Gone down hill a bit over the years. The original owner passed away a few years ago and his children aren't involved anymore. This has caused the passion to die but they still have a wide variety of products and they still have higher standards for customer service than you are likely to find anywhere else these days.

I hadn’t been to Allen’s in years until last week and a day before thanksgiving. So you can only imagine exactly how many people either had last minute items to pick up or had simply hadn’t went shopping yet! There were people all over however the employees were on top of it and we got everything we needed, seen a couple old friends and shopping was made easy!

Owned by the same company that owns Russ's Market. Nice store, but could use an update and refresh. Can certainly find all your grocery needs here. You do bag your own groceries.

B&R has completely ruined Allen’s. I just bought a ton of groceries yesterday. All below issues happed in the same purchase. Milk jug had a leak in it (far from first time this happened) Box of rice had a razor slash through it, spilled all over my floor. Brand new package of Munster cheese was covered in mold, (opened within 1hr of purchase) I just had to throw away $15 in food right after purchasing, due to your poor rotation and quality control. This is becoming far to common at your store! With your extremely high prices, this is absolutely unacceptable!!

I originally gave this store five stars when the original owners owned it. Since I first reviewed it it has changed owners and it's a very big disappointment to me. Prices have increased, the store has gotten a lot smaller, there's not much to buy, and what's there seems old. Allen's used to have a beautiful store. I believe this store is on its way out of business at this point. A lot of people used to go to their deli and enjoy eating their daily and it's a big disappointment since the original owners don't have the store anymore. In fact I'm not impressed with any part of the store anymore. I don't even shop there.

I love to shop atAllen's of Hastingsgrocery store 🛒🛍️...They have everything I need to get through the month & the staff is so professional & friendly...very helpful tooIf you want great deli food ... they've got it too.So the next time you shop...shop at Allen's..you won't be disappointed...by the way...it's also very clean there too

I have always loved to shop at Allen’s and have always tried to promote them. I always appreciated the price match which I used almost every visit!! Yesterday I unloaded my groceries and was told no more price matching and checker was rude!! No where in the store or on the website is this new policy published that I have seen. I left without the groceries when I can go several blocks and save several dollars!! Sorry but with out price matching Allen’s will probably lose a lot of my business and especially with the way my checker handled the transaction!!

Unique grocery store with pharmacy and separate gift and liquor sections. Huge selection with some unique selections you'll only find at Allen's. Awesome staff and great prices! You need to check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Love prices and variety and awesome BASS PRO SHOP, tackle a bit pricey, but top of the line live bait for sale! The blue gills more lively than I've seen purchased anywhere!! Dan does a great job down there!!

The grocery side looked fine, although they didn't have what I was looking for! Hadn't been to Allen's in a while as I don't live around Hastings anymore, was very disappointed to see that Bass Pro and hardware, plus the department store are all gone!

They did not have the item I was looking for, which was a bulk purchase, out for sale. However, after I inquired, they made arrangements to sell me what I was asking for! Very quick, affordable, and friendly process!! Thank you Allen's!!!

I would normally give Allen's 5 stars, but their deli department has turned me off completely. Not only did I get salmonella from their chicken, but have recently found out the manager of the deli department has been selling expired meat. So no WONDER!! Beware of the deli, would not reccomend.

Great hometown grocery store... clothes are a bit too expensive for me but others do buy from there. They have a wonderful Hallmark/gift section that is my GO TO when I need a gift. Not Wal-Mart prices but not Wal-Mart quality either... as they say you get what you pay for. Oh... and best of all they will match any competitors sale prices buy 2 cents, Grand Island included.

Excellent meat & produce departments along with many special food items not offered at the other grocery stores. Also, they offer a wide selection of hard to find sugar-free foods.

Prices were a bit high and definitely the friendliness that they claim they take pride in I think only works if management isn't around or unless it is management themselves. Cindy Sue is the worst! She doesnt belong anywhere in customer service. You also need to give your staff including management how to properly count back change without having to rely on a computer to tell you. Won't be going back there. Prices are cheaper at Russ's market or Walmart.

1st visit, found what we needed for lunch for 4 people. Went to prepare food at the deli for fried chicken, 3 salads. Got drinks and one dairy item. The 4 people were fed 1 meal with extra food for another meal. Total was very reasonable.

Get almost all of our groceries here but seems that the sale of items are what is not going to last long, many of the items we buy go bad within a day or two, still keep coming back, don't know really why other than Greg is awesome as the manager there!!!
