In order to write a review I had to leave a star but I wish I could then zero stars. We took our family dog of 12 years in because he was losing his sight, hearing, sense of smell and was having bladder issues due to a slipped disk. Dr. Green suggested that we put him down….it was an extremely hard decision but watching him suffer and not being the fun loving dog he was, was unbearable as a result we felt putting him down was the best for him. I called to schedule it and his receptions was extremely rude. I was trying to be polite saying thank you and she flat out said “putting a dog down is usually hard for most normal people” I was taken aback and replied with I was trying to be polite but would not do that again. The day came to say goodbye and as my sisters and I were sobbing and telling him how good of a boy and dog he was Dr. Green came in and said “so this is the little guy we’re giving up on? We’re just giving up on him. His issues are too much so time to give up.” We had no words. He left and came back in and once again said something so horrific in the midst of us grieving and watching our family dog be put to sleep, he said “sorry Benny you’re just not going home today. Sorry bud no going home for you.” I was beyond offended and still am. It was DR. GREENS suggestion to put our dog down. It was an extremely painful decision we made as a family and for him to think we just “gave up” is crazy. The last moments with our dog were taken from us. We do not feel like we can even grieve because of how rude and malicious he was. I would not recommend anyone go there, we will not be taking any of our other dogs there.

Dr. Ron Green at Heartland is very Heartless, he's very quick to tell you he's putting your animals down without giving much of a choice or notice, he won't do everything he can to try to save your family pet like a vet should. To make it even worse, when he does euthanize them he won't even let you see them or say goodbye to them. I truly believe he doesn't actually like any animals other than his own, I very highly recommend not taking your beloved animals to this veterinary clinic and I very highly recommend taking them to Tender Hearts Clinic on A street because they ACTUALLY care for you and your pets.

Leaving 2 stars instead of one only because the receptionist was very kind & got back to me quickly. Anyways, Dr. Green said he would not operate on my dogs lipoma. No explanation other than its size & just said he wouldn’t.

Rude people at front. Took my son’s dog in and after her surgery were treated rudely and will never go back again. Why be in the dog business if you have no compassion or empathy forOwners and pets. Will go to stockman’s or somewhere else from now on.

We've been going to Heartland for years now. Recently my elderly cat had to be put to sleep and the staff were so sweet and understanding. They sent us a card and made the most amazing Paw print for us! Highly recommend!

If you have any kind of pit or bully breed go somewhere else. I asked Dr. Green for a physical exam to be sure my rescued pit is not experiencing any pain before trying to medicate for anxiety. He was rude to me when I asked him not to write off what he called “normal pitbull behavior” before looking for underlying issues. Only giving two stars because his staff was absolutely friendly and delightful.

So thankful for the knowledge that the doctor has! The Dr. helped figure out what happened with my dog and prescribed her medicine. We are moving cross-country, and have quite a bit of driving left but I’m so thankful to have stopped by this vet and get the help my dog needed! The younger receptionist was so sweet and you can tell she has compassion towards animals! You guys did a great job. Thank you so much!

If I had a choice for zero stars I would my first ever dog have had him maybe 2 weeks first time check up of course he’s going to be excited and confused older man examined my dog very quick was rude and didn’t even let me talk I asked for him to look at his eyes hips and his teeth and it just seemed like I wasn’t welcome in the building with my dog I called all over town and was the only one that could see him right away I didn’t have a choice this is just a fyi for any new dog owners who decide to go and try them my experience was rough but my dog got the shot he needed along with a 2 min exam of him and the questions I had I’m usually not one to complain but it bothered me enough to come here and let others know.

Don't bother taking your older dogs here, Dr Green won't help you just tell you that you should kill your dog. Trash. Will never use them again.

I took my dog to so called Dr green. He assured me she was fine to have surgery! He did not take ex rays before surgery and this is comman practice and he just assumed she would be good. A couple weeks later she passed away from fluid in her chest cavity. When I called for help when she couldn't breathe he couldn't take a few hours out of his precious weekend to help her. He is a heart less POS!!! Pet parents be aware! Go somewhere else!!

End of life decisions are never easy for a pet parent. Especially, when that particular pet has been a constant companion, as well as, a beloved member of the family.I have been taking my Border Collie mix, Katie, to see Dr. Green for a number of years. Up until today, these visits have been routine (check-ups, vaccinations, boarding) and overall, my experience has been favorable. Unfortunately, for the most important visit of Katie's life, a wellness check for an aging dog, it didn't go very smoothly. In fact, it was quite upsetting. . .No, Dr. Green, I am not going to euthanize my dog, because she is incontinent, and "move-on." Perhaps, it is time that you think about hanging up your coat and moving on.

I was a little bit hesitant to come given some of the reviews but I don’t understand what people are complaining about. I had an EXCELLENT experience from beginning to end of our first visit and 5/5 stars would would recommend this vet to anyone.

Take back what I said they are amazing personnel and very kind addressed carl like a real ppl patient and I will remain a loyal customer. One thing when I asked his age they said 2 yrs. When I found Carl he fit in my palm and had to Be bottle fed 9 months ago and I dont think his weight was accurate. I am not allowed to go in the back when my furbabies get shots bcuz I tend to cry. I suppose that's for the best tho!

I don’t understand all the negative comments. We have had only positive experiences so far. Dr. Harvey is great with our canine. He may lack a little charisma but he is good with animals. I think that matters most. The vet techs seem friendly, and went out of their way to show me the boarding facilities when I very first stopped by. Prices also seemed reasonable compared to our past veterinary clinic.

Ok, I'm not prepared to give a fair review as I am very upset, I went today to pick up my grand pup. Hustle is an older kid, but generally pretty active. When he came out of the back area, he didn't respond to me, i thought "hmmm, that's odd". As we were getting into the truck, he 'lagged' and needed help in, THATS a first, I thought ."hmm, maybe he needs to stretch some".... Going out of parking lot in the backseat, he tips over, literally fell like a ball to the floorboard!! ..." WTH?"... I call my daughter, "do they medicate during boarding?" No, just flea meds........ At that second, I felt Something isn't right ..!!My daughter called and spoke with the vet. He said he could not "answer" her questions as he only "knew the dog was a basket case, so meds were ordered, sorry you're upset"...?? First of all, no, he's not a 'basket case" he is a very insecure loved deeply puppers who came from a not great place when he was rescued. (Known to Heartland) My daughter nor I were called about ANY issues, nor was I told upon picking him up that he was under "tranquilizing" meds.Long story short, we looked at the fine print, he's been tranquilized daily... Without request, consent or permission... Kinda odd...Odder still, his file says "done" when he was tranquilized... though no one is really sure when or by whom. (Not charted😡) The CHART doesn't show ANY type of medication that was given... though he was medicated 2-3 times per day the bill says ???"Heartland Animal" As I watch Hustlepup stumble around, aimless and lost chewing on grass. I'm Wondering, will a rescue dogs demeanor change now that he's been tranquilized... ??UPDATE..still under affects of tranquilizer. Very grateful I picked him up a day early or this would have been totally unknown to my daughter.. be attentive folks !!

Heartland lost my dog when I boarded him there. They were unapologetic after friends found him and took him back. When I retrieved him Dr. Green was so defensive and blamed the whole incident on the dog. Supposedly, my dog has escaped from the kennel during previous stays and they did not care to disclose that to me until this incident. I've also had poor service with Dr. Green on other occasions. This clinic is not to be trusted with your loved pets because of their lack of care and safety. There are plenty more options in the North Platte Area that would love to take care of your precious animals. Below is a picture of my pet when he was found. He was cold, wet and frightened. I wish you well.
