Shout out to Alex (and Jeff😂) in the shoe department!!! He was really helpful when I was trying on hiking boots and comparing brands. He asked the right questions that helped me pick the right pair, plus he was personable and attentive - service seldom found in retail these days. Shannon at checkout was also really helpful and kind. Wished I lived in Missoula so I could shop at this location regularly!!!! Thank you to the great staff!

Went to return a jacket that was ripped and Kinsey, one of the retailers, was completely rude and dismissive. I understand that that customer service is tough, but dang, I have never been talked to like that.Thankfully Arden, the manager stepped in and was able to help and resolve the issue with professionalism and grace.

So called out door retailer. As of the time I tried to shop at the store they only carried ski gear. No snowboard gear to speak of, I don't understand why you would carry a limited amount of ski gear and no snowboard gear. No fishing equipment either. The store Is full of Patagonia for those who want to look like they are "outdoorsy". As they get there gourmet Frappuccino in town.

Smaller than REI stores I'm used to from Seattle and San Francisco, but just as fun to explore. Staff were very helpful. Had a great chat with Elizabeth about her hikes in Nepal and got great recommendations for what gear to bring for trekking the Basecamp.About a dozen choices for sleeping bag liners, which is the main thing I was shopping for.

The staff is very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. They had the Trek Poles that I wanted and my annual REI Dividend paid for them!!! Thanks! ☆☆☆☆☆

We had a great experience here on 2 September 2023. We ordered a cargo rack for our Subaru and the employee who helped us, Parker, was extremely helpful! He was knowledgeable about the product and assisted us installing it in the car and making sure everything was in place. It was a great experience thanks to Parker!

I went to check out and asked for a bag and was informed that REI is now bagless. Really no more bags to carry my items out to my vehicle. What is REI trying to do with this stupid Seattle liberal policy? If they really cared about the environment then why are most of items in the store still packaged in plastic.

Helpful in getting the new touring boots I wanted on a spring sale! The boots have been great so far, and if need be they'll help you get your boots properly fitted after you've used them. REI is a great place to go for specialty outdoor gear and they stand behind the products they carry if you ever have issues!

Not Dog Friendly. I absolutely love REI but recently tried to go in with my small pup and they asked me to leave. The gentleman was kind and everything just super bummed they wouldn't let us in. Every other are REI was dog loving.

I found this REI to be very nice, with excellent staff. Everyone seemed very helpful. Their selection must have been recently stocked up because, as a tall person, I was able find stuff for me.They also had a nice selection of freeze dried food, some of which I hadn't seen elsewhere. I was impressed with that.

Took our dogs to store in missoula but they don't allow dogs in store....not even to fit life vests for them. Bob wards, cabelas and scheels has allowed me to bring my dogs inside. Sad that rei has such an archaic policy for a supposedly progressive business.

Hi. This may not be appropriate, but I'm leaving this review for whoever took my ray bans I accidentally left on the sports bra rack a few weeks ago, to please just return them to the store. They were actually a sentimental gift. please & thank you! ❤️

The staff is very friendly and helpful! I needed a new pair of hiking boots. I had four boots picked out to try on but none of them were quite right. Linda at the shoe department recommended a pair of La Sportivas and they were perfect. Exactly what I needed! Thank you Linda!Accessibility note: There's one disabled parking space in the main lot, and one directly in front of the store. The one in front of the store is on the far right side, and this is the only ramp up to the sidewalk.

The only time the employees acknowledge me is when they want me to sign up and become a member. As soon as I decline, their friendly personalities evaporate and then I am ignored. I came into this location last weekend to get another bag of Rockin' Green laundry detergent and it is no longer carried there. However I had to go to two different employees to ask. One employee said "Oh I don't know but if we have it, it is by the back door." Then he continued to stare at the entrance, watching for potential nonmembers he could use to make quota. What do you mean you don't know? Maybe your employees should be more concerned about helping customers instead of poaching potential member sign ups.... I got this product at REI and at this location. There needs to be more product location training, so your employees know what products are carried or discounted.I walked back to the end of the store to continue my search and that brand of detergent wasn't there. I walked up to the employee in the shoe department, who had no customers in his section, and he acted aloof. When I asked him if he had seen the detergent, I got another "I don't know..." and he wouldn't even make eye contact with me while providing an answer. I had to ask him again if he could look it up as he tried to walk away. Which he begrudgingly did and then replied "Nope, sorry" and walked in to the back. Nice, thanks bud..stellar customer service. The Missoula REI can do better and provide quality customer service to members AND nonmembers. Kalispell's REI has attentive employees who actually help their customers and do not constantly badger everyone to become members. Take some notes from them and apply those practices to the Missoula location.

My husband and I visited this store on Sunday 4/18/2021. We just wanted to look at hiking backpacks for our daughter who will be working in Yellowstone National Park for the summer. We didn’t have any intention of buying one on this visit. The employees are so nice and welcoming. They take their time with you and explain everything in detail. They don’t rush you and they don’t pressure you into buying anything. We did end up buying a backpack there and never regretted it. Their selection and knowledge far surpasses any other place we looked.

I love shopping at REI and this store is no exception. This store mainly features clothing and equipment, but also has a section for bicycle sales, repair, and maintenance. Clothing options include name brands as well as REI. There are some racks for clearance, which could be more clearly featured.Overall, this REI store does what it can, especially since it's only one floor. Yes, the membership is totally worth it :)

I found what I was looking for which was a pair of backpacking pants, bear spray, and some freeze-dried food for camping. The cashier who helped me was very friendly and helpful, which I appreciated a lot. However, I was passed by at least two staff a total of four times without asking if I needed help or even saying “hi” after making eye contact. That part seemed odd to me but again, very friendly and helpful cashier!

Super friendly and helpful people in the bike repair department and around the store in general. I got my two bike wheels fixed up in less than an hour.

The bike, the helmet and the pants came from REI. Their bike and ski/snowboard service department are great, too.

When I travel in my van, I stop at almost every REI to look around and stretch my legs (and normally always spend too much $). Staff is always friendly and reliable. Products they sell are quality items and ALWAYS LAST. I appreciate the items they choose to sell and I appreciate what they stand for. This store if no exception.Thank you REI !

First time at REI and the experience was amazing. I went in looking for a rooftop cargo box. As soon as I found the cargo box display I was greeted by an associate who answered all of my uncertainties. I asked him if I could purchase the THULE Motion XL. He asked another Associate to grab it for me and proceeded with the purchase. He walked me through signing up for the REI lifetime membership and perks. At no point rushing through the transaction. I was blown away when he asked me if I had something to install it on. He readjusted my factory cross rails and installed the cargo box for me. What a relief!! I'm happy I came to REI and plan on shopping here more often. Excellent customer service and products. Thank you!!

Very disappointed in the service we recieved today. I've been a loyal customer since the mid 90's. Today my wife and I wanted to buy a portable battery backup for my CPAP. There was one listed in stock for pickup at 199.95. When we got here to pick it up the sticker on the shelf stated 199.95 and there were two units on that shelf. Unfortunately, the units didn't match what the sticker said. The unit rang up at 299.95... there was no sticker price anywhere on the shelf showing that. The manager came over and basically said we were idiots because the two things didn't match up. He didn't even bring over the correct one that was 199.95, he stated it was around the corner on the end cap. Not sure if I will return to REI.

Great store for outdoor enthusiasts. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Merchandise is not cheap, but they only carry high quality stuff. If you become a member (20$ one time fee) you get 10% rebate off everything, plus they regularly send you 20% off coupons that make a big dent on larger items

The sales people in the shoe department used microaggressions. After looking at shoes for nearly 30 minutes, I had to ask for assistance. The customers in the shoe department were more helpful. REI didn't have any of the shoes I requested, and I thought she was going to say no anyway, based on her lack of customer service to me specifically. The other customers served received adequate service, but I was ignored. In fact, the sales person came out with a different shoe, 2 sizes bigger. She barely looked at me. I was never approached by any of the staff to assist me, even after the other customers who came in behind me had been served. If that isn't microaggression, I don't know what is. This is not treatment a member should deal with, regardless of race.

Bob in cycling has helped me out twice now in the last year and has gone above and beyond with the care and attention he gives my ride. Even re-wrapped some Brooks handlebar grip when I needed to replace cables. Who said it couldn't be done!? Excellent customer service. Other staff have been helpful and friendly, too

I recently just purchased my bike here, the staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable. It was also pretty nice being able to check out at the back of the store where the bike shop is. Since I checked out back there I didn’t have to wait in line and was in and out within a few minutes. The guy ringing me up was super helpful too, he gave the name of a few apps that tracked your progress as well as had trail maps of the area for bikes. I’m pretty happy with my purchase and excited to get my dividends back from the purchase.

I can't say enough good things about REI in general but this store is fantastic. All the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. REI is pricy but you're getting exactly what you pay for and their products last. They stand behind them with a great warranty and return policy.

I have never really been a huge fan of REI. I think they are overpriced and their staff always bug you about becoming a member. You get asked about 20 times per visit by everyone you pass. Recently I went to REI and they have a guard at the door policing masks, once in the store they have more people walking arond yelling at people who's mask happens to fall of their nose. I understand there is a "mandate", not a law but treating customers like kids is out of hand. I won't give them any more of my money. How you treat your customers reflect on your business as a whole.

10 Stars! Greeted the moment I walked into the store. Asked to see store manager (Craig) whom I'd had a phone conversation with earlier in the day. He promptly arrived at my side and guided me over to a specialty section. Craig showed me several items and ended up suggesting the most appropriate one for my needs. Super friendly cashier got me checked out and on my way in a jiffy. Great service, great store, wonderful people. Thanx!
