What a great start to our hunt test and hunting journey. Thank you Marcus Bellows for all your care and attention to getting these two very different dogs started. Both JR Titles. One Senior Title working on Master and one Working on SR Title. All at just two years old. Your meticulous style and attention to detail were key to gaining momentum first and keeping them excited about retrieving. Cant wait to come back and train in August at the Ronan hunt test. Hope to have two running masters by then. I also want to give a special thanks to Vicky for her hospitality and kindness during our visit. You two are amazing.

We sent our girl quin for a season with Marcus. And the transformation in her is amazing!! Marcus focus and dedication to training is great!! We couldn’t be more happy with how she went in a puppy and came out an amazing bird dog!! We are looking to MANY years of seeing her out in the field!!

We took our Rottweiler here for obedience training. Marcus was able to work with our stubborn girl and got her heeling, staying and lying down. She will also load up into our car now, where before she was too afraid. Our walks with her are so much more pleasant. No more being drug around. He also has been so kind and offered for us to come back if she needs any refreshers. He goes above and beyond and truly loves the dogs!

I asked a friend of mine who is in the field trial circuit if he knew of a trainer who did break out training, for I had just gotten a pup. He referred me to Marcus and I'm so glad he did. Marcus received Blue in the spring of 21. Since, Marcus has developed Blue into an obedient, confident, skilled, eager to please hunting companion. It is a pleasure to hunt with Blue & I attribute that to the training he has received at Mudd Creek. I believe Marcus maximizes a pups/adult potential. First class operation!

If you are looking for a trainer that can make your dog an all around great hunter whether it be for ducks, geese or pheasant Marcus at Mudd creek is your guy. My dog Murphy hunt’s waterfowl and pheasant and is a joy to hunt over. Long story short my guide in SD asked if he could use him every season all season. If I’d said yes I wouldn’t still be married!!😂 that tells you what kind of home dog he is too.Thanks again Marcus!!

We had the privledge of having our dog trained by Marcus. It has been incrediable to see how far our dog had come since leaving him at Mudd Creek Retrievers. I have been able to visit and observe several of his training days. Marcus has the talent of being able to connnect with each dog. He is able to bring out the very best and knows just what it takes based on the personality of the dog. We felt like we recieved a custom training plan that was specific to our dog and our goals. I also appreciate the time that Marcus spent with me making sure I was educated and informned as to how to handle my dog in the field.

I have a dog Marcus is training. I am quite happy with the progress my dog has made so far. Marcus is a “dog guy”. He really cares about the dogs he trains and wants them all to perform at their highest potential. Every dog is different. He recognizes strengths and weaknesses and trains the dog accordingly. He keeps the owners apprised of the dogs progress and encourages the owner to participate in the training. I highly recommend Mudd Creek Retrievers to anyone who wants to have a hunting dog trained.

I have the privilege to have my dog Deets trained with Marcus at Mudd Creek. I have watched Marcus train a kennel full of dogs. Some competitors in the field trial and hunt test world, some gun dogs and some just starting out. Marcus trains them all with care, a world of knowledge, understanding and compassion. He trains the dogs at their level where ever they are.His kennels are always clean and the dogs are taken care of better than most people. The thing that most impresses me about Marcus is he is always available to teach the handler as well. From training with him and Deets at his place to phone calls when at home he is there to make both dog and handler better.I started out just wanting to get my new dog trained and ended up having Marcus and Vicki as some of my most dear friends.If you have a young retriever and want a better companion, hunting buddy or competitor give Marcus a call. You will not be disappointed .

I came to Mudd Creek Retrievers and Marcus in 2021. I brought a pup for breakout training and got so much more. I have since placed another puppy at Mudd Creek and will continue to do so. I can’t say enough great things about Marcus and his training program at Mudd Creek Retrievers. He took on our extremely shy, soft, nervous, and low confidence, low pressure lab Murphy who we rescued from a bad previous living situation. Murphy was a dog when I dropped her off who was timid to get out of the truck let alone run marks and retrieve. After just three months she came back a completely different dog! She gained confidence, learned basic obedience, was taught retrieving skills that will allow her to hunt for her first upcoming season. Marcus truly cares about every dog and sets them up for success. The kennels are extremely clean, the training grounds are all well maintained, and the truck is it top shape. I can’t wait to continue to train together in the future!
