Bought a cake from here for a birthday it was the last one there, and I quickly grabbed it and checked out. We took it home and when we cut the cake the base was so fluffy and good when we tried it everyone loved it. It was so good I definitely recommend getting a cake from here.

People are getting lazier, leaving the carts in the doorway in the snow instead of going in and putting them back. I hauled in two carts when I arrived, then brought in another with mine before I left.

Expensive market, check the dates on all food products. Also check the produce and meat items very carefully as it could be rotten. Most employees are very friendly. Update on 3/2022 prices are through the roof. It's very sad that so many companies in this country are taking advantage of people just to line the pockets of the CEOs and share holders. It's nothing more than a total rip off.Prices are out of control with Safeway, they are taking advantage of everyone. Just look at the profits they have shown for the last two quarters. I'd give it less stars if I could. This is the absolute worst grocery store I've ever been to. The employees do what they can but this store always seems to be out of basic products like milk, eggs, potatoes... but always has beer. Products are double sometimes triple what they are in neighboring towns. It baffles me how a mom and pop grocery store in other small towns can be so much better than this large chain. The worst part is once they start selling something people like and it's hard to be kept on the shelf because it sells out quickly they just stop selling it instead of upping the stock quantity. Terrible store and because they are the only store in town they don't strive to become better.

Horrible pharmacy takes forever the employees there can careless about anyone. They’re lazy and they do this because there’s no competition this place is awful I wouldn’t expect them to help or do anything valuable for your health. They should be med boarded

This is actually the worst Safeway I've ever been to. Moldy produce, so many out dated products, bottle water taste like plastic due to leaving water on pallets in the sun everyday all day... been this way at this Safeway for 20 years. I actually drive over 2 hours just to get my shopping done from a nicer store.

Pam says western Union can’t be done unless it’s before noon every day. Pretty sure she’s just being lazy. As she says that to one customer then goes and does one for the next customer. Nice store and staff other than that mess

Good selection, staff is always very polite and effective. Prices are a little high, but with their coupons and sale items, the place is competitive. I use you will Have a $200 bill, that ends up being 120 with coupons etc.

The best part of shopping here is the outstanding friendly and helpful staff. Being a small town location, selection is not quite what you would find in the city, but that's understandable. There are a few things you can find in the smaller stores, (Dollar General & Family Dollar), that Safeway doesn't have and/or at a better price, so I tend to visit multiple stores on shopping days to find everything I need.

I love shopping at Safeway especially because I'm on a budget!Get the App shop the sales and you will be amazed at how much money you can save that and the produce and bread baked items are fresh, My favorite is a location with a Deli/butcher shop!

Expensive. Loses power often. Smells. Cashiers are slow and since it's in this small town, they end up having long conversations with people in line. Don't go if you are in a hurry, like high prices, and the odor.

Encountered an employee stocking produce with her mask down below her nose and another employee coming out of the back storage area with her mask down on her neck. This is not a safe environment to be shopping in during covid. The produce was terrible and the organic produce was non existent. I bought a bag of pita bread and noticed mold on it when I returned home as well as a very faint expiration date for the organic eggs that was 3 days from expiration. The cashier, I believe his name was Troy was very pleasant and efficient.

Local store with a great variety of items. Grocery and produce. Paper goods and flowers. Deli and bakery. Even carries a large variety of gift cards. Large parking lot with extra space along the street. Pricing is a bit higher than WalMart as to be expected.

Most of the associates are knowledgeable however there are a few that are rude. This one guy Zeth I think his name tag said, he is rude. Never has a smile, always looks mad, doesn't greet you or not even a "thank you, have a nice day. He doesn't seem like he likes his job or even wants to be there.

The store itself was just great!! The grumpy ole lady who checked us out should quit and find a job she enjoys!! The food sample lady that had delicious dips was wonderful!! Overall, its a good place!!

Remarkably well stocked for such a small store in a small, somewhat remote, town. Seemed a bit short on staff but the store was neat and tidy. The staff was helpful once we waited in line to talk with them.

Check the pull dates carefully. We purchased a few refrigerated dinners, thinking Safeway was a reputable chain, so we didn't check before purchase. When we got home they were well past their pull dates. Very disappointed.

The store it self is ok, I wish they had an actual deli and bakery. I wish we could get fresh donuts and pastrys out here in Hawthorne. Store clerks are all friendly, except the pharmacy. My wife has an issue with them filling a prescription and no the friendliest on the phone to her.

It's the only grocery store in town, unfortunately. Everything is extremely overpriced, you'll often find that the food on the shelves is expired, and good luck shopping for produce that will last longer than 2 days (if it isn't already ripe past the point of edible). Nothing makes you angrier than paying around $3-4 an avocado just to cut them open one day later to find they're completely rotten. But hey, at least it's clean inside..?
