I just discovered this wonderful used bookstore while visiting my son. They have a great selection of books and book merchandise. The service and friendliness is top notch. I also met the two beautiful resident cats.

I won't lie, I came for the cats. It was a fun bookstore to stop into, it is small and cozy and lots of labeled sections throughout the store. The cats names are Charlie and Cricket. It was very busy when I went in, so I was not greeted by staff. Very cute bookstore name.

The cutest bookstore! Every corner you turn has a surprise! There are so many categories! My favorite was a category of old books. Each one was beautiful, and colorful! If you want a book with heartfelt notes from previous owners, highlights, and doodles, the old books section is for you! This place is a book lover's dream! And everything is very reasonably priced. They also have gift shop type items like postcards, erasers, sketchbooks ect. I was able to find a birthday gift for my sister here while shopping for books! One stop shop for gifts!Also worth mentioning, if you are allergic to cats, be aware that there are two in the shop. When we were visiting, they were friendly but mostly kept to themselves or napped. If you wanted to shop but avoid the cats, I think you'd be able to do so just fine. If you're a cat lover like me, they are the sweetest kitties and a delight to visit!

They have two monster cats and they are so cute!!! I love the set up of the store and that it feels welcoming! Plenty of books upstairs and downstairs too!!

My husband LOVES book stores and this delivered exactly what he was looking for. Great prices & fantastic selection no matter what genre you're looking for. Parking may be a bit tricky for the time you go there, but well worth the trip!

I love this bookstore so much! I’ve been going there since I was a teenager in the late ‘90s and the staff and atmosphere could not be more friendly and helpful. We recently went there to browse for books for my 15 year old daughter’s birthday and got tons of helpful recommendations. If you want amazing customer service and a caring and considerate atmosphere, look no further than “A Novel Idea” bookstore. Books, cats, life is good!

The BEST bookstore and BEST staff ever!! I am a bookworm and went into the shop with my list of several hundred books I'd like to read. I gave that list to Cinnamon and she gave me around 20 or more books that I might like and I left with 6-8 books. She figured me out and what I liked so effortlessly and it was the best afternoon ever! I was hoping to meet with someone and have them give me suggestions and that's exactly what happened and it was just delightful!!! I will be a regular customer from now on! (Oh, and the cats are adorable and the perfect frosting on the cake of this bookstore!)

Honestly an amazing place with shelves packed full of books! The staff are always willing to help with book recommendations, finding cats, helping reach books, and just offering a friendly face. If it weren't for the fact that I always get more books than I need, I would go here every day!

The best used bookstore in Lincoln! The owner and staff are fantastic! They are helpful and knowledgeable, and my visits are always a delightful experience. The atmosphere is unique and fun, and I love seeing the cats while I browse. Great little bookstore - if you need a book you can't find, check here! Lots of Mystery and SciFi/Fantasy, Children's books and Poetry upstairs and lots if Nonfiction and Cookbooks downstairs with Westerns down the stairwell. Plus great customer service and 2 handsome purrific cats to keep the atmosphere cozy. They have great prices too😊 I now have to make a list🤔. Only wish they had more romance🤨

If you are going to check out any book stores in Lincoln, PLEASE STOP HERE! The owners and staff are super knowledgeable about literature and what they have on hand. They can also suggest fantastic, literary-themed gifts and goodies. The fantastic guy working here the day we went in (I wish we had gotten his name) picked upon my interest in Jane Austen right away and was able to show me all that the store had to offer for anything relevant to her works. Their love for books really shows here!

I have been shopping at this bookstore for 30 years. They have a wonderful, caring staff that is very knowledgeable about all genres of literature. The cats are a delight. You can easily lose an afternoon and fill a bag perusing their shelves. One of Lincoln’s highlights I visit whenever I’m in town.
