This place is terrible. First, they are the rudest restaurant in the area. Their service is deplorable. Their prices are unreasonable. Their food is garbage. The only reason they have been around since 1951 is because there is no where else to eat in Glacier Village. Also, we came in at 8:45 to get some ice cream and the lady cleaning the floors got mad at us because we walked in. Don’t say you’re open until 9 if you’re mad about serving customers at 8:45. Awful. Awful. Awful. Trash establishment.

A real gem in a beautiful glacier ridden town... s much needed IPA beer and 3 to choose from and at $5 each we had plenty before ordering Bison Burgers at the very same bar stool.... Great visit and the locals rule too!!

Freda's bar is remarkably average and the food we had was all whelming. It's possible we may have even been more disappointed if we weren't hiking all day and entirely exhausted and just needed food so badly.The Angus burger was fine, they don't ask about the cook you want so you'll get it however it comes out. All sides are extra and that's disappointing because for just a burger or a sandwich it's relatively expensive already. The beyond burger got a similar review, the Cole slaw was not good, potato salad was fine and fries were enjoyable. Then subtract points for a ketchup and mustard pump that are almost always more hassell than they are worth.Service was fine, I saw some heavy complaints from others but our experience was no more or less pleasurable than the average.The atmosphere was chill, it's nice inside and there is plenty of outside seating.Don't necessarily recommend it, but if you're hungry, you'll be able to check that box. Enjoy!

They have local beers. That's great. They have food, and it's reasonably cooked. That's great too. Sure, the nacho fries may weirdly taste like pizza, but come on. You ordered something called nacho fries. You have no one to blame but yourself.Drink a beer. Put your trust in the deep fryer. Maybe a super-drunk leather-clad biker dude with a Lemmy-stache will hit on you. Maybe not.Whatever. Freda Ostby might be proud of her bar now Maybe not. Sit at the bar, make yourself a new Montana Friend, and have a good time.

The loaded fries were soggy and cold. Chicken Bahn Mi was also served cold. I was not happy. At least the milkshake tasted good!!

Excellent service at the bar. A dozen Montana draughts, a little bit of wine, and the bar is stocked with spirits from Montana distilleries. No indoor seating at this time.

Severely overpriced even for a national park: $19 for a basic burger served in a cold bun and with green tomatoes and no side like fries; $16 for an elk wiener served also in a cold bun and without a side. Unless you are starving to death, avoid. Do not fall for the contrived and hollow corporate styling or the location convenience. Many more and better options as little as seven miles west.

Was totally ignored for 20 minutes, and left hungry and thirsty. There isn’t many options after tourist season is over ( September)in this area, so we were very angry.

Food 3.5, Value 1.5, sandwiches $17 -$20. Sides and drinks extra. 2 sandwiches, 1 order of fries, 2 soft drinks came to $58. Husband ordered the peace park sandwich and said it was really good. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It was good but nothing special.

I think mediocre would be a compliment to this place. Basically it's nothing but out of the package warmed-up foods served in the most economical fashion possible. A gray bison burger with cold unadorned buns and self-service condiments for the low low price of $20. Don't think so!

The huckleberry pie was hands down the best thing I've ever eaten. If I was on death row, it would be my last meal. It was so good, I made my roommate go to the counter and get me another piece because I was embarrassed going back for seconds.1000/10 would recommend!!

Im reviewing for the cafe next to it- overpriced, stale food.. and racially biased staff taking care of white customers first despite being there late :/ my Asian parents were “scolded” for grabbing coffee that they told us would be self-service. Unfortunate experience. I hope it’s an individual incident!

Sad to have had limited time in GNP but will admit to spending two evening’s at Freda’s. First with Mike at the bar, then with Al. Both guys were great to buy beers from and chat about all things life and local. If you’re in the area, it’s a comfortable and inviting place to layover, highly recommended.

This place was a much-needed stop after a bike ride in Glacier. Even though the bar was out of some things (expected, as it is end-of-season) Nadine was more than gracious and recommended some local products to try. Definitely a must-stop when visiting the park

Got a flat tire at 10 pm, so the park ranger took us here to make calls. The huckleberry margarita made my night a little better. It's a must to try. I wish it was a bit stronger, but i definitely enjoy the taste.

Located right outside of the park. Freda's Bar is a must! The huckleberry honey ale is amazing ! We loved the service we received from Al that we decided to come back the next evening. Stop by on your way out of the park !

Great local beer selection, good food. Only negative point was we had to watch an older bartender named Al yell at a lady bartender who was just trying to help him today.Didnt make for a pleasant afternoon.
