We came to have breakfast in the morning. This place was recommended both by google and by the local hotel where we stayed over night.The peace was easy to find. It was nicely decorated for Christmas, there is a large parking in-front of it.Inside, there were some customers but no large queue. We took an available table, we could order in 5-10 minutes once the waitress came to us. We decided to go for standard breakfast : one omelette with ham (Denver omelette) and two eggs with sausage, also coffee.The food arrived fast, everything was tasty and freshly cooked. We liked the taste, the portion was big, we could hardly finish it (but we are not big eaters in the morning). We paid around 25 usd for everything, notice that it is cash only.Overall the place is nice and cozy, although a bit old-fashioned and it’s charming. The atmosphere was friendly and pleasant. Perhaps what could be improved: it would be nice to have fresh milk for coffee, also less waste (the plates were of paper) and would be great to be able to sort food remainings from other trash.This place can definitely be recommended.

You know, I travel back and forth through this part of the state quite often and I can honestly say I missed this place probably every time I drive through Betty, my business partner actually saw it and we stopped since we had a early stop. I'm really glad we did, this place was great. I had the steak and eggs and it was only $11. The quality was great for the price and we were treated very well. It actually got really busy while we were there so it must be a popular spot in town. Awesome stop, check it out if your driving through

After driving the long interminable hot desert road down US 95, Mel's Diner was a welcomed sight and a nice break from the monotony of driving.It serves the usual diner stuff and found the food to be good and served with good cheer, even when the waitress was busy with a lot of customers.It's a great joint, spartan, but nonetheless, a part of Americana on a lonely two lane road in the middle of nowhere.Watch out for them wild burros running around town.

Food was quick, cheap and delicious. Portion sizes were great for the price. The service was fantastic. The woman helping us was sweet, smiley and so helpful. We love her! Decor was fitting. Would definitely come back if in the area.And we got greeted by some donkeys :)

We had breakfast. The coffee was good and the food was good. The server was pleasant and attentive. Now, the somewhat different things. The food was served on paper plates. It's CASH ONLY. And the bathrooms are outside on the side - think converted old gas station! I would eat there again, though. I had scrambled eggs with diced ham and my spouse had Denver omelet.

Very friendly staff. Great food. Portions are large and they guarantee to keep you full for a long time. Food was freshly made. They bring you a coffee just right to the table so you can refill your cup whenever you want. The Caffe is cozy and welcoming. I would highly recommend it

Everytime we travel to northern Nevada from Vegas, we always make sure to skip breakfast at home so we can eat at Mel's! It's a very small rural diner, conveniently located right off the 95. I had an omelette with hashbrowns, and my wife had eggs and bacon. The real kicker though is that they include biscuits and gravy as a *side*! The portions were large and filling, and the service was lovely. Only suggestions I would make is to maybe do some light renovations on the bathroom (it's outside, and not the nicest, but it's understandable), and maybe consider taking credit cards. We didn't realize it was cash only until it was time to pay, and thankfully we had some. I know there are merchant fees for cards, but I'd be happy to pay a surcharge for the convenience. Overall fantastic breakfast, you won't be disappointed!

Very nice place.We had a typical American breakfast (eggs, bacon, pancakes…) and everything was delicious.Very generous size (pancakes are so huuuge and fluffy) and price is worth it.Thank you again!

Service was friendly, food was out fast and it was delicious. Great place to stop for breakfast and lunch. They do close around 1 and 130, so don't spend too much time in Rhyolite and miss out! They were nice enough to customize my burger with a sunny side egg on top! Thanks for a great meal.

Service has always been fast and friendly. Omelette is delicious and hot, hash browns are crispy, country gravy is peppery and delicious as it should be. Have been here 3 yrs in a row and don’t get breakfast anywhere else.**Cash only**
