Great place to stop for the night while enjoying the scenic beltway. Right outside the Nebraska Forrest. Clean rooms, friendly owner. Would definitely stop again if in town. Yes there are trains there's no getting away from it on the beltway, if your a light sleeper like me invest in a white noise machine. I never leave home without it and slept through the night and woke feeling refreshed.Safety: Felt safe and secure.Noteworthy details: Right near the Nebraska Forrest

When i arrived the owner was literally working on the motel so that is why I left the review at 4 stars.... I am not out to lower anyone's ratings and truly feel my experience was isolated and possibly even a mistake considering the owner checked the room to "make sure she cleaned it" when he unlocked it. Potentially "she" just forgot the bathroom. I loved the location and the room would have been perfect except the cleanliness was SEVERELY lacking in the bathroom especially. The originally white baseboards were covered with hair and dirt (definitely overlooked for at least months). The door had huge brown smudges all over it (dramatically so on the backside). There was still a towel from the previous guest slung over the shower rod. The floor towel was clearly used and just rehung for me (debris and a foot imprint on it). The toilet seat was sticky (gross, gross, gross). The minifridge has mold all over the gasket and the pillowcases looked clean but had about eight different lengths and colors of hair all over them.The sheets were DEFINITELY clean/hair free. The bed was comfortable and the price is very fair. The floor seemed clean. As someone who only stays in independently owned lodging, I never expect amenities or even soap but ALWAYS would like to expect cleanliness and only remember being deprived of it once before in my travels.I am certain going forward this place will be better. The owner seemed very committed and driven to develop his motel business in addition to his other full time job of ranching. I believe it will be easy to get someone to deep clean the bathroom(s). Please don't let this review deter you from staying here as, like I said, I do believe this is just a matter of pointing out an opportunity for improvement.

Troy is an excellent host. Went way beyond what was expected. Rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. Restaurant and bar across street. Dog friendly. Caters to hunters during season. My daughter and i were up to hunt prairie grouse and Troy was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

They are working on upgrading the property, but it was clean and a cute little place to stay. The beds were very comfortable. The owner was friendly, very nice. Nearby is a little grocery store with more friendly staff. The motel is next to the train tracks and we heard trains going by throughout the night.

Rooms were clean and bed was comfy. The train was close but didn't bug me at all when I was asleep. Their sign says "arrive as guests and leave as family" which the owners truly lived up to. We had a wonderful time on our stay. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend to our friends.

Troy is the most gracious host ever! our truck broke down and he not only provided us with a clean room to rest in after a stressful day but also helped us load the truck up the next day. its not every day you meet someone this genuinely kind and helpful. i definitely recommend staying here!!

The owner was super friendly and accommodating! He just bought the place beginning of february and you can tell hes super excited about it! Hes working on upgrading the place and I definitely want to see what he does with the it! Definitely stop through here if you get the chance, theres nothing like being treated like family!

Great Motel, newly refurbished rooms in a small quiet town except for the train. Troy the owner was extremely polite and would do anything for you. I would stay again.

Nice little very unpopulated town. The hotel is old fashion but very clean. Never even got to see the owner... talked to him on the phone he said he would turn on the ac leave the key in the door for me. If I wanted to pay cash leave money I'n the room and leave the key inside.

Great people that are a pleasure to visit with. The rooms are very clean and large for 2 beds. I'd give it 5 stars but the trains are quite frequent. I'd defiantly will stay again.

Great place to stay. Very friendly. We had been riding our motorcycle all day and needed a place close. She was outside looking for us to arrive. Very reasonable price. We would stay again.

It's a tiny little town, the fact that there was a hotel there at all was good enough. Its dated and a bit run down but honestly I didn't hate it. The people were very nice and for it being in such a tiny town in the middle of nowhere it was ok. I would stay there again if I happened to need to be in the area.

Good location right off the highway and minutes from Halsey National Forest. Nice rooms with very reasonable rates and extremely nice and personable owners. If I'm in the area again would definitely stay here.

Had our Terwilliger family reunion there with some camping, some in the bunk house across the street and used the community center next door what a perfect set up. rooms were comfortable and clean and very affordable

Rooms ok and clean. If you are trying to sleep forget it. Trains go by every half hour at the most sounding horn the whole way. It's less than 100 yards from the train tracks. No sleep for me .
