EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! We should have known there was something off when we walked in on a Saturday afternoon (2:35) and the place was deserted. Even though there were two patrons in the bar and the only other table in the restaurant was just leaving, It still took more than 5 minutes to be greeted and get menus. We ordered a side of Onion Rings to share (good - but commercial ones from Sysco). I ordered a patty melt (medium rare and it was served very rare). This is my go to by which I judge all burger restaurants against and this was okay -- not juicy or tasty; simply okay The fries were hand cut and only warm - not hot. My husband ordered the Crazy MTN Dip sandwich - it was written up as their version of a French Dip with onions and cheese and it was OFF. The meat was a gray color and had no beefy flavor or taste; but the aftertaste was like meat that has sat a couple days too long in the fridge.and had started to turn bad but not quite moldy. He took a couple bites and we waited for the server to reappear but when he wasn't to be seen, he asked me to taste it. There was a NASTY smell to the sandwich and while I tried a small bite out of the uneaten half, it ended up spit out in my napkin; it almost tasted moldy.I need to point out that the server checked with us about 2 minutes after setting down the food and at that time we had only tried the onion rings. He didn't come back until 20 minutes later when I FLAGGED him down. Again - NO OTHER PATRONS IN THE RESTAURANT. My husband had eaten about half of his sandwich by then because we were hungry and a part had been spit out into his napkin. When we finally got the servers attention, he took the plate away, came back and said he would write off one of the beers and when we further questioned the food, he said he would send out the manager.15 minutes later, we had to find the waiter again and ask why the manager hadn't bothered to come chat with us. "Oh... I'll get her." was the reply. Which meant he hadn't asked her to talk to us prior to that.ALL of this really reflected poorly on the restaurant, the staff, and on Muddy Creek Ranch Beef. Beef that cooks up gray on the outside is not PRIME beef - no matter what anyone says.This was a food safety concern that was brushed aside. The manager was coldly polite but she accused us of having been in and complained before. (We had NEVER been there before and will NEVER go back). Even with mediocre food we never complain (or even ever write a bad review as I was raised with the motto of if you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all). However, this was POOR customer service and poor food quality at its peak. $40 for food that is OLD and NASTY is not a good value by anyone's standard.Yes the restaurant, bar and restrooms were clean, but that is where the positives end (and it should be when there are no patrons). The cooks were too busy gossiping and flirting to worry about how to cook the food to meet the customer's request or even to curb the language used since the grill is right out in the restaurant for all to hear. Honestly, you can get a better burger at Wendy's than you can here. Save your money...

Great place for local beef! Had the classic burger and pastrami Reuben. Both sandwiches and fries were excellent. Burger was a perfect medium, very tender and juicy. Fries were fresh cut, crispy, and not a bit greasy. Also very nice atmosphere, decor, and service. Oh, and they had a gluten free bun!

All I can say is, from the moment we walked in the door we knew the drive from Bozeman was worth it! Great service, best chicken fried steak this side of Oklahoma, and a down home friendly small town atmosphere! Do yourself a favor and give it a try! We’ll be back. A lot.

Everything is delicious, the people rock and the place is beautiful! The beef comes from a ranch right down the road, and you can buy meats right there from the same ranch to take home and cook!

Came here from cardwell with my dad- The two hour drive was well worth it!! The food was amazing and the bartender was so sweet and attentive. I tried her orange muel- so good! We got the beef sandwich, a cheese pizza, and the vault burger. All were perfect. The onion rings were also incredible. And for being in the mountains, the queso was really good! And one of us was from Houston! Highly recommend checking it out.

Local Food.As in, farm to table. (Yay!)Great Service.If you’re like me however, and you’re seeking something that’s not beef or a steak, go elsewhere.This is not your place.However, if you’re seeking some local, farm beef this is your spot.Had some OK tacos, cajun style. Even tho this place is great, it’s not my type of food so I won’t be back.However, it would be a great spot if this is your kind of food.

Burger was good. Good thing they call it the bank vault because they nickel and dime you for everything. Extra two dollars for veggies that are supposed to be on a burger ridiculous.

I stopped in for a burger to go and their burgers were so juicy! Their bacon was thick. Their fries were perfect. My mom also had an upset stomach so they suggested she have soda water. They concocted a drink for her ulcer. Very sweet and helpful staff.

Hands down best burgers while on the road!They use local beef which you can buy there as well. My son ordered second helping of the French fries. Gluten-free bun was available and house made iced tea.Authentic place welcome to all!

Im in town visiting from Minnesota for 2 weeks visiting some close friends of mine that live out here. We decided to stop in for a drink as we were traveling thru site seeing the mountains and the area.Cora was are bartender; we were playing music having a great time, socalized with some locals we finished our 1 drink and asked for another one in a plastic cup cause we were going to drink our drinks outside.Cora proceeded to walk to the back when we asked for another drink in a plastic cup. She returned with 2 other people with her and something seemed off as they all were looking at us yet staring at the ceiling? The two accompanying Cora walked out to the front door stood at the enternace of the bar.We asked Cora what was going on and asked her if she thought we had to much to drink she was very hesitant and replied yes.So we disregarded our order of another round of drinks and left. What a awful experience and will definately be letting people know and will not be rerunring there again. Felt so unwelcomed and super offended for having ONE drink and being told we were drunk!!!
