Great stop on our journey. We were coming in a little late and the owner Joe was kind enough to drive over to check on us to see if we needed anything and offer a drink. Wish we had more time to check out the area but enjoyed the amazing sunset and sunrise views.

Great view of Chimney Rock. It was cool that it was lit up at night. There were no trees at the campground but it was not a problem as it was cool out.

We were traveling from western NY to Utah on a family RV trip, and decided to follow some historical sites associated with the Oregon Trail. This no frills campground is located adjacent to Chimney Rock and is therefore in a fantastic location. We had full hookups, and our site accommodated our 45 foot motor home with no problem. We were able to ride our bikes to the Chimney Rock welcome center and trail head. We were amazed when darkness settled in on the campground and Chimney Rock was lit up with spotlights. We had no idea that would happen. It felt as though it was a show just for the small Pioneer Campground! There is no staff on site after 5 or 6 pm until about 8 am but during daytime hours there is a small gift shop and snack bar / restaurant that serves food.

A great little campground with large, level, gravel sites. Good water, 30A & 50A power, and sewer. Very easy to pull in and hook up even for large rigs. Adjacent to Chimney Rock and close to Scottsbluff. Owner/operators know the area well and enjoy sharing their knowledge. The camp store has a little ice cream shop with the best ever homemade waffle cones!

Very small campground that offers pull through, level, and full hook up sites for only $38 per night. The reason to come to this campground, though, is the amazing view of Chimney Rock just one mile away. No matter which site you get, you will be facing Chimney Rock. At night, Chimney Rock is illuminated, so don't shut your curtains too soon.

For RVs of all sizes, this is an awesome little quaint place to stay! Right at the base of Chimney Rock! The view is marvelous. Owners are very friendly and offer suggestions where to go or what to see. RV sites are clean (and full hookups). Gift Shop and souvineers are unique too! Will definately return!Food & drinks: Home cooking for lunches, ice cream and some beverages.

24 hour notice on reservations is required. Owners do not respond any earlier and have no other options like a pay box or door slot. No one at campground had any contact with owners. We found another option just up the road that had onsite management.

Very nice quiet park. Not very big so make sure you reserve a spot. Plenty of historic things to see close by. The hamburgers were great at the trading Post store and the people here are very friendly.Nearby activities: Plenty of historic markers and sites in the area.

The campground has a great location with a view of Chimney Rock. At night, Chimney Rock was lit, which was a pleasant view during dinner. The shower was hot and clean. Joe was friendly. I enjoyed a hike around Chimney Rock, which can be challenging due to the ravines you must cross; begin your hike from the Chimney Rock Cemetery. The only reason that I took away a star was the cost - $32.55 - for a tent site.

We stayed at Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing for a month. It's a small and quiet park. Friendly folks running it and much to see all around. The view of Chimney Rock and the surroundings are excellent. They also have wonderful ice cream!

This is a lovely, small and very clean RV park with spacious sites. Chimney Rock is about a mile away and the RV park has the best views of this landmark - especially sunrise is gorgeous and also when the moon sets next to illuminated Chimney Rock at night. The owner lives nearby, takes care of anything and is very helpful. We stayed two weeks and absolutely enjoyed our time there. Can highly recommend this place and will definitely come back if we are in the area again.

We only were staying one night as we were just passing through but feel in love with our surroundings and stayed another night, you have great views of Chimney Rock and love how it is illuminated at night, a very peaceful( other than an occasional distant train passing by which I enjoy ) is nicely located to other attractions like Scotts Bluff Nat. Mon., the Jail and Court House rocks. Met some great fellow RVers. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and stay. Thank you.

What a hidden gem! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The entire park has been updated and provides large easy to navigate sites. The store has a fantastic gift selection along with great food options and hand dipped ice-cream. Joe, the owner, is very personable and provided a warm welcome and local insights. The monument is lit up each night for several hours. The color is changed at times for holidays or observances. This week it is green for our Memorial Day in memory of our fallen soldiers, close to the 4th of July it will be red/white/blue. We look forward to staying here our next time in the area. so much to see and do.

It was a great place, perfect view of Chimney Rock, was pleased when night came to see it all lite up. The couple who owns the place are very nice and accommodating, we were with another couple and they made sure that we had buddy spots. Gave us information on the area and what to see. They had souvenirs in their little shop, ice cream, food and drinks. I would highly recommend this place!

Stop by the shop here if you’re visiting Chimney Rock!I was on my way to the museum down the road when I decided to stop here and take a quick look around the shop to see what they had for sale. They had ice cream and drinks as well as a few souvenirs and such. The gentleman who worked here was very kind and gave me suggestions, directions, and warnings as what to do and not to do when visiting Chimney Rock and down the road to Courthouse and Castle Rock. He also gave my dog a free deluxe dog treat on the way out!

This was such a great place to stay. We stayed mid to late March and there was a lot of snow around but not at the park. Joe was very accommodating. The view of Chimney Rock is terrific - and who knew it was lit up at night - an added bonus?!?! The park was very central to what we wanted to do in the panhandle of Nebraska and there was a lot to do. If you are visiting Western Nebraska, you should stay at Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing. Thanks again Joe!

We had been driving all day and had stopped for fuel in Alliance around 4:30 pm, looked around and couldn't find anywhere we wanted to stay. Googled near by RV Camping and came across Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing. Called and spoke with Joe just before he was closing for the day. Got assigned a spot, made it there about 5:47 pm and Joe was there to meet us, how nice. He offered us some cucumbers from his garden WOW! Chimney Rock was an awesome sight to see and they light it up at night, also wow. Kind owners and enjoyed sunset and the sunrise too. Thumbs up!

Beautiful view and full hookups were convenient and worth the price. On-site bathroom/shower did not have a way to lock from the inside which made using them a bit precarious.Overall a good experience and we would stay here again.

The Chimney Rock Pioneer Crossing campground was my last stop prior to arriving at America's Mailbox in Box Elder, S.D., for residency purposes. I had reserved and paid for a full weeks' stay, but somehow (my bad) scheduled my stop for eight nights. Needless to say, I was chomping at the bit to get on the road by the end of the stay.First, let me say that the Owners are extremely nice people and work hard at keeping the area nice. But i'm reviewing the overall experience, which was dismal and disruptive. I had been assigned to space #11 per my reservation. It was only hours after getting setup in the space that I had to request being moved! There are now a number of long-term campers at the location. Good for revenue stream, but maybe not for normal campers. The family in the space next to me had twin children who chaos on steroids... non-stop fighting and screaming, with non-parenting, parents! They also had two ankle-biters which they kept outside, that barked at anything and everything. Then add the fact that the husband was remodeling the back-half of his camper. The noise of power tools, hammers, nail-guns.. you get the idea by now. I was on the phone with my VA medical providers, attempting to schedule appointments, and had to tell them that I would call back due to the noise level. So, I had to move to another space, which helped somewhat with the noise, but did not eliminate it. No on to the subject of the Technology Desert.. I could get one network TV channel, along with the PBS channels. There is NO Wi-Fi in the park, my T-mobile cell signal was non-existent, but was able to roam with their partner provider, Viaero Wireless which was all but worthless, 2g signal; too slow to even access email.Back to the Noise.. there are train tracks just a few hundred yards from the park, and there are about a dozen, very long, and load (air horns) coal trains that go up and down the tracks, every day, and night. Most people don't sleep through air-horns in the middle of the night. The camper sites were not terrible, but one reviewer mentioned how "roomy" the sites were? Not sure what she was accustomed to, but I measured 12' between my neighbor's hookups, and the side of my camper. And the hookups are in the middle of the site, rather than the rear, which places the sewer drain at your picnic table. (see photos)I did go to the Scott's Bluff National Monument Park on one day which was very nice, and the camper's have a great view of the Chimney Rock monument. So, this park would be OK for a quick night or two, but not longer. For me personally, I just did not find it comfortable at all. I'm still learning what aspects to consider when scheduling my stops.

Very well maintained campground, perfect base of operations for exploring the area. Spectacular view of Chimney Rock, unobstructed. Owners are very nice and responsive. Not much wind-break so cold weather camping can be chilly, but electricity is rock solid! Will definitely be back in warmer times!

The cabin was great. The gentleman was nice and worked well with us knowing we would not be there till 11 PM. The shop was very reasonable, the shower was clean, the bathroom was clean. Had we not just been passing through we would’ve stayed there several other nights. Probably will stay there again the next time we come to Nebraska. The owners were very nice.

We payed $40 for a campsite that ended up being a mowed 6ft wide swath off the side of the driveway with no campfire ring or shelter or anything. I am used to roughing it, but this was rediculius. We arrived at 5pm, no one was there, just a sign on the door telling us where our "camp spot" was. Called the owner, who was quite rude, and told him that this wasn't what we were expecting and were thinking about moving on, and he proceeded to try and tell us that that's how people camp in Nebraska. Well, I am from Nebraska, so I can say that this isn't true. He refused to refund us, even though he wouldn't be out anything. There was plenty of other places along the side of the driveway that others could have camped, so I guess $40 and a bad review are more important to him.

An impromptu booking that I am very happy to have made! I am not one who needs much in a place to stay aside from being in a clean or at least kept area. This is your very basic RV/campground so if you’re looking for all the frivolity of modern accommodations this spot may not be for you.I booked the cabin for a night and was met by the most generous host I have experienced in Nebraska yet. Joe was sure to let me know the best way to experience Chimney Rock with the visitor’s center being closed. The little extra story in what to watch out for was right up my alley and though I didn’t see Mr. Mixberry(?) directly, I'm pretty certain I saw him in the mirror as I pulled away from the Pioneer Cemetery!Joe, I cant thank you enough for your hospitality. Considering the terms of my trip, this was a much needed reprieve.

It's one the cleanest campsites I've ever been to. The bathrooms were amazingly clean and the shower felt great at the end of each day. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The shop is nice too. The campsite is so close to chimney rock, you can see it clearly. I highly recommend this campsite to anyone who likes camping and relaxing.

This was a nice campground, very clean excellent location to Chimney Rock (outstanding view) / Scott’s bluff. Only drawback is that it is located next to a train crossing - several trains. This did not phase us!

Nice guy running the place. Ice cream was a little pricey but sooo worth it in a waffle cone in the summer heat. Got some souvenirs here too. Also good bathroom stop, especially with the Chimney Rock visitors center closed.
