Not much to see or do around here besides having a nice view of the Great Basin NP or the night sky.It would be nice to have a little replica of the native village as it was 700 years ago instead of a pach of dirt

It was interesting to read about. I was dissappointed they reburied all the findings to preserve them so there's nothing to see. The cows in the neighboring ranch were very interested in us and came to visit.

This is a free to visit area outside of Great Basin National Park. There is an informational booklet (only 2 were there when we visited) that gave information about what we were viewing. It was interesting to learn about the people who lived here.

Depends on what your expectations are. This is in a prime location to view Great Basin National Park and to stargaze. I spent hours here watching the sun set and rise with the night sky in between. This spot has great energy.

Baker's archaeological site was okay. If you like walking and seeing different things then this is good for you. It was cold when I visited so we didn't do the walking tour.

Interesting history about the natives and how they lived but all the adobe remains have been baried to be protected. There was only one book onsite but this area doesn't get too many visitors at one time. There are 8 information spots along the path. Easy walking. Path is no longer than 500 or so feet.

Not a lot to see but interesting information is available...so make sure you pick up (and return) an informational brochure. We enjoyed it!

This site has been excavated contains the remains of a Fremont Indian village occupied from approximately 1220 to 1295 CE. Beautiful place to visit. Big VIEWS!

Historical excavation location. Nice booklets explains what you are seeing. Not much left but you can imagine trying to live here 700 years ago.

Hardly worth visiting unless you need a bathroom stop. Minimal information provided except at the parking lot head where you can read a book that tells you what the numbers mean as you walk around.

Takes some imagination to travel back in time to be with the Fremont Indians. Good place to stretch your legs.

Cool place but don't recommend picnic area unless you want flies all over you and your food. Opted out and just had lunch in our car.

Easy parking, a short walk, and free to see set the expectations for this exhibit at a very resonable level. That said, if you read the pamphlet and follow the self guided tour, its worth seeing.

Neat but small site. All the area has been reburied to protect it after the dig was done. The old evidence is the protective caps on the walls and the markers. There is one book in a box near the entrance that is used as a guide book, it has lots of info and is a neat read. Please replace it!I wouldn't drive out of my way just to come see this but it is worth the stop for sure if you are near by.

Went in the middle of a hot summer day in Aug, so we didn't end up staying too long, also got a little mixed up on the self guided tour so that could have gone better. Wish I would have considered this spot for star gazing the night before, seems like an ideal place for that.

No information on anything. Just some numbered spots with most spots having nothing visually to notice. The end of the trail had animal Monday that I assume were the place of homes, but with no info posted we have no idea what we were looking at.

Nice spot. Short distance from the main hwy.A person can bbq, rest from a long drive, check out the interactive tour (short), or look at the view.

Visually underwhelming, as the excavations have been filled in and the only visible evidence of the Native American settlement was created by the archeologists. If you go, definitely read the brochure provided, as it provides lots of information about the people & environment - with a surprise "reveal" at the end that can make the visit worthwhile!

Came here for a sunrise presentation today by NP Ranger Steve as part of the 2015 Astronomy Festival. The site itself is a bit underwhelming as they excavations were re-filled and the outlines of the excavated lots "interpretively restored", so all you really see is the outlines of a cluster of mounds a short walk from the covered picnic and parking area. The sunrise, however, was absolutely breathtaking! A fabulous viewpoint to see the dawn break into day with the first crest of the sun over a postcard-worth panorama of mountain along the horizon line!

This place seems like a joke and a bore until you get the field guide and walk out to the ruins. The are ground level and below so you can only see them when upon them. TOTALLY worth the stop.

It takes 20 minutes. There are guide books to read and a short path to walk. The remains settlement was 700 years old.

I was really disappointed. I was hoping to see the actual dig, not it covered up with something kids could have done to mark the dig sites.

For enthusiasts only. Nice and shady picknick spot but the site is not really worth a visit. The information stand displays some background facts and a trail guide is available too.

Use the paper guide (and then return it for the next guy). The study us over, so things have been replaced, but the guide walks you through it and outs your mind to work!

NOT A REVIEW, JUST INFORMATION. GOOGLE MAPS SHOWS A DIRT ROAD FROM BAKER THAT GOES TO THE SITE. THIS IS A PRIVATE DRIVE AND NOT NOT NOT THE WAY TO THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE.. STAY ON THE HIGHWAY UNTIL THE PAVED ROAD.

What a waste of time this was. There is nothing to see if you don't have a great imagination. The bathroom there gets the only star I'm giving this place.I'm wondering where all the actual artifacts are being kept. That's where I want to go.
