Great food and amazing views! Service is friendly, but the cafe gets busy mid afternoon and it's hard to keep up. Good prices compared to other National Park restaurants. The kids grilled cheese was too fancy for our kids, but the chicken fingers were great. Chicken slaw wrap was delicious! Chips were awesome and they gave us a ton of them. Highly recommend!Kid-friendliness: Lots of kid options!

This café is amazing. Without a doubt the best place to eat in Great Basin and I would definitely recommend you try it at least once if you are touring the Great Basin. First off, the food is homemade. All of the food is delicious and the homemade soup is amazing. The food also doesn’t take too long to make and only takes 10-15 minutes. The coffee here is also very good and they have a decent selection of beverages to choose from. The ice cream here and shakes are phenomenal. If you order an ice cream cone they give you a more than generous serving of amazing ice cream. If you order the thick-shakes, you will not be let down. These too are amazing with the perfectly thick texture and amazing selection of flavors. The customer service is also amazing and the employees make you feel at home. They will check on you and ask you how you are doing and make conversation if you want to. Overall, I would highly recommend this café. Also, the gift shop has an amazing selection of board games and competitive prices.

If you're looking for a quick bite to eat near the visitor center, there's a small, no-frills roadside cafe with a gift shop nearby. While the cafe may not be fancy, it offers a great view and is a convenient spot to grab a bite to eat. The gift shop, however, may be a bit disorganized - during our visit, products were not properly shelved or organized, giving the impression of a somewhat forgotten cafe lost in the middle of the desert. That being said, the shop still offers some great products, so it may be worth checking out if you have some time to spare.

Basic little gift shop and snack bar mostly. Not really a Cafe. Got a great latte though. Food is chili, hot dogs, nachos and salad bar....They have beer on tap. Coffee as well. Souvenirs were so expensive here. T-shirts were $30! The view is nice from a table in there.Vegetarian options: Very little options, except a small salad bar and nachos.

It’s a wonderful change to get good food at a National Park. We ate there several times. We tried the salads, and grilled cheese. The ice cream was really high quality and the toppings were excellent. The food was a little pricey but the ice cream was very reasonable.

This place has rooted in my memories. It says something when I write review months after my visited. We stayed in May on the gorgeous Upper Lehman campground nearby. The nights were quite cold and even frosty, as we slept in a simple tent. The Great Basin Cafe offered a cosy place to warm up with a over-delicious hot chocolate (doubtlessly the best I ever had in my life) and mouthwatering meals for an affordable price. The staff was super kind and were being themselves. We've visited 8 national parks in the west and so also around 8 park cafes, but this place stands out for us, by far. Not forget to mention the beautiful view on the Great Basin desert.

DO NOT go here if you have a bigger group, or at least DO NOT let them group your ticket, unless, of course, you want to wait over an hour for your food.Absolutely absurd amount of time to process food orders especially when others were coming and going before they decided to start preparing our food.Food was decent, not great. Seasoned fries were not good. Order the regulate fries instead. Service was unapologetic. The ice cream looked good, but I wasn’t about to get back in the line to order anything else after the long wait for food.Find somewhere else.

Food was good enough, service was meh, milkshakes were great! Love that it's a good little spot to fill up before a tour of the cave. Beer, coffee, food, and some souvenirs.

We had a great experience at this wonderful cafe with an amazing view and terrific food! The staff was friendly and the owner took time to have a nice conversation with us. The hotdogs we ordered were very well done - great all-beef franks topped with delicious dill slaw and a heaping helping of delectable smoked pork - knife and fork necessary! The house-made ribbon fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned as well. We had a 5-star lunch while looking out over the breath-taking Great Basin! We will be back! Take time to get a pic with the beautiful bristle cone pine standing between the upper and lower parking lots. For a quaint and delicious cafe meal, try this place out and you won’t be disappointed. If you like this review, let me know with a thumbs up :)

What a lovely place... Let’s be clear this is inside of the visitors center, weird right? It’s pretty intimate for a national park food establishment. I can’t be certain but I felt the staff were very close, family perhaps and it was their restaurant. They were personable and professional, the food was indulgent and delicious and great for post hike or pre hike calories to get you up or over the hill. Seriously delicious! Thanks ladies!

Fantastic cafe and gift shop - if you need a meal or a board game, this is the place for you!! Definitely the best cafe in a National Park that I’ve come across. Staff were also super nice.

Delicious breakfast with a spectacular view and courteous staff. This is top notch food, and the fact that it’s inside a national park is just even more impressive. Thanks for taking care of us!

Amazing staff, good food, and decent prices. You'd think the food would be frozen concoctions since this place isn't near any large area, but the food is really well made and not from frozen bags! The homemade bread is great, breakfast burritos are good, and fries are awesome. Definitely recommend!

This place is such a gem. Seriously I don't know what is in the water in Baker but they make up for in quality of food options what is lacking in quantity. This place in particular had some of the best french fries I've ever had. Also had a hot dog topped with pulled pork and an egg/grilled cheese sandwich, both of which were excellent. Also sold cooler t shirts than the actual national park visitor center gift shop. Seriously stop by if you ever find yourself here, you will not regret it.

Fantastic treat inside a National Park. We had both Dinner and Breakfast the next day here and both were great. The grilled cheese breakfast sandwich is to die for. Add bacon! They also have a great assortment of park merchandise and an awesome collection of board games! The staff is quite friendly. A great place to visit!

Best National park food I've ever had and I've been to a lot of parks. Not cheap but well worth it. I had the smoked BBQ chicken sandwich and the chicken was tender, Smokey and not dry. Garnished very well too! Spend the extra $3 on the hand cut fries! The view is also perfect and the service was great. My wife really enjoyed the potato salad and the kids loved the bagel sanwiches.

Not your typical National Park café food. The prices may seem a bit high, but the size of the nachos and chili fries borders on the obscene. Delicious.Good and friendly service, too. Just keep in mind that the place gets slammed about every 30 minutes or so when a cave tour gets out. Plan accordingly. Or just do like we did and sit there admiring the view down to Baker and out into Utah.

Amazing homemade food with quality ingredients, shared with love. We had the BBQ pork sandwich and the soup of the day (made by the granny of the owner!). Even the chef went to check if we were satisfied with the food! Best food we have had in a National Park, which is also great because is the only place around in hundred miles!

I was happily surprised to see such an appetizing menu in the middle of the desert! I have been to 29 national parks in the USA, and this is by far the best food there is within a national park. The smoked / BBQ meats sandwiches are delicious, and so are the homemade curly fries. They also have a great selection of beer! It is located right next to Lehman Caves visitor center, so plan to arrive an hour before your cave tour to grab lunch, or come back after for a beer. They do have a really nice selections of national parks souvenirs. The staff is also very friendly!

This is definitely worth the detour off highway 50 for lunch! Unassuming little place that gives you the opportunity to check out the gorgeous surroundings and enjoy a good meal. Simple ingredients with all the right amounts of seasoning and flavor. Highly recommend the pulled pork and potato salad!
