We came up from Omaha for an end-of-season round of golf at the nearby Elkhorn Valley Golf Course and we stopped here for burgers on our way out of town. We appreciate the historic building and classic, almost saloon like vibe of the place and we really enjoyed our first visit. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching and listening to long time owner Dale engage with all the locals who came in while we were there. Dale was hilarious with his jokes and overall demeanor. I could tell by all the to-go orders that we made a good choice by stopping in. When our food finally came our burgers were simple and tasty with fresh, handmade patties perfectly cooked with cheese, bacon and lots of pickles and a crazy large amount of crinkle cut fries also perfectly cooked. My Corona beers were cold and the cut limes were fresh. Aside from a slightly long wait due to the amount of orders they were dealing with, I really loved our first experience. We'll definitely make this this a regular stop whenever we're up in the area. Highly recommend!

LOVED our experience here! We are from Texas (kinda close to Houston) and made the drive from Omaha to Norfolk. Since we had never been to Nebraska before we didn't even think there wouldn't be shops/restaurants often! Fields and Fields. We put in Google maps "food near me" and boy we were in for a treat!The ladies were fantastic. The food was obvious and wonderfully homemade! We had fried Pickles (they are hot for awhile so order them first) and both my son and I had burgers! Just wonderful!Kid-friendliness: My 8 year old was with me and he had a fantastic time! He is also quite the social butterfly and the ladies kept him occupied so I could eat!

We needed food while driving through Nebraska and stumbled acrossed this great spot in Hooper (pronounced Hupper). Staff was incredibly friendly but the food was amazing. I might make the trek back just to get their Ruben again 🤤

Decent little place. Salad didn't come out as advertised on the menu. Only one person was running the place but she was friendly and trying. Fish sandwich and taco bowl were good.

What a great place! Dale, the owner is super friendly and makes you feel like family. He can tell you a ton of cool stories about the place. The decor and atmosphere are comfortable. The food was incredible, especially the hand breaded gizzards. Will definitely make a trip back!

Down to earth, very friendly, they help run the 4th of July festivities each year in Hooper. A good variety of beers and liquor with a helpful staff. The establishment has an old school decor that may not appeal to some, but it is really quaint. They do serve food, the only reason I go 4 stars instead of 5 is because the menu is somewhat limited, but I'd give them a 4.5 stars if I could. We had the chicken strips and fries, and they were delicious. Not gourmet but better than the usual hole in the wall bar. Well worth the detour off 275 to visit. Old 275 used to travel right by the town and we'd stop in from time to time while in college back in the 1990's, still a very friendly beautiful small town presently.

Good atmosphere. The onion rings were the best onion rings we’ve had so far in Nebraska! We didn’t wait too awfully long for our food, and it was overall a good experience.

I cant say enough good about this little gem! The service was top notch and really friendly, made you feel right home. Super clean and cozy atmosphere! The taco pizza was fabulous! This is our new go to spot! We will be return customers! Great lil place! If you are in the Hooper area stop in and see for yourself how good this place is!!

Food is amazing. I highly recommend their hot roast beef sandwich. All homemade from a slow cooked roast. Atmosphere is like a walk back in time. Very comfortable and family friendly. Quite the treat and well worth the drive. We'll be back.

Come here at least twice a month. Have always been very well taken car off. My food has always been hot, correct and served timely. And I always appreciate when an owner stops and asks how everything is, then corrects any mistakes. Go Tuesdays and ask for "walking tacos", worth it

Got the prime rib. It had great flavor but came out kinda cold. Potatoes were good. Would've given 5 stars but like I said prime rib was cold
