FINAL REVIEW:The matter has been resolved with a good talk, smiles and handshakes. High marks to Ideal management.Follow Up:Fair enough. I have impaired hearing, so phones do not work for me. I have a 10:30 am at Brodstone Wednesday the 20, day after tomorrow. It shouldn’t take long, and I can stop by the store afterwards if that’s convenient, and we can talk.A response to your reply:1. My return address was on the envelope, in the appropriate place.2. I signed my full name, first, middle and surname, toward the bottom of my letter. Below that was the name of the community where I live.3. Your employee did not apologize once, never mind “repeated “. As I stated in my letter, she said”Have a great day “ and resumed her work.4. Implying your employee needed to distance herself from me ads a slur to an already unfortunate and unnecessary situation.5. There is nothing festive about joking about a stranger’s looks, especially 2 months prior to Christmas.6. I’ve had no unpleasant encounters with Walmart employees anywhere I’ve lived.To whom it may concern:Mid-afternoon, October 24, I entered Ideal Market via its north door. Almost immediately, an Ideal employee, female, perhaps in her 40s, longer reddish brown hair, approached me.We live in an age of pandemics, I’m a senior with health issues, and she stepped into a proximity I wasn’t comfortable with.She greeted me as “Santa “ and told me she’d been a very good girl, and needed a new car.When my spouse recognized what was happening, that I was being targeted because of my white hair and whiskers, she attempted to signal the employee and stop her, saying no, no, no.The employee didn’t see her, or she ignored her, and when she was done went into the bakery area.My spouse said to her “he hates that”.The employee didn’t apologize. She said “Have a great day” and returned to her work. Her demeanor seemed dismissive. Having created a situation, she was now done with it.I don’t know this employee, I’ve never had a conversation with her, and I have no recollection of seeing her prior to this incident.It’s always inappropriate and unacceptable for a person to assume a stranger shares the same values and boundaries, or even the same sense of humor, but it’s even more so in a public professional setting.We enjoy shopping at Ideal Market, and until this incident every employee we’ve encountered has been pleasant and professional. But this particular employee needs some guidance in professional behavior, and in boundaries, both physical and social.———————————————————————October 26, 2023, I signed a copy of the communication above and mailed it to Ideal Market, Superior, Nebraska. Nearly 2 months have passed and I’ve not received a response.There’s a Walmart an hour away, and the savings, and the selection, justifiy the gas, time and effort required. Local loyalty is admirable, even preferable, when possible, but that loyalty needs to be reciprocal, with a respect that’s mutual. An employee who accosts and mocks a customer, and managers indifferent and disinterested when informed of that, make that relationship impossible.

Store is clean and organized. They carry several GF options, which I need and appreciate. Customer service is good. I'm new to the area and was very surprised with their carry-your-groceries-out for-you-service. Impressive. The prices are a little high given the income of Superior's residents being semi-low.

I have had the WORST encounter with your baker Caleb Isom! As I was browsing the cookies, I saw that he was adding more to the display but he sneezed on them and acted like nothing happened! I confronted him by asking why he didn't toss them when he sneezed on them and he was so rude and defensive! I asked for the manager and he refused to tell me but a sweet young woman approached to see what's happening and gave me a discount as well as his name. He should be fired, someone could get sick!

Visiting in town - rather, just passing through - and we found what we needed: gallons of drinking water for less than they are at Walmart, and a couple other items. Seemed like a nice little store. Self-checkout option, which we used.

Stopped in here while traveling for a restock while traveling. Not a full blown grocery store but more of a hometown market. Had a great selection of everyday items and the staff were amazingly kind and courteous. Prices are higher than your chain stores (to be expected)The bakery section here specifically is to die for! We grabbed some of the homemade deserts and we'll be back for more before we get back on the road.

Shopped at your wonderful store yesterday and when I got home I seen a discrepancy on my bill, called and the manager corrected it in a minute. The store is clean, the isles are marked for easy fast shopping and the staff are friendly and professional and they take out the groceries for you, which is awesome. I have to admit I haven't been to Walmart in 9 months as you have to wait in line forever. I am a firm believer in shopping locally as it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out with gas prices you actually save money along with their great prices on their goods. Well done Ideal Market.

Rude cashier can't count your change back and get annoyed when I had to count it before moving out of the way. Store was out of most all things advertised and didn't care either. Guess this is why I only go there when I can't go out of town or anywhere else.

Very helpful employees. They have all you need for a small community. The store manager was very helpful and took time to listen to my questions. Overall a fantastic small town shopping experience.

Pricey as to be expected for a small town store, as overhead, employees, and upkeep cost money, but they typically have a much broader variety of goods than comparable small town stores. As a cook, I have been pleasantly surprised at the less conventional goods they carry and more upscale options they had.I'm docking a star only because they have recently wiped out the dollar/discount aisle, brioche buns, and several really awesome thing I have come to hit up on the regular due to recent renovations.The staff has always been very cordial, I love that they do to car assistance as a default even though I am not old, and I hope to see more fantastic items come up as the store continues to flourish.One minor gripe I have is about the ground beef, come on guys, run it through a grinder to loosen it up instead of just cutting a tube of beef in sections and packaging it. It just looks lazy and the straight from tube option is less than ideal for burgers and meals that call for crumbly beef. Texture is very much a thing when it comes to the maillard reaction and browning!

This place is ok. If I were to base my review solely off customer service it would be a hands down 5 star. Friendly staff and smiling faces but I went in there and bought things I had saved on a Walmart list (walmart price was $59 and some change) when I checked out I was shocked that it was $123.89. So for the jab to the pocket book I only give them 3 stars

Just passing through town, so didn't do a lot shopping, but nice store and staff was very helpful. Found a couple if items that have been missing from our "big city" stores for months. Very glad we stopped.

The staff is always very helpful and helping you to find what you need . The store is always neat and tidy. I love the store to trunk service. You are always met with a smile. Definitely a wonderful store to shop.

Great selection for a small store in a small town. They have 100% of what you need and 95% of what you'd want. If they don't have it, they'll order it. In addition to this they have THE BEST donuts!

It's kind of expensive I've only been there once that was me with my niece and nephew about a week ago. I think it's the only grocery store in Superior NE. I'm just here on vacation

Lots of good deals..Great meat, and wonderful deli..Grocery, lottery, good service and real friendly folks..Has about everything you need or want..Open 7days a week..They carry out your groceries and put them in the car for ya..Nice laid back local food store in your hometown..
