I don’t know if this is a coffee spot or a bakery, but it sure is good at both. It still is usually pretty relaxed and not too crowded here, so part of me doesn’t even want to leave a review. But the thing is, if you get the coffee and dip the Pan au Chocolat in it, it’s just sooo good. And there’s lots of space and places to sit and the people are nice and there’s water cups too. The baguette is a staple; definitely take that home with ya and eat the whole thing while fresh. Many reasons to like this place. Great coffee! Thank you!!

Yummy! This place is great. Everything croissant and Berry Baca were delicious. Coffee was a little bitter for my taste but that is more personal preference not quality

What a pleasant surprise this place was! On my way to Washington state, I stopped at this bakery as I am obsessed with French bread and had been told by locals to check it out. This bakery lives up to the hype. The baguette and Pain de campagne reminded me of the ones I had in France. The crust was perfect and the inside was airy and soft. Other kinds of bread were also available. On top of that, this place serves coffee and it was also quite delicious and carefully madeA section with salamis and other charcuterie was also there to go with your bread. You can stay and enjoy your coffee in the big open space inside the store.I highly recommend this place for bread. Stopping for their other products will be also quite enjoyable.

Love this place. They always have yummy pastries, and not always the same thing every time. Today I had a Bacca Florentine and was not disappointed at all. The staff are always friendly. A very popular place.

The coffee is really burnt, I wish they would use a lighter coffee for their espresso. Vibe is funny and so Missoula. Pastries are the best!

Friendly staff, safe covid procedures, really appreciated the adorably illustrated menu outside.Pastries were quite disappointing, from my (subjective) point of view. I like my pastries in the French style, buttery, flaky, and tender to chew. Every pastry we tried at 9am was bready and some were stale. The pain des matins was difficult to bite through (took some testing), and though sugary, did. It have much other flavor. The almond croissant was like a croissant I might find at an Asian bakery (like Paris baguette), appearing much like a croissant, but not having the taste or texture. Same story with the ham and cheese. As a visitor, I am sad not to be able to recommend you a better spot.I think had I known what I was getting, my expectations would have been better set. The experience was not wholly unenjoyable, it just was not what I signed up for.Cannot comment on the coffee/espresso or bread offerings.

I come here every time I stop through town! I highly recommend the coffee and any of the baked goods. Today I picked up one of their everything seasoned croissants that is filled with a scallion cream cheese. Holy cow it was delicious! They also offer a great little market of high end cooking and hosting merchandise!

Latte was delicious. Pastries were very good but not all the way there. Very good though and we’d love to try it again. The matin wasn’t as flaky as I’d like and the scone flavor was lacking.

What a find -- although given how crowded it was, a lot of other people have found it too! Super friendly counter service, amazing selection of pastries. And the bread? Well, I only wish I needed a loaf or baguette, because it all looked mouthwateringly delicious. Instead I got a coffee (free refill) and an amazing pastry with sweet cheese and blackberries on top. Communal seating worked well -- I sat on one of the sofas because all the table spots were taken. Very cool vibe. Great place!

I have been here a couple times. The coffee is usually okay and I haven't really gotten anything to eat tho. The staff are usually nice and friendly. They also are pretty quick on making coffee. The atmosphere is pretty neat. There are couches, and it feels cozy to me.

Favorite bakery in all of Montana! Excellent quality and love the different varieties of pastries. Definitely will stop again when we’re in town.

Pastry afficionado here. Almond croissant was not so great. Not too sweet which is good but there was not enough almond filling and the croissant itself wasn't crispy and flakey. Halfway between a soft grocery store croissant and a crispy proper french croissant.Bacca Florentine was great in flavor but the pastry didn't again have enough custard to mitigate the dry-ness. Ok.The everything croissant with herb cream cheese filling was the best and was great - not too crispy flakey but with the cream cheese it holds well as soft sandwich type thing with great flavor.Like that it's a social hub and less of an in and out coffee place.

Not only are the baked good delicious, but this is the only place I've found that has legit dark roast drip coffee. Medium roast and espresso isn't for everyone and they get that! Thanks for having great options and being open early for us travelers.

A little strange.. or a little outrage... not sure, but I am très heureux I stumbled upon Le Petit Outre during a chilly morning walk during a recent Missoula business trip.I am almost entirely gluten free at home, so I try to do "gluten with gusto" when away from family. A lot of times I will search out patisseries or boulangeries when traveling, but this time I was just too tired and forgot, so I think it was fate I made the discovery.I had a cappuccino while my order of ham and cheese croissants, almond croissants and pain au raisins were boxed up. But while I am a lover of nearly all things made with laminated dough, it is rare I see chocolate bouchons and I don't remember seeing canelles in a very long time. Both were awesome, but the bouchons weren't as rich as I remember them from my past. The croissants were fantastic and welcomed at the 9am meeting I had an hour later.Interesting funky vibe, inviting folks behind the counter, very reasonable prices and plenty of quality pastries. There were also some wonderful looking loaves of bread, but I passed.Glad I made a new "must revisit" find; I actually turned some Missoula residents into Le Petit Outre fans.

I've always liked La Petit, ever since Leif Bjelland opened it years ago. Since it's been sold, I do wish that they could bake flakier croissants. Wild Crumb in Bozeman is a lot better.

Very busy when I visited Saturday morning. Wide selection of quality bakery items. If you buy a loaf of sourdough bread though you better eat it within a day or two before it turns into a brick

Love the bread and pastries, coffee is pretty good, only downside is that it’s so good it tends to be difficult to find a place to sit. :)

Best espresso in town, my opinion. Awesome pastries and breads, jams, honey for sale. Sometimes the workers aren’t very friendly, and if they are talking to their friends while serving others, even less so. Overall would recommend, good products and great atmosphere. Most always a line.

I can’t give less than five stars, because I love their bread. Unfortunately, an older woman that does deliveries for them was extremely rude. Maybe she was having a bad day, because I certainly wasn’t feeling well myself. I was sitting in my car at the GFS and employee had been outside getting boxes near the delivery area. She said I was fine to sit there, but I wouldn’t want to park and leave the car, because I could move it someone needed me to. It’s also a Sunday, which I guess very few deliveries occur. I didn’t block the delivery door that says Do Not Park at all. A women delivering from Le Petit pulled up in her small hybrid car and tossed some recycle in the GFS recycling. The employee was watching and glaring at her, because the recycle is for the GFS only. The woman from Le Petit then pulled into the no parking area and in a snarky tone said, “This says do not park!” Again, I had let someone out and never left the car. I would have been more than happy to move had she asked me to. Maybe she was having a rough day, but her actions were confrontationally. I did offer to move and then she said no that it was fine. I really, really do hope her day gets better and there was no intention on my part to cause her any problems. Thought I had done everything right: checked with the employee, it was a Sunday and I didn’t sit in front of the clearly marked Do Not Park sign.

Very good moca, just a bit disappointed because they didn't have whip. It was quite cool in the place, but we were glad we had wraps on. We did warm up after awhile. I would go back.

Best coffee in town! Anyone who gives this place a bad rating is definitely a Californian. These pastries! Am I in France?! I don’t know, I’ve never been there! They’re so good! My little girl loves the Bacca Florentines!

Ordered two overpriced mediocre scones and coffees to go. staff was not friendly whatsoever and wouldn’t heat up our scones upon request. Did not leave room for cream in my coffee upon request. Complete lack of kindness and customer service. I asked where the straws were and instead of being helpful I was barked at for taking my mask off. Would have received a much better experience at the nearby Starbucks. With my scone heated... 👎👎👎👎👎
