This is a gem. More people of Chadron should be utilizing this great pool but since they aren't you practically get it to yourself. We went on a Saturday in the winter about 1:30 pm. The water is crystal clear. The attendants are nice. There is a great waterside and you just ask the attendant to turn it on and presto! We are a couple and the price was $12. It was a rainy, foggy, yucky day out so we got our exercise swimming instead of walking. I highly recommend this pool. Good changing and shower areas. Good lockers. Bring your own lock if you want it locked. Clean facility. Wonderful.

My family was visiting family in town so we decided to go to the pool. It is a really nice facility! Our daughter met all the requirements to go down the slide but apparently she needed to pass a “swimming test” in order to go down the slide. So she swam from one side of the pool to the other without touching the bottom or the wall. When she did complete that, the lifeguard said in her personal opinion she was not a strong enough swimmer to go down the slide. The slide does go into the deep end which is 12ft but the ladder is three feet from the bottom of the slide. She was allow to jump off the driving board that is located right next to the slide. So, she jumped off the diving board and went deeper under water than she would have if she went down the slide.

Fantastic pool. Good size, including lap lanes, a wading and kids area, and a slide. The locker rooms are clean and large, though they could use a swim suit spinner. This is a high quality pool that rivals many in much larger cities.

Awesome indoor pool with slides and splash pads! Fun for the whole family. They also have a wonderful party area that is great for kid's swimming parties!

We visit relatives yearly in Chadron and always make a point to go to the community pool a few times. We visited 3 days ago and my son with Autism was allowed to go down the slide and off the diving board at least 15 times without issue. Today unfortunately I felt we were singled out and harassed by a lifeguard. We were told that he had to pass a swimming test, which he did and passed according to another gaurd on duty, however once he went down the slide and the diving board we were again singled out and harassed by the other lifeguard. My son is a strong swimmer (we live on a river) it just looks a little different from how other kids swim.I asked for a directors number and was accused of being rude but my voice was never raised and the pool being a service should be open to complaints especially when a staff member is harassing an individual with a disability. stoswimmer,

Apology for less than the 5 star review that many would like to see here for this Aquatic & Wellness Center but hey, let's peek back at the facts a wee bit here now. The pool we had may not have been closed in from the weather but it sufficed seasonally, and at a cost far less than 10% annual upkeep of what is being presently paid to keep the doors open here. The old one could have been cost-efficiently repaired, in my estimation. Truthfully, this pet project has effectively bankrupted the City of Chadron, and all for more of what other people think than what it actually is, in my opinion. You enjoy it? By all means carry on, it's not a bad place... but hardly worth its great cost in many respects.

The pool was great but the lifeguards made me nervous.The 2 stars is because I felt I had to keep a careful eye on my kids because the lifeguards weren't. I am a certified lifeguard and saw many errors that would prevent them from seeing an injury happen.

The pool itself is a let down because it costs $7 to stand in a pool the size of a living room. However the biggest frustration is the management and employees. The hours are never correct, when the pool says it's "open" it may not be open for kids but instead "lap swim". Or the "lap swim" was closed early because some other event is taking place. Minor issues are to be expected with operating a business but good grief, study some business/marketing techniques and stop getting in your own way. The service that is provided here, for $7, is better spent literally at any other swimming establishment.The worst part of the pool is the lifeguards, they do not care at all about their jobs and they spend 90% of their time on their phones. It's like watching a movie that you have seen 50 times, the predictability is incredible. Lifeguard comes over, sits down, begins texting on smart watch, looks up for a second, resumes texting. It is like clockwork watching them message back and forth from across the pool while blatantly ignoring their job.Take my advice, save your money and seriously go to any other pool, anywhere.

Kids enjoy the kiddie slide, there is a splash pad as well. Love the zero entry area for younger toddlers. Bigger kids can also enjoy the diving board and a twisty enclosed slide.

We really enjoy the staff and how polite and courteous they are while we are using the facility of the pool while practicing scuba diving.
