Very clean and neat little place. The sheets and towels were so fresh smelling. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. There is really nothing close by a far as eating especially breakfast. We were grateful for having a place to stay.Rooms: Cozy and comfortable.Nearby activities: Nothing really to do.Food & drinks: We ate in international Cafe and it was good. The other place was closed.

"Cozy Mountain" is definitely an apt name for this hotel. We came in mid-february, in the cold ice & snow, and were delighted with the little room we had (it was a double suite!) The beds were comfortable, the rooms were spotless, and our check-in was nice and easy. The gentleman was very helpful, and made sure we were well taken care of, I didn't get his name but he was very hospitable and kind. The best part was hanging out with the random cat that likes to sit on the warm heating units. He was super friendly and kept us company during our comings and goings. Highly recommended for travelers on the US 50!

Everyone was extremely friendly and cheerful. When I woke up and came out of my room on the day I was leaving, a man that worked there called out to let me know that I had a flat tire. He already had all of his stuff ready to repair the flat and got to work on it right away after we talked, expecting nothing in return. What a lifesaver. Also, the motel cats (outdoor) were very friendly and the bed was very comfortable.

We were so pleased with the service, as well as the rooms. We knew we'd be arriving late, but forgot to call until after the main office was closed. Before I could even leave a message, I was receiving a callback. She was so kind and helpful, letting me know exactly how to retrieve my key.We booked our room only the day prior and took the only room left with two beds. They were twins, but extremely comfortable and fine enough for a good night's rest. The rooms were clean and I couldn't hear the other guests at all. I'm not sure if this was due to everyone being asleep at 9pm(unlikely) or if the rooms were truly that well insulated, but man, that was wonderful! We make this 12 hour trip at least once a year. Cozy Motel is exactly at the halfway mark and we're definitely returning every time from now on.

Stayed in May on the way to Seattle from Phoenix. Check in instructions were simple, the room was clean and the bathroom looked newly done up and was gorgeous. Everyone there was super friendly. Should I find myself in Austin again I know where I am staying.Food & drinks: Not many food options in town, Grandma's had a nice looking menu and good food.

This is a must stay motel in a town with so much history. We were in the 2 twin bed unit. It was the perfect price for us seeking a small, economy room. The other amenities made up for the dorm-sized space such as firm comfortable beds, fresh linen and bedsheets, lovely continental-like shower soap dispenser, refrigerator, microwave and heater. It was very quiet. We enjoyed seeing 4 deer in the parking area and visiting with the resident cat outside. The owner was welcoming, and knowledgeable about directions and the town. Coffee was available very early in the morning. We just wished we had eaten at the Grandma's restaurant! The menu looked very good. Visit the memorial park just a few blocks up the I-50, east of the motel.

We stayed about 3 weeks ago, checked in late with no one at the front desk we were told to just grab our room key off the counter and to not wake the on-site employee for any reason. Got to a filthy room - bed had been made but disgusting sheets covered in hair and soil stains. The bathroom had not been cleaned either: hairs and old bar of soap left in shower. Had to sleep on top of sheets and cover pillows with towels which gave a horrible night's sleep.Called the owner the next day and she was kind to offer giving us a full refund for our stay. As of today I've called a hand full of times with no answer or returned calls to my voicemail and still no refund. Wouldn't have left this review if owner followed thru on refund. We feel it was way overpriced for what we received.

I agree with all the 5-star ratings. I have stayed at the Cozy Mountain eight different times over the past dozen or so years. Whenever I ride my motorcycle across central Nevada, I stop in Austin at the Cozy Mountain. The rooms have been super clean and the beds very comfy without exception. While virtually everything in town is next to US 50, highway noise is not a problem. If your heart is set on a microwaved "free" breakfast at a chain motel, you'll have to drive 110 miles west to Fallon or 150 miles east to Ely. Don't do it. The Cozy recently opened "Grandma's Restaurant" just a five minute walk down the street. The menu is surprisingly varied and the food delicious. The Cozy Mountain is a treasure. Stay in a unique motel in a small town with a ton of history going back to the 1860s. The owner, Sarah, is a jewel. She's a friendly and savvy motel owner who aims to make sure every visitor enjoys their stay and will want to come back to the Cozy Mountain Motel.

We stayed for 3 nights while hunting in the mountains around Austin, NV. The room was clean and the beds were really comfortable! The shower had conditioner (yay!) and the heater was easy to operate and kept the room the perfect temperature. The microwave and refrigerator were a must (the availability of restaurant food in Austin, NV is hit or miss) and the location next to the mini-mart made it so we never went hungry. We will definitely stay here again!

Traveling from Tucson to Portland, we stopped for the night in Austin, Nevada to stay at the Cozy Mountain Hotel and eat dinner at Grandma's Diner (owned by the same folks). What a fabulous place! The two-queen bed suite was perfect. The beds were firm and very comfortable and were nicely separated. The dinner and drinks were delicious, and the owner was delightful and talked to us behind the bar while we ate and when she wasn't serving others. It was so much nicer than anything we expected or were hoping for.

This place is so lovely. We were travelling from Yosemite National Park and needed a place to stopover as we headed east. They were so accommodating as we arrived for a very late check-in. The room was comfy, and the ladies that run the place are kind and welcoming. Plus, they have the cutest cats and chickens on the property:) Also, I went to Champs food truck based on the other reviews here. They serve impossible burgers too. Delicious and have that home-made feel. Actually, they had the best tasting burgers I had on the road for my two-month cross-country road trip. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in the neighbourhood!

We had read the reviews and decided it was a must. Driving from KS to Southern CA. We were not disappointed. This place was just as the name states, a cozy mountain inn with character and charm. Wonderful beds, high quality linens, and great shower. Yes rooms were small but perfect. Check in was at Grandma’s Cafe two blocks up the road and we enjoyed a great dinner then back to the room. Guest were sitting out chatting at the outside tables and on the porch. Had a resident cat and chicken to greet us. Just two crazy cousins on a road trip. Don’t miss this place.

We spent the night halfway between Phoenix, Arizona, and Vancouver, Washington. From the looks of the outside, I was not expecting much, I just wanted to sleep. We had to go up to the restaurant to check in, and the waitress told us we would get a good night's sleep. She was not lying. The room was a basic room with a bathroom attached. The bed. I have never slept so peacefully and continuously... ever! It was a cloud. I was so refreshed in the morning. It has been 2 weeks since I was there, and I am ready to travel back, just to get another good night's sleep in room #6. If the owners or the manager would kindly tell me the manufacturer of the bed, I promise to stop in the Cozy Mountain Motel every time I drive through.

Great little motel. Simple, small rooms but very clean and they have everything you need, including fridge and microwave, comfy beds with crisp linens, nice hand soap and dispenser shampoo, conditioner and body wash in tub/shower. Walk into the tiny front lobby and ring the bell on the counter for service. They have a Keurig in the lobby with organic k cups. Vladimir the motel cat was cute and friendly, and there were chickens and deer wondering around across the street. They also own Grandma's restaurant which is a 5 minute walk up towards the center of town on the other side of the road. We had great pizza for dinner there and excellent breakfast also.

Stayed with my dad, in suite 8 on April 19th 2023 on our lonelinest road trip. Such a pleasant surprise. Wasn't sure when we pulled up, but it was the best place we stayed on the route. Roger was such an amazing host, totally laid back, and helpful and cheerful. The rooms were nice and clean and we had a Roku, a large bathroom and a fridge and microwave. The wireless and Roku was my fav, everywhere else was just cable tv.Would recommend and would stay again. Thanks Roger! 10/10.Rooms: Two bedroom.

Cute little place. Looks like an older motel, so the rooms are small, but they've been nicely updated. VERY clean, comfy beds. Owner and everyone who worked there was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. The owner has also just opened a bar/restaurant a short walk away that serves pizza. We were the first customers!! Pizza (sausage, onion, hot peppers, and fresh mozzarella) was tasty and very reasonable. If i knew the name of it, I'd give it a five star review, too! LOVE to see people working hard to build up their town.
