Very cute place; charming and welcoming decor. I had a salad that came within minutes of ordering. Very crispy and fresh with apples, nuts, and chicken. Excellent homemade vinaigrette.The only thing that needs work is the sign stating to wait until seated. You will wait a long time, even if nearly empty. Easiest to seat yourself as others have said.

Quickly becoming one of my wife and i’s favorite lunch stops in the area. Great, low key, laid back atmosphere with extremely attentive service. Specials are always on the mark. Fried chicken sandwiches were delicious and their soup is always on point. Smaller than average serving size but always leave satisfied. Bread pudding is to die for.

We had our choice of dining inside or dining bistro style and we chose the bistro style was a wonderful 77° clear and not cloudy.Family run restaurant beautiful boutique added to it downstairs and upstairs.Excellent service friendly made you feel right at home.So the next time you're going through Nebraska City you need to stop here.For unique cuisine, wine, desserts and excellent coffee.So until next time this is Joe Nader signing off and wishing you a blessed day.

The Keeping Room had wonderful food. I ordered the French dip and my husband had a turkey panini. Both were tasty. The apple pie was one of the best I’ve had! The boutique side was fun to walk through and had a great mix of decor. Would definitely come back next time we visit Nebraska City.

I stopped there when visited Nebraska City for annual Applejack festival in September. Food, coffee, carrot cake, everything was great.They also have a store adjacent to the restaurant and sell there amazing Polish ceramic.

Pretty and quaint restaurant attached to a store, it's a pretty large size which can accommodate a good amount of customers. We were attended to immediately and the waitress was very friendly. I ordered the chicken salad croissant with a hot tea. For a side they served fruit and chips, I loved the sandwich, especially the croissant, it was huge. The prices are pretty reasonable too! We will definitely come back when we are in town again.

Cute cafe and a unique atmosphere. Set next to a boutique, the space feels more like a home one was invited to for lunch. Was made to feel welcome; staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good, fresh. Wanted a light lunch without the grease found at every other dinner and it was exactly what we were looking for.

Definitely worth getting off the beaten path! Lovely shop but the food? Oh my! Homemade. Flavorful. Sweet presentation. And Rhonda? One of the best servers ever. My Diet Coke never ran dry and I’m a fast drinker. Best meal I’ve had on the road. Had the special-ham and beans with cornbread. Threw in coconut cream pie that was still warm.No regrets by eating here!

This place is absolutely amazing!! On a road trip from Washington to Miami. The ceiling is one of my favorites and the food is amazing as well. Had the soup of the day which was chicken noodle soup and omg the best lol I will always recommend this place!

This is one of my favorite stores around. I LOVE the decorations, all the trees, the Uniqueness of the items. It's a very relaxing atmosphere. It's always a great to take a rest and just look how beautiful this store is.It a really nice building. Lots of room to get around in. And just a classy place. With great customer care.

The food was good, not great.Server was so slow getting to our table that my very patient husband held up his menu and waved it until a staffer noticed and nodded. It was a couple more minutes before the server came by.Maybe when this business started it was more of an excellent restaurantNow it seems the restaurant exists to get traffic in the gift shops.Dietary restrictions: Server quickly offered to substitute chicken for the crab cake that contained bell peppers.

Great place for a nice sandwich or salad or both. Not your ordinary salad, but an exceptional delicious array of great tasting items and very reasonably priced. Wait staff is terrific and extremely friendly and helpful. If I lived in Nebraska City, I'd go there three or four times a week.

Not worth my time or $$. I waited 20 minutes for a cold salad with an overcooked mushy crab cake. I had to ask twice for iced water and wave a waitress down for the side of honey i requested for my hot tea. The service was awful and the food wasn't that much better. When someone finally asked me how everything was.. I expressed concern that they may be understaffed and was a bit frustrated with my service. The owner/ manager seemed offended, gave me a look and said they were fully staffed and had no issues. She did not even attempt to address my concerns. This is the 1st time that I've been there and will also be my last time. So disappointed I really wanted to like this place.
