needed she said “end of aisle where it always is.” I had never shopped at this Petco and have never worked one so how could I have possibly known?I recounted the entire story to my friends and family to make sure none of us stop by the Petco location on Serene and Eastern. For a company that continuously prides itself on customer service this was quite a surprise. I hope no other customer has to endure the same experience I did.

Lady at checkout was curt, almost to rude!She had a skwool on her face and came off that she didn’t want to be there,I asked her if she was having bad day, and her reply was NO, in a very tritated way,I would have brought it to the store manager! BUT , it was the store manager that I was dealing with!

My dog, bandit, came in to have a mass removed off his eyelid. I was super nervous about something going wrong or the after care messing up his eye or vision. Everyone was so kind and reassuring and helped me adjust the package to be the most cost effective as well for my budget. The surgery went better than I could’ve hoped! The incision was so small, it’s only been 2 days and Bandit looks practically healed. He’s had more energy and a huge smile on his face which I’m sure is because he can see better than he has in a year and the mass on his eyelid isn’t weighing down his eyelid or bothering him anymore! They have my full trust after my experience and if I ever needed any serious vet care again, I will be back!

Had an employee that was off the clock graciously help me look at different species of fish that I might want to add to my tank which has a beta fish that I understand is mostly a solitary guy, ended up getting some blood worms to "treat" my lil blue guy to.

I buy the prescription dog food for my yorkie. They don't have a big selection. The young lady, I asked to help me, really didn't want to be bothered. When I went to pay for my purchase, I was informed that Petco charges for bags. Wow! I prefer to shop in places where the smiles are free AND so are the bags!!!

Their staff at this location is always so nice! Not to mention they are really helpful when you have questions about your pets. I feel like some places have dummies on staff. This Petco is definitely different.

Called in over a week ago for prescription(trazodone) refills for my dogs. The label on the bottle clearly says the prescription expires in 2024, and there are still 7 refills left. The lady who picked up the phone insisted my dogs must be seen by the vet before they could refill my dogs prescriptions. After I explained to her what the label on the bottle says, she still insisted that I bring my dogs in to be seen by the vet. After I explained to her the third time, she said, ‘ok, the doctor will be here tomorrow(Friday), and I’ll ask her and then I’ll call you back.’ ….Cricket…I understand as a business, it is reasonable to try to maximize your profit. But blatantly ignoring what their own prescription bottle says and trying to shovel unnecessary visits down the patients’ throat by holding simple refills hostage is quite and eye opener.

There is plenty of pet food and pets to adopt. I have purchased some of my rabbit's food, cat food, bearded dragon food and frozen mice here for my snakes. Parking lot is sometimes a challenge because of the traffic but I always find a parking spot. There is handicapped parking and the sidewalk is easily accessible.

I've purchased birds, supplies, and had dog training as well as grooming at this store and it's been an overwhelmingly positive experience with them.This past week I was in the store and they had just received a Conure. It was adorable but they said they couldn't sell it for two weeks. I asked why the wait and was told they want to be sure the bird wasn't sick. Nice! I purchased a conure from them last year and it was clear they spent hours each day socializing the bird.I also adopted my dog from them at this very store, from one of their Vegas Humane Society Weekend Adoption days and he's my best friend. These people truly care about helping you, about the animals, and about making sure you are happy with them and their store.I don't go to any other pet stores anymore...this Petco is the best!

I was here to purchase some corals for my fish tank! A male sales person said i cant not buy the corals in one specific tank because they collected the best corals in store and stored in a not for sale cube tank! I asked if he can order them for me and he said yes we can order but it would not come and you wont get it! He has lots of attitude just because i asked why things in tank are not for sale!!!!

Maybe it's weird, but I'd get jealous seeing people with their dogs in Petco. Then we adopted Dug & got out chance. Dug is a classic American mutt. A little Black Mouth Cur, a little Golden Retriever and a ton of heart. We couldn't wait to show him off & Petco happens to partner with the local animal shelter, so it was meant.We appeared about 45 minutes to close not expecting anything but to look. Then there was Sam. She instantly brightened seeing Dug. Instant connection.The next 30 minutes were a blur as she was both our guide and expert. We weren't expecting to shop, but she explained so many things we hadn't even thought about that they became instantly necessary.Dug can't wait to see his new bestie again.Thank you, Sam! You are awesome!

I bought a Christmas dog bed that I thought was brand new, but when I got it home, it had a chunks and crumbs from a dog treat stuck down inside the bottom of the bed. I was not happy about this at all!
