First, I want to say I have loved going to Grocery Outlet stores for years. Yes, it is important to watch the expiration dates and integrity of the products along with the integrity of the packaging. (Although, I do feel this has had much improvement over the years.) One can save a significant amount of money on groceries by shopping at a Grocery Outlet before going to the bigger supermarkets. I used to love going to Fernley’s location with the prior owners before their son and his girlfriend took over the store. Now employees tend to be rude and inconsiderate which I believe is mostly a training issue. When hiring people into their first job they need to be taught about customer service and how to treat food in a grocery setting. Such as don’t put cleaning products in with food, don’t make the bags so heavy that they will rip or can’t be carried, and throw produce that the customer took their time in picking out. With that said, I probably spent around $1,000.00, give or take, a month at the Fernley location. Recently I had an incident of not getting home with a product that was less than $6.00. The way the situation was handled left me feeling less than important and invaluable as a customer. This particular purchase was $247.19. Not an exceeding amount of money, but not a one item purchase either. Jazmyn did say she looked at the video and didn’t notice anything and didn’t notice anyone picking anything up. Nice of her to look at the video. Her tone and words were condescending and accusatory when stating this over the phone. However, I unpacked my purchases and the item was not present, so, I searched my car that night and again in the morning when the sun was out to make sure it wasn’t there. I didn’t find it in either search. I have never returned an item to this store, even when it was bad when I got it home, nor have I ever called about a missing item. Sometimes customer care and customer satisfaction can be more important than a few dollar item. This review is not to complain over a $6.00 item, but rather to say the customer service is lacking and has really gone down hill. I will continue to frequent both the Dayton store and the Sparks store on Disc Drive. Both provide excellent customer service and overall I like the stores much more than the Fernley location.

Accused me of shoplifting and called the sheriff but I had a prof of payment over single item in my back and the one thing that was in my pocket. Put he wouldn’t look at the receipt. They need competent security to try to bust people who are actually stealing next time.

I've had several friends work here with all bad experience. The current owner doesn't care if you need time off or if something is wrong in the work place.Today my friend told me he talked to the own because his co workers is not working well or respecting him. The Owner said "you know how these new aged women are, can't control them"Horrible place to work. Cheap stuff at least. But definitely wouldn't work for their family business. Hopefully their son will be a better store owner :/

A discount grocery store that can be hit or miss. That's not a complaint, but just a description for those who don't understand exactly what the place is.There is plenty of parking here, and the store was easy enough to get to. I don't think this is the type of place I'd shop regularly, but more somewhere I'd go if I just don't want to deal with Walmart. I have mobility issues, and, on a bad day, the thought of having to walk all the way through Walmart will keep me at home going without. Grocery Outlet is small and manageable.The discounts are relative. Their comparison prices ("The other guys charge this much, but here you only pay this much") seem to be taken from higher-end neighborhood stores like Albertsons, Safeway, or Raleys. For someone like me who does the bulk of my shopping at Walmart, unless I'm looking for something specific, I don't feel I really saved all that much.There were electric carts for those of us with mobility issues, but the aisles are narrow, so they're hard to use. The store didn't seem to keep them plugged in between customers. My cart literally died in the middle of my shopping trip.It's a convenience if you're in a hurry and don't want to compete with Walmart crowds, but I'll stick with my regular shopping routine.

This is hands down, by far the best Grocery Outlet I've ever been in. Whenever I have to go this direction I will absolutely make sure I'm going back here. Very clean and organized store, and great prices on all sorts of good food products. This is a hidden gem in a time when hidden gems are few and far between.

Clean store, with the best grocery prices that you will find in Fernley. Friendly employees throughout the store that are very helpful to you when you need assistance. Update 9/15/23 - Arrived here at 7:15 am to be greeted by a teenage male employee bringing out inventory on a pallet jack and says to me "Are you coming here to shop"? Told him Yes, and he says "We aren't open til 8 am". I waited outside the store for 45 minutes til they opened to only be treated with the utmost rudeness and disrespect from Sheri K. who by the way identified herself to me as the store manager. A few minutes before 8 this manager slides open the doors to the store and doesn't even offer a greeting towards me such as a simple Good Morning or nothing! I walk into the store and extend a "Good Morning" toward her and I didn't even get a response back from that greeting and instead she snapped at me and rudely exclaims to me that I needed to leave my backpack up front at register 3 and that she will watch it for me. I shopped for a handful of items and go checkout and this manager waited on me. She begins to fill a plastic bag with my items and I politely asked her to put those items inside my backpack that was just an aisle over from her and she completely ignored my request and left my items on the belt. I then indicated on the payment terminal that I wanted cash back from my purchase, well she rudely cancelled the transaction out and said "We can't give you any cash back at the beginning of our shift because we don't have the cash to give you"! And then she says "Do you still want your groceries"? Of course I do, I told her and had to be inconvenienced into pulling my card out of my wallet and running it again. And then I addressed with her if the store was going to switch to fall hours where the store would be opening earlier and she rudely replies "I don't know, we just had new owners take over"! She then arrogantly hands me my receipt and leaves all my items on the belt without bagging them into my backpack and walks away with another employee as if I'm nothing but an intrusion towards her. As she was walking away from me I informed her that I would be downgrading this review because of the nasty customer service received by this visit. I was a regular customer of this store and now I will NO LONGER be stepping foot into this place as I will be taking my business elsewhere where my business will be appreciated!! Also, as many previous reviews for this store indicate expired products on the shelf is exactly what I noticed when I checked exp. dates on products I wanted to buy, so watch out!

Came here and bought ~$230 worth of groceries and then immediately got harassed in the parking lot by “management.” We had a huge cartful of groceries and we live in the middle of nowhere over 80 miles away so we were packing our coolers for the drive home. A man from the store came out and threatened to call the cops on us for trespassing. He was really rude and we said we were leaving as soon as we were done loading up. He made a big deal and brought the other store associates out to watch us finish packing and to film us and threaten us more. I checked the receipt timestamp and we were in the parking lot for less than 30 min, actively sorting and packing a large amount of groceries. Unacceptable behavior, especially when they could have spoken to us politely and professionally instead of rudely and like we were some kind of criminals. Will NEVER return even though it’s one of the only grocery stores within 80 miles of our home.

I walked in with a backpack. No one said anything to me. Walked over to get a steak. Picked out the perfect steak( I was so excited to grill it up) was told I can not be in the store with a backpack. I understand theft is a huge problem. But my backpack was fully on my back. Worst part is I saw I lady walk out with a backpack while I was walk in. For sure never going back.

It's a bargain market so the selection varies. But over all the prices are good and they usually have what you need. I would like to see more organic food though. But the do have some.

They over charge people and when told your called a lier. If you pay with food stamps they refuse to give you, your money back on your card. They tell you it's against the law, NO IT IS NOT AGAINST THE LAW. THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW. THEY DO THIS TO SO MANY. CALL THE FRAUD DEPT AT WELFARE AND KEEP TURNING THEM IN. I was at this pain last week. They are selling food that expired 2+ months ago. Watch the dates on items you buy.

Still has real Top Ramin!!! Normally has great prices. Was there not long ago and paid like $60 for the same stuff I'd spend over $100 for at Walmart.

Great prices on a wide variety of food. Hit and miss if you get the same product the following week. Staff is super friendly, and they have more than one checkout open and working at one time. Already have more over Walmart 🤣 clean bathrooms. Also, they have great produce, meat, gluten-free, and vegan options.

Grocery outlet has saved me tons of money and time. It's gotten to the point where I don't even bother going to Walmart unless I need something to only Walmart has. The prices are good and the quality is excellent.The staff is also very nice and helpful.

Absolutely love this store. Not a place to go for a guaranteed shopping list. Because their inventory is from all over. They do a great job with this seemingly very difficult task. They also make up for it in pricing and a clean organized store. The employee's are some of the nicest and most helpful people I have ever met. Management and ownership is an amazing group of people as well. Keep it up guys!

I love the oddball stuff at this store. And occasionally you can come across some really wild deals. Downside is they don't always carry the same thing twice, which I understand so if I find something I think might go out of stock and not return I stock up. Found some great seasoning there.

Never has anything you are specifically looking for exept for regular staples. A lot of things are random. If you want any alcoholic bevergae no matter how old you are make sure to bring your ID. Bacon is reasonably priced. If you want special cheeses this is a great place to find it. Make sure you do your homework before going because they are not always cheaper than walmart.

I like that this grocery is family-operated, even if it is a franchise. I think on Tuesday's they offer senior citizen discounts or something like it. Very good deals can be found here; friendly staff all around.

I had my regular shopping to do on a Tuesday. They had everything on my list! The prices are always better than the competitors, then received another 10% off at the register for being a senior! Wow! What a surprise! I will be doing all my shopping here on Tuesdays from now on!

Ya know, this place is actually pretty good. Beats our other "local" market in freshness. The lighting is warm and inviting. I will say watch the price they list for other places. While I am sure there are places that will charge that price I don't think it is always a good representation of local competition prices. That being said the prices are actually pretty darn good. I will be going back for more stuff. A great addition to our little community.

Very happy with this store and the amazing products(even organic!) at amazing prices! Have been referring all my friends to shop here. Employees are nice, the store is clean and organized. I usually shop at Safeway for my groceries, but now I've switched because of better prices and just-as-good food items.

Highly disgusted! Went to the store on June 2nd around 11:30am. Was going to purchase a watermelon and some apples. The cashier looking right at me started picking her nose. I said I didn't want the apples as it looked as if she wiped her hand on them. I should've called her out on it cause well with covid and other sicknesses floating around so rampant she has no business doing that to someone with a low immune system! I'm so disgusted, horrified and upset that I will not be back to the store. Bummer because I go there quite often.
