I love all that CHS has to offer; adoptions, education, vet services and volunteer opportunities! I have adopted three pets from here and all have been fantastic additions to my home! My sister and BIL have also adopted four pets from here and my parents adopted a cat nine years ago!I appreciate that the staff doesn’t just send pets home with people without making sure it’s a good match, other pets get along or apartment policies aren’t being broken.Lastly, as a volunteer, I love being with the dogs each week; they receive great care and are loved very much!

Everyone there is so nice, they helped me find the perfect cat in Usher (who now goes by Dolph). He was a little scared at first, but hes really coming out of his shell. Thank you guys, keep up the awesome work!!

i have adopted 2 animals from them now, both times have been absolutely perfect. theyre kind, professional and really explain everything in detail, especially with my dog whom they knew would be a bit of a handful at first, they told me the absolute truth so i knew what to expect when we got home. beyond incredible experience both times, a year apart

Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. Me and my daughter had a lot of questions. They were more than happy to help out and explain everything. They even set you up with some food and toys to get you started.

Wonderful staff. Answered every question and detailed knowledge about each pet's history, mannerisms, and traits (assuming the pet had been there longer than a few days). I felt very confident adopting our new cat from there and they offer services and advice if needed post adoption.Update:It's been a year and we love our kitten so much. She's a big two year old and gets along so well with her big sister.

had a great experience adopting a cat from here! she did have a slight medical issue but nothing that couldn’t be taken care of quickly. always bring your new pet into the vet asap! <3

We found just the kitten we were looking for by a stroke of luck. She was at Pet Smart in Lincoln. Within an hour or so we were picking her up to take home. She was spayed, had a microchip, vaccinated, and well fed. The $100 fee was reasonable. They did follow ups with us after days 1 and 3. Lot's of good advice and Pet Smart gave us coupons for things she needed which saved us almost $30.

My husband and I adopted our cat there as an older kitten, and we're so grateful to them for bringing her into our lives! My experience with the shelter was very positive, and the people I interacted with were kind, compassionate, and helpful in the process of meeting cats as we looked for the right one to bring into our family. They really wanted to make sure we found a new friend that would be a perfect fit for us, and be able to share our lives for a long time. I really appreciate all that they do and their help!The online waiting app worked great, and I was able to coordinate an appointment right after I got out of work.

I'm very grateful I was able to file a lost pet report I live in Sioux City But was able to file for our German shepherd that we gave away and the people have a suspicious story as to what happened with him thankfully capital humane society has been wonderful working with us and hopes to find what happened to him whether he lost his life in the Creek at Wilderness park or was just neglectfully lost Because he got away on his leash. Thank you again

We adopted Rudy on March 3 at the Capital Humane Society Adoption Center. They were fast and efficient and gave us loads of good information. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect dog. Rudy is mild mannered and has the perfect disposition. He adjusted to his new forever home almost instantly. He is the perfect dog!

I spent 2 months watching the website and I found the perfect dog for me and my fiance. They had a wonderful profile made for him, he received quality care, and came with all of his vaccines, and a collar and leash. 10/10 would adopt another animal here!

Very bad customer service and on top of that anyone can call them and sabotage you getting a pet without any proof what so ever. And they will not investigate false claims

Great facility!! My cat passed and was looking for a new friend, they let us look around with a very good selection of different animals. Found an amazing cat named phoebe and she sleeps with us just like i was hoping for. Thank you!!!

I love the humane society. More people need to adopt over anything. I have had adopted two pets there, and they are healthy and so sweet. The staff are great and very patient with you. Also, they do understand that a lot of people want to come in to just play and meet the animals (they need to be socialize somehow) and you never know, you might just fall in love with that animal and decide that you’re meant to be and adopt.

We have adopted 2 wonderful dogs from here, the staff is always super friendly and helpful when answering questions. We didn't feel pressured to adopt a dog that might not get along with our first dog, so it was a great experience everytime we went in! Here is our first dog we adopted, Bobby the pitbull/boxer, and his new friend, Whisper the bulldog.

We got two of our kitty's from here. From what we see the set up fot the animals, & human interaction is done fairly well. Cat's in their place, dogs in their's. They have a big waiting room as you enter the building, & little interaction rooms so you can see how well the animal likes, & interacts with you. Happy critter equals happy human. The facility does well in keeping them well fed, watered, & healthy during their stay, & informs you well of any issues to be aware of. Lots of furry creatures need their forever homes. If your looking to add to your family here's place to check out. But don't come down looking, & buying purely on emotion. They need good homes, from people that care. Having a little furry creature around is more then just feed, water, & changing or cleaning their doo doo spots. It's about their happiness, & well being too. It's not always your schedule it's their's. They may not be smart like us humans are, but they need to know your interested in them. So before you buy, get educated as best as you can with the breed you are seeking to get. Have a general idea of your own future, & plan ahead, as so many of these animals are often inadequately housed, & often returned, because people to often cast aside any level of forethought before aquiring.

Went to adopt a beautiful 2yr old male German shep. Ended up bringing him home and couldnt feel better about giving him his foreever home. He has some issues but nothing that bad that cant be fixed with some love and patience. Im so thankful I could make him my own.

We love our cat that we adopted from there. Our cat was sick when we got him and sneezing a lot. They gave us antibiotics for free and our cat is doing well now.

My first time at the new facility. The viewin areas for the cats and dogs are nice. Everything is kept clean and the dogs have a nice area to run and play. I thought the place would be somewhat larger w more dogs to look at considering the size of the original facility which still houses animals too.

Since we have received our kitten from this center in April, my boyfriend and I have been dealing with his worms for the last two months. The fact that they put an unwell kitten on display and claiming it has good health is asinine! The amount of money we have put into vet visits, antibiotics, dewormers is ridiculous!! This center has lost our business and we will be adopting animals(if we ever do again after this experience) elsewhere. If I could give zero stars I absolutely would!!
