I encountered severe negligence at an animal shelter that failed to protect my two dogs in their custody. Despite providing undeniable evidence of ownership, the shelter's response was grossly inadequate, resulting in a prolonged six-week ordeal before any action was taken. This delay contributed to the distress and mistreatment of my dogs.My efforts alone brought about their return. This incident has thoroughly eroded my trust in this facility and its personnel, highlighting a concerning lack of responsibility and care.

Ann and her crew do a tremendous job serving our community and providing a top notch experience for future pet adopters.

The people here are amazing and very helpful and you will instantly fall in love with your new family member! We found our cat Harriet (originally Cookie) here and will hopefully get our next dog here too.

Head officer is very rude, other officers are far better.TLDR: They won’t accept any animal being surrendered without vet records. To assume that every animal has been to the vet and then refuse one if they haven’t seems asinine to me. I’m relocating due to unforeseen circumstances and one of my cats is very territorial with dogs. I went in to consider surrendering her and was rudely turned away. The first words from the head officer were, “So you wanna dump your cat?” I couldn’t get any useful information whatsoever. They only told me of one other place to take her too and you can only surrender by appointment. Not everyone looking to give up an animal is doing so out of spite or not caring for the animal. To put words in one’s mouth is extremely disrespectful. So my question is, why can a shelter pick up a stray no problem, yet when someone in my situation is trying to do the right thing is turned away? The experience I’ve had with this shelter showed me why people leave animals on the street. Life is full of the unexpected, and if a person can’t care for animal due to unforeseen circumstances what else should they do if no acquaintances take the pet or a shelter behaves like this? Seems contradictory and would not recommend this shelter if you truly care for your pet.

Excellent pet sanctuary until they can find forever homes. We adopted two cats. Perfect health and condition. I want to go adopt another one this week. We trust this place 100 %. 🐾💙

I was looking forward to speaking with Anna after all the great things I heard about her from people around town. I needed help with a dog I needed to rehome asap.In the month of May I called several times leaving messages but she wouldn't return my calls. I'm at a loss as to why?I would give zero stars to this review if I could.

Had family over on holiday, and one of her dogs was small enough to get underneath the gate. She ran away, even though it was close to closing there were two animal control trucks out there helping in our search. Very thankful for their help. To anyone wondering, the dog ended up finding her way home.

Went there to adopt a cat we found 2 kittens was told we could adopt but they had to get vet checked was told call Friday, called Fridaythen was told call Monday called Monday then told call me Wednesday called Wednesday was told we'll call you back never received a call its obvious that they had a friend who decided they wanted the kittens so because we arent connected or friends we got the run around and lied to and NEVER called back!!! ...UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE . That's our 1st and LAST experience with this place.

Stopped here for information regarding surrendering & found animals. Supervising Officer Inabnitt was able to answer our questions and gave us guidance for options and resources for our situation. She also showed us the animals currently ready for adoption. It's wonderful to see how caring and helpful the staff are for the citizens and more importantly the animals here. Very grateful for these people.

Unfortunately my dog was put in there, and she was placed in a small cage for hours! She's a big dog 140 pounds wasn't treated very well! The lady who runs the place likes to spread rumors, and talks bad about people she doesn't even know! I tried to get my girl out of there for 4 days! No one ever there, never return your phone calls! I finally had to call the police department to get a hold of them!

Although a smaller shelter than those found in Las Vegas, you won't find a more caring and compassionate animal control officer than Ann. She cares for every animal that comes through her doors as if it were her own. If you get a pet from the Boulder City shelter, you know it'll become a cherished family member in no time

We called to make sure I can have my two cats neutered at the place. They told us to come in sometime before 9 am because they work till 2. I didn’t know the time hours so I trusted them. My boyfriend goes in bc I was busy the day they could come in to get neutered, and they have an attitude with him because apparently he “flaked” when they told us a different time (by the way, how could he have “flaked“ if he was only an hour late, at the most?). So I come in today to try to have a conversation with them so that we can get this settled. The OWNER of the place has an attitude with me when I’m trying to be civil! She’s basically screaming at me when I’m trying to clarify that there must have been a miscommunication. So needless to say, I’m not going to waste my time there anymore. If the owner can’t be civil about her mistake, there’s no point spending my money there! And if u have a badge, don’t develop this superiority complex like this lady does, because not being willing to own up to a mistake is TOXIC!

They lock the doors for lunch for an hour. It’s not that hard to eat a sandwich while people walk around. They also said dogs weren’t available to look at despite the plethora of audible barks. I peered into another room with an open door to see if there were any other cats and a random staff lady bombarded me from the other side saying there was nothing else to look at. I wouldn’t be surprised if none of the animals got adopted because of the cold and aloof staff.

Friendly, hardworking staff. Went into adopt a dog but it had been adopted already 😖 My loss, someone's gain. However, I did meet another dog I'm considering. Place is very clean too. Wish I could take all the animals home but that's in a perfect world. Remember, ADOPT, DON'T SHOP ! PLEASE

Went to go look for kittens and got there at 11:30a and the sign on the door said closed for lunch between 12p-1p. They had locked the door a half an hour early so we drove 20 min out for nothing. There is only one person working there and it is the animal control officer. Maybe that's why they have so many animals waiting to get adopted. Need to hire an actual staff that can answer the phone for any questions or concerns...

These past few days our family was blessed to add a lovebird named Romeo aka 'Humphrey' and rotweiler named Rockey aka 'LugNut'.Rockey aka 'LugNut' is a handsome sweet boy, great listener sit, lay, paw, ease, stay. He walks great on a leash. Is house trained, does well in the car, friendly in the PetSmart, not to enterested in toys or fetch; so far is calm and cat/bird/kid/teen/adult friendly. We are taking it slow with 'Humphrey' to get used to us. He pecks when nervous. He enjoys his toys especially his ball. He is such a gorgeous Birdy.I am looking forward to a great future with Our family human, cat, dog, and bird. Now about the Boulder City Animal Shelter.1) staff are great with the animals. CARING.2) good customer service3) very clean everywhere you look.4) the price is very reasonable.5) got extras to make our lil fur and feathered babies ADJUST easier at their new home.6) very low death rate.

Came by to park for two minutes, had a rude woman come out and tell us we couldn't be here. She went back in and came out later with her phone to snap pics of our car. If this is how inconsiderate and rude the staff is to a passerby, no way in hell am I bringing an animal here.

This shelter only has bit bulls. I would rather go to the other ones to fine a puppy or a medium dog.

Their website is useless. The link doesn't work to see adoptable pets. Shame shame. Will buy from a puppy mill instead.
