I like it here for their food and outdoor tables (huge plus: dog-friendly). We come here regularly for outdoor dining - it feels almost like you are in Europe. However, their service is terrible, and the food comes out painfully slow. You have to wait good 15 minutes before getting water and 45-50 minutes to have food served. And waiters and waitresses often forget what you requested. Seems like they are understaffed as well.

I’ve been wanting to try this place out for over a year and finally did. Really enjoyed our time and it was decent enough weather to sit outside. We went on a weekday around 5pm so not busy and we were seated immediately. We started off with the charcuterie board & it was delicious! We ended up going with the server’s recommendation for our main course and it was very good & flavorful. However, the meal that I did get felt like it was something I could make myself and didn’t think it was worth the price. We still highly recommend for folks that have been wanting to check out and are looking for a date night or just want to grab an appetizer / wine. Super cute & really enjoyed the service. We’ll definitely be back again.

Amazing little restaurant in the Old Market that makes you feel like you’re in Paris. :) Sat outside on a beautiful day and felt safe in their plexiglass enclosure so you get to be outside but still feel secure. I got ratatouille for the first time and it was delicious! The free bread and butter were tasty as well. Came back later for tiramisu. :)

It makes me really sad to give La Buvette a bad review but their service and quality have really fallen off under their new management. We’ve been going to Buvette for years and especially love it for a relaxed Monday night. But this Monday night didn’t go well. It’s common to have to wait a while to get your food, so we ordered appetizers and then after a bit ordered our entrees to try to speed things along (while the table next to us who were seated around the same time got their food promptly). Then all our food arrived at the same time. The chef helping serve said that they had forgotten about our order, and the server said “well, that’s the way the cookie crumbles.” Buvette service is notoriously brusque, so we brushed it off. But later, we asked the server what kind of cheeses they had put on the meat and cheese plate (one of Buvette’s signature dishes), and the server said she didn’t know. We were really surprised about that so asked a few more questions and the server started explaining that the chef is going to quit in a week and just cuts up whatever cheeses at the beginning of a shift and that’s that. Later, the shift manager came to talk with us and said that it’s pretty common that the servers don’t what they are serving in their meats and cheeses plates but they are hoping to resolve the issue soon. I sure hope so - it puts their waitstaff in a really awkward position. All in all, the care, quality and conviviality that we look for at Buvette aren’t there at the moment. I hope they find it.

Great place if you wanna feel fancy! The wine selection is great, and the food is fantastic. The bread is fantastic, and the hummus is sooooo good. The hot grilled sandwich is delicious, my friend described it as “tomato soup as a sandwich”. There are a couple vegetarian options on the menu!Vegetarian options: The Hot Grilled Sandwich, Hummus, Bread and Cheese, Salad, and some specials are vegetarian.

💥Support Local💥Definitely one of my FAVORITE spots in Omaha - it’s a little piece of France 🇫🇷 in the Old Market! It is ALWAYS busy and well worth waiting for!It is a fantastic French experience that will flood you with memories if you’ve ever been! The wine selection is amazing and the food is out of this world! From amazing charcuterie to the finest in French Cuisine! The people watching under the covered and heated patio is simply wonderful! And just like in France 🇫🇷 smoking is allowed on the patio!🚨A couple of warnings👉Seating is first come first served and unless you want the French attitude from your server please wait to sit until table is wiped off.👉🚽 toilets are downstairs so if stairs are an issue - go before your visit!

I'm not sure what to rate this spot. Honestly, the food, wine, and ambiance is a 4/5 but the service and treatment of patrons is below a 1. We had a family gathering and we're excited to find a cozy spot to gather. We seemed to be welcomed until we weren't. We had a lucky find of some tables in a row. We tried to keep aisles clear and still be a family. Zack (spelling?) lost his cool on a family member and let us know how rude it was to come and move tables in this establishment. No one had problems with us moving them as we did and we were served. It seems after we ordered had food and went to pay we had what a problem we were explained to us. What a bummer! We were embarrassed and now understand the inconvenience we were upon this place. So sorry to have visited! If visiting, I recommend limiting your party to 4 or less.

I've visited this restaurant a few times now and always had a good experience. The soups here are good and so is the hummus and bread. During this visit, I ordered the lamb shank and the potato-carrot-ginger soup and they were both delicious. Place is nice and quaint. The wine selection here is endless, so if wine is your thing, you're in the right spot. They also sell bottles of wine if you're interested in taking bottles home. The food does take some time to arrive but it is always fresh and delicious.

I've been here many times since. There are hits and Misses here depending on your order, but generally I love the atmosphere here.Just a note for myself, I need to stop ordering the salad. It's not bad, it's just very vinegar forward when I was expecting more lemon.I am upgrading this to a 5 star since I do recommend this as a place to go.Previous review....If you are looking for a super casual placeto hang out and drink some wine, this is the place.A grocery store and wine bar combined located in the old market.Corkage fee is 4.50 for a bottle.Service was good to great depending on who you get. There was an extraordinarily long wait time for our food yesterday.Still, when you get it, the food is generally very good. Our main meals were excellent.Bread service is free with the meal, but if you are just having wine, it will be 3.00.The dessert had a bit more of a marshmallow texture than I expected for a Panna cotta. Was not a fan of the cookie that it came with.

As a former regular, I'm here to assure anyone who has ever felt abused or neglected by the servers that management encourages them to act that way, so don't take it personally. At the end of the day, they're just small town kids playing "big city" servers, which in their minds equates to treating customers like rubes and irritants while still expecting a 20% tip. It's all part of the La Buvette experience. (Great bread, stellar wine selection, and cozy outdoor seating are worth mentioning.)

Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere! It's very busy there during the weekends, so me and my husband like to go there on the date during the week. I'm from Europe so it reminds of home. A very cozy place with excellent food and a big selection of beverages!

I love so much about this place - the food, the wine, the bread, everything ... except one waitress. And we get her every time we go. I'm sure she considers herself an excellent waitress - running here and there wiping down tables clearing dishes, etc. But, she will not find a minute at your table. She is too busy being a waitress. God forbid if you want to ask about how a dish is made or inquire about ... anything. You have 10 seconds to place your order and if you can't... she leaves saying she will be right back ... 20 or so minutes later. Maybe she went to France to learn to be rude. It's too bad. I am discouraged from going as often as I would.

Amazing wine, food, and service! My husband and I just moved to the area and we were on the hunt to find a wine bar and La Buvette is definitely going to be a place we go to often! The food was delicious, the wine selection was fantastic, and the service was absolutely wonderful. We had a waiter and a waitress check on us a couple of times and they both were always so friendly! We sat outside on the patio with our dog and really enjoyed our lunch there. The waitstaff was also super friendly about us having our dog with us on the patio and made it obvious that they were very dog friendly which I appreciate so much! The potato soup was delicious but the fennel soup was *outstanding*!!!I’m super excited that we’ve found such a cool spot to bring friends and family to when they come to visit.Thank you La Buvette for being awesome!

The greatest little enchanted corner of the Old Market in Omaha. We celebrated an amazing sequence of events here. We met some lovely ladies there. Our service was IMPECCABLE! Simon was the best! The food and ambiance took me back to Europe. The wine was a perfect pairing. It was a lovely experience & I think we have found our new Favorite Happy Food Face Place!!!🤤🤤🤩🤩 🍾🥂🍽️✨🎊🎉

Love, love, love this place. Entrees change; menus are written daily, with a core standard menu with cheese & meat plates, salad and sandwich, etc. the daily menu items have always impressed. My most recent trip to Omaha I ate at La Buvette for both nights and had the Ragu Bianco that had a strong pepper finish, tender pork, hazelnuts, and sage. The wine selection by the glass is extensive and reasonably priced. They also offer a wide variety of bottle selections at retail that you may select to enjoy with your meal with a moderate corkage charge.

Started with the three cheese plate. It was very good. We were there at the instance of my sister in law from California. After the cheese plate, I thought things would be great. Boy, was I wrong. I ordered the crab cakes and a bowl of clam chowder soup. We waited and waited. The server was avoiding us. When he finally stopped to check on us and informed us that they were short on cooks. When our dinner finally arrived, I took one look at the crab cakes and could see they were overcooked, almost burnt. The cakes were dried out an had a scorched flavor. The soup was extremely salty. Needless to say, we were all very disappointed. Never was asked how things were. I'm not sure if I will ever return.

Best restaurant experience in Omaha. Allows you to escape and feel like you are somewhere else.La Buvette is one of the only restaurants I always love to return to. The menu is different every time I go and always unique and interesting. I generally go to different restaurants to try new things, but by going to La Buvette you will never have the same thing twice. It will always be one of the best restaurants in Omaha.

The most cozy/romantic atmosphere. It feels like you are in Europe or somewhere with so much history/character. The wine and cheeses are incredible. They serve a limited but incredible menu for lunch/dinner. Small interior and patio (amazing in summer) which makes it even more cozy and relaxing.

Review update- go next door to their new deli, Mercer & Sons! What a great selection and maybe the first real deli to be in the Old Market. This is probably my favorite restaurant in all of Omaha it has the best vibe. A great place to go if you’re by yourself or with a group of friends and you want to waste the entire day eating and drinking wine - and feeling like you’re in Paris! Plus they have the most eclectic wine selection at the best price in town.

Very unique restaurant/wine bar in the old market. The food is always amazing and they have a large seasonal rotating menu. Food selections come with their in house fresh baked bread and it is so damn good. Very large wine selection as well.

Many a moon ago, I had too much wine to drink at this amazing place... I was worried about coming back because my memories were mixed. But it's so beautiful. And the people are so friendly. And the food is so good. I definitely recommend it.
