If you are interested in the history of Nevada this is a great place to stay! Rooms have a dining table and plenty of space. Water gets nice and hot which is wonderful after a day spent exploring Death Valley. There are pleasant surprises hidden and you will find them easily and they will bring a smile to your face. We ate at the VFW and highly recommend. Will definately back.Nearby activities: If you are interested in geology Death Valley is the most fascinating place on earth. Fantastic for hiking and photography.

Did not know to ask for front unit with porch and street view. We did not see any burros although we were told they are always around. Only stayed one late afternoon to mid morning. DONot take restaurant recommendation to VFW unless you want to sit in very smokey atmosphere. Room very clean, relatively comfortable with essentials, worn and old.

If you are looking for a fun, kitchy place to stay, this is NOT it! The retro/Jetson's theme of the building is not lovingly played out within the rooms. The furnishings are desert rat/ salvation army/thrift store finds with Family Dollar touches - little attempt to tie-in to the retro-future vibe that tempts one in the door.As others have noted, the owner is rude. Even as we were checking in, so surly bc one of our credit cards didn't immediately go thru! Kind of added to the overall ambiance of defeat and despair, so we let it ride.... She was so sure we'd leave a bad review(bc we asked her to be patient with the credit card issue) she threatened not to let us stay. We were exhausted, seared from a day in the desert. The last thing we needed was to drive around looking for another place to stay!We were so tired, we were willing to put up with a lot including, but not limited to: the nostril-ripping odor from very noxious air freshener that didn't dissipate although I left the door wide open for as long as I could, a bathtub slicked with soap scum/leg hair shavings, shabby and broken trim/fixtures, hairs on the pillow cases from previous guests, and very lumpy, thin, sub-standard pillows, as other guests have noted.A prominent sign in each room warns that you'll be charged $100 for smoking in the room, so I figured someone cheated and the fix was to deploy an eye-watering amount of scented aerosol...until I peeled back the covers on the bed, revealing recent blood stains on the covered box spring... I try to imagine an innocent way for the blood to have been splashed there... seemingly from the floor, but I'm not a forensics expert. Also can't explain how the person responsible for cleaning the room missed this, unless there was so much blood to clean up that dealing with the nickel and dime-sized stains on the side of the mattress seemed overly-fastidious.On the plus side, the WiFi worked, the water at the tap ran hot right away, the towels smelled of bleach, so they were clean, the mattress was sealed up in a good bed-bug resistant mattress protector, and the heaters provided, while cute in an incongruous "little house on the prairie" way, barely worked... This kept the room cool for a good night's sleep.Didn't risk having the coffee provided by the host in the morning! Just got the hell out!Note: very sympathetic to what must be a difficult business to run in a desert town off the beaten trail, however, the price per room is over what we paid for much nicer and actually clean accommodations elsewhere around Death Valley. Would not have left a bad review if the rooms had been clean.

My family and I both got really itchy after sitting on the beds and had little red bumps develop. Sheets & pillow cases were badly stained room not very clean gross smell. Room was freezing there was only a small and very old space heater. No staff to communicate with we ended up leaving and staying somewhere else fearing there may be bed bugs that would ruin our belongings. Do not recommend !

Very much enjoyed our one night stay here! Very close to Death Valley (which was closed due to storm damage, but the nearby open-air museum and ghost town was awesome to stroll through)The employees we encountered were all super nice and we had great conversations with them. They told us we could pet the donkeys, which of course we did!We had an issue with the lock to our room after hours, which they came and addressed immediately. It's a small, lovely town with lovely people!Safety: Felt very safe, and the exteriors of the buildings all have security cams.Walkability: Could walk to the restaurants

My husband and I stayed here and it was honestly the cutest place I’ve ever stayed. I loved the decor and the theme of the room itself. Every person we came into contact with were probably some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. The donkeys were a fun plus! My only complaint is that the room was really hot. We got in late at night and the window unit that’s used to cool the room was turned off- it took about four hours for it to cook the room down enough to fall asleep. I know they’re expensive to keep running but if you know someone’s going to be in that room and you live in a desert environment then I’d probably go turn it on in the morning :)

I had car troubles and made it to atomic inn. Jordi was really helpful and so sweet! Good people that work there! The room was clean and the bathroom was great!

This is a funky little pace in town far from everywhere. The gentleman working was great! Location is good, donkeys are nearby, and each room has its own little table outside. The remote was missing from my room and when I got a spare, it would only turn the tv on and off. My friends tv wouldn’t respond the remote at all.Pillows are really thin and there were only 3 for a king, but there is a “friendly” sign in each room threatening to charge $25 if one goes missing. These were bad pillows-who would steal one? Thankfully I travel with my own.Overall I would select this motel out of the others in town. I was very happy with the room, service, and price.

Very friendly staff and a super cute place to stay. My room was nice and you can't beat the price. Donkeys hanging out just outside and approachable. Loved the Alien theme. If you are looking for fancy this is not that. This is small town feel with a friendly staff and great prices. It was also very quiet. Room was clean and came with everything needed for my stay.

This is an inexpensive place, and you get what you pay for. Don't expect plush towels, fresh flowers, or a fruit basket, but it is nice for the price. There were 3 bath towels, 3 hand towels, and 3 washcloths. They were thin but clean. I always get rooms with 2 beds, just so I can have 4 pillows. One of the reviews said that there was no dead bolt, no smoke detector, and the fridge and microwave didn't work. That is wrong. Everything was good. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable, the staff was nice. They recommended dinner at the VFW and breakfast at Mel's diner...both were great. This was the halfway point from Phoenix to Reno. If I have to take that trip again, I will happily stay here again!

I had to cancel my reservation last minute. So my review is not about amenity, but about very rude letter I've gotten from the property, even though they charge me for the stay.We did not have any phone service in the mountains, the Tioga road has a Record (!!) delay in opening, and the heatwaves in the deserts were pushing Records. So we could not arrive to Beatty as planned. There was no need to acuse me in bad planning on the top of the fact that the owner charged me almost 100$ for the room we cood not come to.

When we travel we like to support small businesses. We also enjoy the quirkiness of places we visit.Unfortunately, the Atomic Inn was a bit too "quirky" for us. When we arrived at 8:00 PM, the office was already closed. There was a list of names taped on the door (including ours), including room numbers. There were envelopes which included receipts and room keys. I wonder what may have happened if someone happened to take our envelope decided to take our room? Please note it was 35° when we checked in. I understand that for most of the year heaters aren't necessary, but a space heater was provided. Unfortunately, it didn't do anything to warm the room, so at 11:00 we called the manager who came over a few minutes later with a bigger space heater. He pointed out that our window was open (only about an inch), which we hadn't noticed because curtains were closed. Anyway, it took a while, but problem was solved. The beds were a bit worn, sagging in the middle a bit, and only one thin blanket was provided on each bed.I will say that the hot water was great, and towels were big and fluffy.Would we stay there again? No we would not, but we did have an interesting story to tell.

Simple/modest and clean place to stay when I visited the area for a couple days. My allergies have problems with strong scents usually used in the cleaning products at budget priced hotel/motel places. Here they seemed to have used mostly unscented cleaning products and I was happy and comfortable. AC worked fine. Lobby coffee was good. Burros were friendly.

I was driving all day from Vegas and got in a little late in the evening. Most motels were full and others weren’t responding. I passed by the atomic and was greeted instantly with an eager employee ready to help us get situated. He went out of his way to ensure we were taken care of promptly and professionally. It was a HOT day. But the room cooled off quickly and we enjoyed a great night sleep. I’d love to leave a rounded comment including any negative experience. But there was none. All was great. I will be timing my commutes to be able to stop in and spend the night here on. Y frequent trips north and south. Thanks so much for the hospitality !!!

Friendly and funky, simple hotel. We had a large comfortable room, it’s basic and a little dated in places but perfect for staying near Death Valley. Make sure to explore the town of Beatty which has many hidden gems. And the donkeys!

I stayed here for 2 nights because, I was camping in Death Valley when a dust storm hit. This motel might have the cheapest rates but the service and rooms are better than what you expected. The customer service here absolutely amazing. WIFI: WiFi here is pretty good, not the best as it is spotty sometimes but mainly good. I would definitely stay here again if I had the chance to!

I was getting into town fairly late while traveling cross country with my family. They were super friendly and helpful staff, with good recommendations on local food that was still open. The had no problem letting my Great Dane stay with us and had clean safe comfortable beds. I wish I could have stayed long enough to meet the donkeys but my copilot was in a rush to get on the road. I will absolutely stop here again if given the chance.

Spent the last week staying at the Atomic Inn. It was very clean and quiet. Friendly staff. I liked how the motel was tucked away off the main road. We had our own entrance to our room with a mini fridge and microwave available to use in the room. The location of the motel was nice because it was close to a gas station, Family Dollar, restaurants, public laundromat, and a small coffee stand. Also there are donkeys that roam the town and often come into the motel parking lot.

September 6 room 5-There were bed bugs on the pillows. Went to the front desk to talk about it and there was no one there so I left. I have since reached out twice for a refund and haven’t gotten a response. Pretty gross.

A decent place to stay if you are just passing through for a night or two, and only need the bare essentials. While the rooms have fridges and microwaves, they lack the typical amenities of an alarm clock, coffee maker, hair dryer, and ice. My room looked a touch run down, though clean. Staff were accommodating.

I had high hopes for this place - a throwback to aliens and a bit of atomic Americana, but alas not a great stay. The good: reasonably priced, spacious, and off the main road so not a lot of traffic noise. The bad: the bed was like sleeping on a box spring, my body felt every sping, the corner that had the sink smelt like someone had urinated on the carpet, the front desk person was rude (imo), and the bathroom cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The ugly: worst towels ever! It was like trying to dry off with a wet sock. I came for the theme but not sure I'd recommend.

Stylish inn. Walking distance to store. TV is not user friendly. Looks great, but still needs more alien & nuclear art inside & outside of rooms. Great motel. Five stars!Walkability: Easy walk to convenience store.

Find another place to stay. From the outside it was cute. Once in the room, it's an entirely different situation. The floor was filthy, same with the fridge and microwave. The toilet had something brown and crusty on the side, the tub was dirty as was the sink. Totally run down. It appears there are also full-time residents there and unfortunately the ones across from my room chose to go outside on their steps and play music and talk very loud late at night. Did not feel safe.

Enjoyed my stay. Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly. It is a retro style hotel but stuff was very clean and in good shape. I'm only addressing it because other people complained but the space heater was enough to warm up the room. It was a newer style heater with a temp control on it so it could be set to a certain temp and shut off. It will not be needed most of the year. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.

The platform we booked our trip on cancelled our reservation while we were within Death Valley NP and without reception.I called the front desk who comforted me saying we could try to work it out once I arrived. He greeted me when I arrived, and worked out the stay for my family and me though it was already later in the evening. He really went above and beyond for my family so we could enjoy the town of Beatty, the wild donkeys, and other nearby attractions.I’m so grateful for his willingness to help us and his kindness. Will definitely stay here again.

From before we even arrived our experience with the Inn was pleasant. One of the front desk attendants, Brad, checked in to see if we were arriving and that we were safe on the way out. The room was cheap, clean, and even had a mini fridge; the hotel we stayed at the night before in Vegas, for double the price, didn't even have one. If you don't need a frilly stay this is the place for you. It was perfect to drive into Death Valley from and overall a great experience!

Cheapest place in town, sounded funky but clean and quiet. With only those expectations it did not disappoint. Off the main road, so nice and quiet. Old, but trying real hard to update on a budget, not bad, and clean. Staff at counter were nice and efficient. Did have a fridge and microwave, but no coffee pot in the room. Sheet was too small for the bed and we had to adjust it 4x. Small upgrades would really increase rating. For budget accommodation it is very clean, my most important element, so I would probably stay here again.

Owners were absolutely nice and care a lot about people passing by. Rooms are quite old but functional, mattress is very shallow so you might need a few nights to be used to. Free coffee the morning at 7:30am, nice to have a little talk with owners. It's close to Death valley entrance, easy to find and park. I recommend this place and would stay again.
