I hadn’t been to the café in quite a while when we stopped a couple months ago for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We went back again this week, and, again, had a great dining experience. The food is nothing fancy, but its classic diner/café faire served quickly and at a fair price… it is one of the best ‘exactly what I’d expect’ restaurants I’ve been to in a while. If you want a quick meal that feels like home-cooking, I definitely recommend stopping here if you’re in the area.I want to make a special note about the prices/value. You don’t have to drive very far from here to pay way more for a worse meal. The prices are very reasonable for the quantity/quality of food. Again, right on the mark.

This was the exact kind of breakfast in the exact kind of small town I wanted to experience when road tripping across Montana. In terms of atmosphere, it's a small town restaurant where it seems like everybody knows each other, and I loved it. No bells and whistles except where it matters - in the kitchen.I had a basic breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns and biscuits/gravy. My husband had the steak and eggs. Everything was made fresh and tasted delicious! While there, we made conversation with a couple of local people who provided advice/insight into our upcoming adventure.Be sure to check out the Sacagawea Hotel just down the street from Three Forks Cafe. It looks beautiful. Sadly we only had time to glance before getting back on the road.

When menu says "thick sliced bacon" they mean it. It was particularly delicious as part of a classic American breakfast. Healthy-minded folks will choose oatmeal porridge with raisins. Either will keep you moving. The diner is the best of small town eating. Casual atmosphere, easy-going service and a no-rushing-the-customer policy. I love a place with booths. Would love to go back to check out other meals of the day.

This is that place where the local-area ranchers and farmers have their morning breakfast and coffee klatch. I'm currently one of only two females I can see; the other taking orders and serving tables. Though I live elsewhere in the valley and have been here once or twice before, it is typically out of my way for breakfast, but last night a spring blizzard forced me off I-90 while I was on my way home. Breakfast here is my consolation prize.Just a few minutes ago, one of the other customers (clearly a regular) grabbed some cups and a coffee pot and made a coffee round of all the tables (except for mine, probably because I'm not a regular) because of how busy our single server is at the moment. (I'm guessing either the road conditions or our current pandemic kept her helper away this morning.) Yes, this is that place. One of the last best cafes in The Last Best Place. For breakfast, I ordered chicken fried steak. Pictured is my plate, complete with the extra crispy hash browns I asked for. (Confession time: I had to take a bite of my hash browns before I took the photo.) Not pictured are the two pieces of toast (I ordered rye) that accompany this meal on a separate plate. This is what breakfast is supposed to look like.I can't justify driving 30 miles just to order breakfast, but if I work it right, I might arrange to meet up with a friend for breakfast here someday. Or lunch, or dinner. I'm not picky. I mostly like the hometown atmosphere, but the food is pretty awesome, too.

Service was great, but none of the food was good. The veggie omelette was barely cooked through and came with cheese even though is wasn't listed on the menu, the gravy had so much pepper is was spicy hot with it, and the breakfast burrito would have been better from a gas station. I would like to say something was good but the food was just disappointing. Unfortunately they were the only cafe open before 11 in Three Forks that day.

I'm from the Texas Gulf coast and have eaten fish all my life. To say the Flathead Trout was about the best fish I've eaten is a big deal. The only thing better was my grandmother's fried catfish. The sides were delicious, also. And, the hostess was so gracious, as was Annie, our waitress. Can't say enough good things. We'll be back.❤️

Most amazing coffee I've ever tried. Super creamy and strong but without the burnt coffee bean taste. Always consistent! Sandwiches are some of the best I've tried. I HATE sauerkraut and corn beef, but the reuben was the best sandwich I've ever had hands down. If you don't stop here while you're in town, you're missing out. ❤️

Food was delicious. The people liked staring, and the wait staff was very clearly uncomfortable with us, pretty unfriendly and short with us while cutting up with everyone else. This place passed for food but didn’t pass the vibe check. Probably should avoid if you’re not an old, white, straight conservative.

Had breakfast there this morning. It was good but the plate was cold so it seamed to sick the heat out of the food. Coffee and service was also good.

Perfect small diner with no-frills breakfast. The sausage patty is excellent and the plain egg/hash brown breakfast is more than enough. They take good care of the inside and keep the tables and booths clean. The wait staff is very friendly and the food is reasonably priced for what you get. I'll definitely be in here again.
