A fantastic visit. The interpretive centre and shop are a must visit to understand Crow history as well as life of Chief Plenty Coups. The house and land are fascinating. But our visit was made by the patient and kind ranger who answered out endless questions and showed us stuff we had missed in the exhibition. Quiet for a Sunday and a bit of a trip from Billings. But well worth it. Thanks again to the Park ranger for her help.

It is easily a special place to share….Perhaps, it was s a spiritual connection where the breeze and grassland met the sky.Wonderful day trip and plenty of picnic parking to commune with natures peace.

Cool place with some great history and memorabilia of the past for the Crow Indians. Nice staff, short trail walks, picnic area, out door bathrooms and some cool Prairie Dog towns down the road.

I am so angry! There was no one on duty that I could see and the note on the door of the visitor centre said that the centre was closed (pity as I believe it’s very good) but the house was open - which I think strange and very risky. The house was not cared for - it was filthy - flies not having been swept up, obviously for weeks.(I didn’t take photographs because I’m not sure the tribe would have wanted it) There was rubbish outside and the fact that it was open and unguarded made me particularly cross - no respect at all for the man who built it. Another visitor came in after me and wasn’t monitored either - there was simply no one there!I was accompanied by an absolutely charming dog - who lay on the verandah outside whilst I went round the house. He deserves to go on the payroll! The old leather chair in the chiefs rather wonderfully decorated room upstairs, and so beautifully photographed, on the website, was covered in a think layer of dust. It just felt disrespectful to the memory of a great man. It’s a beautiful location and I found the house very moving. I’m just so sad that it isn’t better protected. Surely there must be members of the Crow tribe who would act as guardians when it’s open?If it can’t be monitored there should be a note that the whole place is closed - to protect it.

Wonderful place that is off the beaten path. Absolutely delightful people working there. They really know the history and love the place. You can tell. This location gets a lot to support it from sales so please purchase something to support such a historical site

This state park is amazing, especially if you are interested in history. The museum is very well done, is very comprehensive, and you are able to access all of it. The annual day of honor and remembrance was fascinating and humbling. Definitely worth a visit!!

Excellent park that gives a good history of this most famous leader. The park staff are wonderful and know a lot about Chief Plenty Coups. It's a bit of a drive, but worth it. Respect the Locals and their culture and the place they call home.Playground: There is a new playground hereRestrooms: All outdoor restroomsDog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed and stay on the trails.Picnic area: Plenty of places to picnic

Didn't go into the museum, however took a look around the park. You can walk up to the house and look around, a lot of picnic areas and some bbq pits. Seating and some plaques to give you a little history of Chief Plenty Coups.

We took a group of 8 kids to this park. They had some fun learning actives inside the visitor center. There is so much to read, you could spend all day. Was neat to learn about the history of the land. The hike was easy with nice view points.

Very educational Native American historical site showing many timelines of the Native history. The cabin of Chief Plenty Coups was neat and kept clean. There's a spring on the property that runs into a small creek. The grounds were nice and maintained, even watering the lawn while we were there. They had a potable water hose which was a life saver for our RV as we were empty on water, we had no idea that was there and saw it immediately upon pulling in. Thanks for having that available!

My family visited Chief Plenty Coups State Park in January--definitely the off season. It is a serene, quiet place. The ranger was very friendly, explaining the site, the exhibits in the visitor's center, and the Chief's home. The park staff is exemplary is their respect and care for the Native materials that they maintain. The home was larger than I'd expected. It has few furnishings, some from the Chief and his period, and I believe there are some items from later owners. The exhibits in the visitor's center are very well done, with excellent explanations, graphics, and of course, the original items themselves. The small shop in the visitor's center is a great place to by locally made Native crafts and jams. The park is a bit off the main roads, though definitely worth a visit.

Great history to see at the museum. The gentleman that was cutting the lawn took a good 20 minutes or more giving us some history of Chief Plenty Coups house and the surrounding area. 5 stars

Absolutely amazing staff at this cool little park. It's small but it has a nice walking trail, a cool visitor center, and it's a really cool place overall. And most importantly, there was a very friendly dog named Muttley that was there to greet me!

First time visiting, it was later in the day so we were just able to visit the graves and walk past a couple of the buildings. The signs are quite informative. I would like to visit again sometime when the museum is open.

Came on a Sunday, the fluffy black dog was an absolutely excellent tour guide. We had an absolute blast with her leading us on the walkways. 10/10 would go again. Please make sure the black dog stays around!
