I have gone to all the Long Dog Fat Cat (LDFC)stores and love them all! I got to this one most because it carries more of the items my dog loves. But I highly recommend all LDFC stores.

I groom cats here on the weekends — I rent the space from them, so am not exactly affiliated with them, if that makes sense. Like a hairdresser renting a chair. Just giving full disclosure. First off I want to say that this was the ONLY place of about 10 different places I contacted (wish I was kidding) that would allow me to groom at their shop. I have been grooming cats at LDFC (first Village Pointe) for 4 years now and they have been so wonderful to me. The people that run these stores are genuinely nice and really care about people’s pets. They helped me find a food for my kitty with irritable bowel — finally at 13 she had a food that her system could handle. I was amazed. And they special order it for me. They have great lines of goat’s milk (which cats can easily digest) and lots of healthy treats for cats — LOVE the Vital Essentials line! I really enjoy coming to LDFC for a lot of great products for my dog. Unfortunately, they have implemented a policy that they allow the employees’ dogs to accompany them to work *off leash*. Yes, they are roaming off leash in the store while yours has to be leashed.I am unsure how long this has been going on, or my first experience dealing with it, but I find that a very unsafe situation for both customers and employees. Yes, I understand that you can ask them to leash the dog but what about the first few seconds when a customer comes in? What if the dog bolts and runs off? When I came in with my dog the other day the off leash dog in the store was certainly not well trained and didn’t have recall when he it was hindering us from even waking down the aisles. What if the customer who comes in has a fear for that specific breed and it just comes running to them when they open the door? What if they think their dog is friendly but another dog walks in they decide they don’t like or something reactive happens?I get that this is a pet shop and they want their employees’ dogs to be involved, but I personally think this is a bad situation waiting to happen. This isn’t a dog park and I believe this should be reconsidered. It’s just a situation where I can no longer bring my own dog to the store for their safety and ultimately mine.

Was so hopeful this could be our go to place for grooming as it’s super convenient to where we live. Grooming experience was not good & after multiple attempts to have her groom them shorter like we had asked & showed photos of, just decided to leave. Got home to find both dogs still had eye goobers in both of their inner corners and their tails hadn’t even been brushed through. For $102 I expected at least little things like that to be done.
