It seems like they have blocked historic sites due to vandalism. They are now working on creating a more informative site. I would have been completely clueless about the significance had I not had a friend who researched the site previously. This place will be improving, so check it out later.

What a ghost town, the best one I have ever visited. Usually there is 1 or 2 small homes in a ghost town but this actually had pretty well-preserved (for a ghost town) buildings. Some of them you can go inside, others are fenced off. The old casino is definitely the most well preserved but it's completely fenced off.The coolest thing was a small abandoned house near the entrance to the town. It was one you could walk right up to and look inside. It had some old run down furniture in it still and even the cupboards of the kitchen area. Just amazing to think about these pieces of history from over 100 years ago (I think it was like 1904).Well worth it, and free, with minimal traffic even on a Saturday in April when we visited.

We saw this on our map and decided to take a little side trip to see it. I had no idea the bottle house was here. I have heard of this place, and seen pictures of it, but seeing it in person was very cool. The art garden and the remains of Rhyolite were pretty cool as well. Definitely worth the side trip if you are not in a hurry.

This is a unique stop along the way to Death Valley. Strange sculptures in the middle of a deserted town and a little gift shop to learn about it.The guy at the gift shop was super nice and there are some souvenirs that you can buy.

While in Vegas, we did a full day trip to Death Valley. Along theway out to the valley, we stopped at this ghost town. It wasnt toofar out of the way and its not everyday to see a original ghosttown! Its cool to see the buildings still standing and in decent shape forhow old they are. I was surprised how many other cars wheredriving thru besides us- guess its well known!A few tips:Expect horrible dusty and bumpy roads- always have a tirereplacement ready when in desert! Bring plenty water / snacks-there isnt any gas stations in the area for ages so stock up on gasas well. There are signs warning about rattle snakes so we didntclimb or go in any buildings because thats where they hide! Enjoythe scenery without risking your health! My favorite spot was inside the tiny old wooden train- the colorswere mind blowing beautiful! So much history

Awesome desert art exhibit right next to Rhyolite on your wat to Beaty from Death Valley! There is an information shack close to where you park about the area but I was more focused on exploring and taking pictures so I didn't stop in.The art is very cool and much of it has info on it as to what it depicts be it quite worn in areas, and may be hard to read for some.Definitely recommend!

Today the little museum building was open: a first for us despite many, many visits. It's worth it as you learn a bit more about the initial artist and the foundation. Today we saw a new piece, a set of square arches ( oxymore?) I didn't find them interesting from a distance, but getting closer the perspective becomes very interesting.

If Art in the middle of the desert is on your things to see list come to Armagosa Valley right in front of Rhyolite ghost town and see the Goldwell open air museum. It began in 1984 with the last supper sculpture created by Albert Szukalski a Belgian artist. Filled by 6 more pieces by other European artists. There's the ghost rider, the lady desert : venus of Nevada, sit here, Icara, tribute to shorty Harris and more. Time of day definitely affects the pictures you get we shot for sunset ish and got some beautiful shots.

Accidentally found this place when visiting Rhyolite Ghost Town and had a look around. Not quite sure what it was all in aid of but it was very interesting with some nice pieces. It is unreasonable not here, as you might expect, seeing as it's in a desert, so we made a fleeting visit - would recommend suncream!

We’ve been seeing this on travel Nevada’s IG and a little bit over the internet. It’s literally outside Beaty NV and it’s really nice. It’s art at a abandon town, in the middle of Rhyolite, NV. It’s very clean, no vandalism, and it’s nicely separated. The little museum was closed but it’s definitely something to check box out if you live in Nevada. My family enjoyed it.

I am from Las Vegas Nevada and I love going on spontaneous trips with my dog, Lady. It is about an hour away from Las Vegas and seeing it for the first time was very eerie. There wasn’t much people that came that day but the art was absolutely beautiful, unique and amazing. I honestly loved the feeling of being there alone with my dog. It’s a great experience because you can see the details and feel the ghost town vibes.
