Caras Nursery is Missoula's most amazing local nursery run Bill Caras and his knowledgeable and friendly Staff. I absolutely love shopping here. Prepare to be here at least an hour because the nursery is situated on many acres.I highly recommend you buy from here because the knowledge of customer service exceeds the benchmark and the friendly and professional guidance you will receive on your visit is Legendary!I even found a coffee plant at CARAS!

They have everything under the sun here, but it’s all so, so expensive. I’d say that quality is worth the price but there were quite a few tragically neglected plants. It seems like they need more staff for their enormous collection of plants, many of which require special care. I did discover that the “jade plant” I’d been gifted was actually a Portulacaria afra aka spekboom aka elephant bush. A lot of plants are mislabeled, though, which led to my very first houseplant death 😢. Oh well.

They are great for all gardening needs but nothing beats their Christmas shop. It's a yearly tradition for my family! Trees decorated in a large variety of themes, with all the ornaments buyable. Just remember, there's lots of breakable so watch little miss grabby hands.

I really like this nursery. Excellent selection of plants throughout the seasons. Lots of cute accessories as well as a decent selection of "normal" accessories.4 stars because I feel some of their houseplants and planters/pots are overpriced. I have had to immediately repot several of their propagations (not from a vendor). They were in very poor draining soil and they had root rot.Overall, very happy to be near such a nice nursery. 95% of their plants are in great health. I recommend them.

It is a great place to wander around and look at the decorated Christmas trees and ornaments. Keep your eye open at the register, though, because the price codes on the ornaments can be misunderstood.

Thoroughly impressed! We recently relocated to Missoula from St. Louis and lost some plants in the process. Once we got things 90% arranged at the new place it became apparent that we needed more green things, and my brother recommended this nursery. An although the variety is fantastic, I imagine that it will be better in a few weeks as spring sets in. The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful, and I felt bad leaving without making a purchase (although we will DEFINITELY be back soon. We simply need to figure out where to put some of the plants we scoped out). I forgot to take pics, but expect some soon. Very inviting, well organized, and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Best place in town to get plants. Logical order and areas where plants are (native, herbs, etc). Comfortable to browse as well as basically anything you could need!

Nice people, most are very knowledgeable. Wonderful selection and labeled so we know what the deer and bunnies might leave alone. Love to use our Cara's Bucks to help lower to cost of plants. Lovely gift shop too. Great sales in the fall. Purchased a lot of plants over the years and would say that we've had 95% success rate. Their guaranty for plant survival is great. The dead stuff we brought back was replaced by Cara's, no hassle. Not the cheapest flower / gift shop in town, but a fun place to go and we always enjoy shopping there.

Our landscaper purchased an evergreen shrub and several perennials from Caras as part of a large landscape project. The shrub didn’t look all that healthy but we planted it anyway with the understanding that Plants that didn’t make it would be replaced. It was my landscaper’s experience that nurseries stand behind their products, especially when planted professionally. Caras refused to honor a replacement when the shrub died, or replace any of the three perennials that also didn’t make it. We had no trouble getting two bushes replaced by the Ace Garden Store. They replaced them with no hassle or questions asked. Ibey nursery also guarantees their trees and bushes for a year. We have spent thousands of dollars at Caras Nursery but no more, we will not be purchasing anything from them again.

Awesome variety. Excellent help to help find items, one even sang her own made up songs. She was a joy. After finding all of my items, I was met by another wonderful lady who helped me unload and take my cart. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

I am in town from Arizona visiting my daughter and she mentioned how beautiful this place was. I love plants so I’m always excited to see nurseries like this. The plants and varieties were absolutely amazing! But I do have to say the customer service was horrible. My daughter mentioned how she’s had bad interactions with employees before. I must say I was quite surprised seeing how it wasn’t even busy!! We were not greeted when walking in, at all!! Nobody offered help and even upon checking out the clerk was very stand offish!! It really made our visit awkward!!! I run a business in Arizona and I know how important customer service is. Hope this helps to make improvements because that first face you see helps set the vibe!!

Delightful place to browse and shop for houseplants, gardens, lawns, and all the supplies and accessories. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Bought some planters and black gold potting soil. Had my eye on small whimsical ceramic animal planters. They also had a summer fruit and veggie stand with corn, cherries, peaches, and apples, which I did not resist.

The plant shop that started it all! They have an amazing collection of houseplants in all sizes and prices. The employees have always been pleasant and will happily answer any questions. When I eventually get a house I can't wait to buy perennials and trees from Caras as well.

All of the employees here are so helpful and knowledgeable. I love how they set the store up in the summer, it feels like you are taking a walk in a lush garden. The winter time is equally delightful as they decorate Christmas trees with all sorts of beautiful ornaments you can purchase.

It has been my experience, in two separate events,, that Caras Nursery does not back up either their pots or their roses.I purchased a smaller sized glazed clay pot from Caras Nursery in July of last year for $24.99. I left it sitting outside on a covered deck over the winter.When I started potting plants this year, I came across last summer’s empty, unused pot to use, and found it disintegrating. The saucer was loose from the pot, glaze and pieces of the clay were flaking off in big areas.I took the pot back to Caras with the sales slip for the pot, with the intent of exchanging it for another pot which would be more durable. I was told they could not take the pot back. I was told that often pots often just did not survive for any length of time. That that was to be expected.It has not been my experience that small $25 pots do not last 10 months. Or I certainly wouldn’t purchase them.My second unpleasant experience with them was last summer when I had evaluated roses purchased the previous spring-summer (2019) for survival of the winter. Three had not. When I returned the dead roses with their receipts for replacement, they refused to replace them because clearly it was my fault they had not survived. (Caras charges $40 on up for roses, with a purported one year guarantee to replace them, except for “non-hardy” roses which only have a 90 day guarantee.)

Bought an indoor plant from Caras Nursery and Landscape. The lady that helped me pick the plant was very educated and listened to the location of where the plant would be and my experience. A few weeks after I purchased the plant I noticed it was struggling. I sent a message and picture over via Instagram and after a brief phone call we made a game plan. Overall great experience and I will be returning!

Do not believe that they will honor their replacement guarantee on perennials. Because they do not! My garden with the other flowers flourished but my $45 hydrangeas did not and the manager said that's just too bad.
