The wife and I stopped in at this place for a couple of days on our way from Washington state to Vegas. We also stayed in the motel out back, and the rooms are nice for the money you pay, which is a lot less than a hundred a night. It is the oldest continuing-to-operate tavern in Nevada. Late in his life, Virgil Earp was a deputy sheriff in Goldfield and he hung out at the Santa Fe occasionally. It is definitely real Wild West stuff and not phony for tourists stuff. It is the REAL DEAL. Watch out non-smokers. Smoking is allowed in the bar. Some caveats: There is no store in Goldfield and no gas stations. I mean ZIP, NADA, NOTHING. So pick up whatever you need before you arrive. Gas, snacks, whatever. And if you want a motel room out back of the bar, CALL THEM ON THE PHONE first. They don't do Hotels dot com or any of that modern stuff. They have a big book where they write in the reservations. The barmaids do it. You call the bar and they put you in the book. Pay when you arrive at the bar.For a good meal, drive the 25 miles north to Tonopah and hit up the casino. (No worries. Highway is flat, speed limit is HIGH, and you'll be there in minutes.) Order the steak dinners for 25 bucks and get the best beef you've probably had in a long time. The casino has a line on some of the absolutely best beef in Nevada. Trust me on this one. All the services and stores and gas are in Tonopah as well. There IS a small cafe in Goldfield that is open spotty hours, but even the locals don't eat there. Coffee maybe. If they are open.Bar is open from 2PM until 10PM seven days a week. No worries. We just kept drinking our pre-purchased Michelob Ultras from our coolers after the bar closed. However, the barmaid will stay and the place will remain open for a while longer if the tips are coming and business is good. It's Nice People Hanging Out Party Central for sure. You can stumble off later to your motel room anyway, since it is just out back of the bar. There is a laundry room between them if you need to wash your duds while you are there. While you are in Goldfield, you might want to make a stop at nearby GEMfield, which is a Bureau of Land Management mining claim offering chalcedony gemstone. Hand tools only. You walk in from the parking area. Walk out with your rocks, weigh them on the scale and pay a buck a pound. They take PayPal or just mail them a check.

An absolute MUST STOP if you are road-tripping through Nevada! An amazing little gem of a historic mine-town bar and motel. It's about 4 blocks in from the main highway (closer to the mines, so miners didn't have to walk all the way to Main St for a drink). The street isn't paved, but it's very well maintained so any car can get there without issues. As of March 2024, they're open 2p to 9p. Don't let the sign fool you, the barkeep is an absolute sweetheart. Inside, find a beautiful antique bar, lots of original details, super friendly locals, cheap domestic beer nice and cold, and a wood stove, nice and warm.Out back are about half a dozen motel rooms that are nice, basic, clean, and well priced, arranged around a cool old mine headworks and a Joshua Tree. Excellent sunsets. Across the street is a rusting collection of steam engines, old Ford's, and other neat mining detritus. You might want to call the bar to reserve, they do sell out sometimes. This is an old-school place - you have to call, no apps, no website. Or just drop in the bar and they'll set you up.Note that there's not much open in Goldfield - there's no gas station or grocery store here. Also, the WiFi is not really usable, but I had 5G cell service that worked.

One of the coolest bars I've been to. Established in 1905, it's got that great "patina" the one expects from and old bar. It's got a great vibe and the staff and the other customers were friendly. Best of all, IT'S DOG FRIENDLY! Don't pass this place up.

I'm a Realtor and am helping a lovely lady sell her land in Goldfield. While in Goldfield to take pictures of the land, I decided to explore this historically rich town. I stayed the night at the Santa Fe and was pleasantly surprised. Check In was at the bar area and was easy and prompt. The waitress seemed helpful and friendly. I filled out a check in cheat, she took my payment and off I went with my key. There is a laundry on the premises but I didn't need it. We stayed in Room 8 and I was very happy with the accommodations. The room has 2 queen beds, tv, mini fridge, microwave, bathroom and small closet. The room was nice and warm when we walked in. Beds were very comfy. We brought our own pillows so can't comment on those. Parking was right outside the room. In the morning we walked across the street to the old railroad boneyard. Some amazing stuff in this town! Would definitely stay here again.

Have never visited inside the saloon, but it looks great through the window. We did, however, use the laundry facility. Clean, great prices, overall great experience (even though doing laundry isn't fun.)

Stop in to check out this most talked about saloon. We were not disappointed. Bartender is tough, mind your manners! She knows her stuff/history. Very cool antiques the bar and outside. Take some pictures 😁

We stayed the night at the Saloon's motel, clean, comfortable and gorgeous view of the sunrise the following morning. Visited the saloon for a nightcap, the woman bartender was super friendly, as well as other people from this town, they are incredibly friendly. Fun experience!

As much a museum as it is a bar, but contrary to their ads the bartender couldn't have been sweeter. Her and the locals made us feel right at home despite just rolling off the freeway. Great beer, great people, great atmosphere, totally reccomend stopping here.

Can you feel like you've gone back to 1907 in the wild, wild west? If you go to Sante Fe Saloon you certainly can. Good service, old world feel, and a few slot machines to play while you drink. If you're going through Goldfield definitely grab a drink here.

Too much fun hanging out with the locals in this old time saloon. Pattie the barkeep was great. Don't expect anything fancy with the booze or beer and you won't be let down. If you are looking for food, go find a restaurant.

This is as much museum as it is bar.I was there during City Festival, so the place was packed.Very friendly atmosphere and this is one of the last places where people come to have good time, not to sit glued to their phones.Spend about 45 minutes there and nobody would talk on the phone.Good prices on drinks too, but not much food.

I would consider moving here. The people I've met were real friendly. It's a colorful place, kinda artsy. An old mining town with a rich history. Worth a visit. We will be coming back again most likely.

A great place to stop and get a little gold rush history. Kudos to Patty for filling us in on this amazing town and it's history. A bit smoky (it's Nevada) but well worth the stop.

Awesome little place with $2 Buds and $10 pizza. Lots of machinery from the boom times as well as a locomotive, old 20's Ford. There's a little motel as well but we had reservations in Vegas so had to move on. Up the road is an old truck and a steam tractor. Well worth the stop if you are into old west boomtown history. The girl at the bar was very nice as was the local guy at the bar sitting there with his dog keeley.

The Santa Fe saloon and motel is a great place in goldfield when I lived in goldfield I washed my clothes there all the time and sometimes I'd order pizza through the Freddy Krueger restaurant in the Santa Fe saloon it's a real nice place to visit real nice people and good people but like I say it's a nice place to visit but I don't want to live there but that's just me it's a great place to stay to visit to eat and drink all the liquor that you want and I don't drink liquor so I order sarsaparilla that's my favorite so I'll be continuing as your and there's no telling where God is going to send me next that's all I got to say about that.max.

A very historic bar located near the mining district of Goldfield , Nevada. The structure is very original inside and out with plenty of history on the walls. Enjoy a drink from Nevada's "meanest" bartender and stay the night at the adjoining motel.

Oldest continuously open bar in Nevada...cold beer...good drinks...fair prices...and a ton of history...wish they had food...but the frozen bar pizza works!

The Bartender is not mean, get to know her and she will be as nice as they can get. Ask her about the bar your sitting at, it came from Rhyolite and there is a good chance that Wyatt and Virgil Earp had a drink at it while they were in Rhyolite. When Rhyolite went under the bar moved to Goldfield and Wyatt went to Tonopah to run the Northern Saloon while his brother, Virgil went to Goldfield where he became a deputy Sheriff. Have fun, as you will find no other place like this that still holds onto the old West! Scott
