Black Coffee Roasting Co has the cutest, most inviting, and chill atmosphere. It is very clean, has plants, and the fresh air was just lovely! We just got breakfast and coffee to go as we were heading home to WA state, but I'm glad I found this gem. The lattes were good, but average, in my opinion. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and every item looked so good! My husband got a blueberry peach Danish. I didn't get a picture. It was very tasty, and the flavor combo was on point. My cardamom flavored item ( I forgot exactly what it is called) was crispy on the outside and light and flaky on the inside. It was good, too. I definitely recommend checking it out. I wish I lived closer as I really loved this coffee shop. The vibe was so chill.

I am obsessed with the prosciutto toast!! I always snag a bag of wheat bread when we visit. Great matcha too!Parking: Parking at this location can be an issue. Especially if you drive a truck like us. If this location is full we head to the one on Main Street (parking is free on the weekends).

Cute coffee shop inside what appears to be some type of hangar. Four different espresso options and a selection of different kinds of toasts with toppings. We got the house-made almond butter as well as the ham and cheese with arugula. Both were very tasty.

I come here just about every Saturday morning. Everything I’ve gotten has been great. I like that you choose the coffee used for espresso based beverages. The baked goods are also exceptional. I love the cardamom knots and pastry snails, and the toasts are on nice thick slices of bread. The new location in The Wren is beautiful and full of light, but I can’t wait for the old quonset hut location to reopen.

I really like Black Coffee, especially the Quonset hut location on Spruce Street. I was glad to see that location reopen this fall after it had been closed to the public for six months or so.In my opinion, the other downtown Black Coffee location in the Wren is not as desirable as the Spruce Street location for a variety of reasons, though they do sell the same coffee. Number one is parking. Parking is much more difficult at the Wren location. If you can find it nearby, you have to pay for it, or the aggressive enforcement by the Missoula Parking Commission's "meter maids" will result in a ticket. On Spruce Street, parking is free.Number two is the selection of baked goods is much larger at the Spruce Street location than the Wren location. I believe that both locations sell Grist baked goods. Grist bread is excellent, though pricey. Grist croissants are also excellent, and I'm not really that much of a croissant guy. I highly recommend having a pastry with your Black Coffee.Number three is the vibe of the Spruce Street location. It's an unlikely idiosyncratic location in which to enjoy a coffee and a pastry but it has organically developed into quite a comfortable spot to have a coffee in any season. In the winter, they have a gas fireplace going to help warm up the space and in the summer they open up the garage door of the Quonset hut to let the warm summer breezes envelop you. The Wren location by contrast is pretty sterile and antiseptic, which is great for cleanliness but not much for atmosphere. In my opinion, Black Coffee is probably the coffee with the most nuanced flavor in town. There are a melange of responses by my taste buds when I am sipping my drip coffee from Black Coffee, all of them good. Their coffee is sophisticated in its flavor.Having said all that, I like dark roasted coffee, which is not Black Coffee's specialty, though they do have a dark roast, The Dark. If you come in for a cup of drip, there are usually only one or two of their variety of roasts brewing. Though I appreciate the subtlety of most of Black Coffee's roasts, my taste buds like being hit with full force with a brewed dark roast. Therefore, I usually visit only once a week or so, but that is no slam on Black Coffee. It is just a matter of my individual preference. I think that their coffee is excellent and if you haven't sampled it yet, you should!

Made a diy flight of their espresso offerings. All beans seemed well roasted and shots had good crema. The Chiapas Decaf was a bit over extracted, AM and bloom were a bit under, but the Sidamo was next to perfect. The only other detractor was the foam on my cortado was a bit drier than it should be.All in all a good cup!Update: those sensitive to acid be wary! The acidity was a rough experience for me the following few hours.

I recently visited my favorite Missoula coffee shop and was delighted yet again. I ordered the prosciutto arugula toast. The service was phenomenal in that my server made certain it was perfectly toasted and the aromatics of olive oil and delicate dusting of pepper and salt were impeccably balanced in flavor AND texture. My cappuccino was silky and had a lovely depth of flavor.

Stopped here on a very cold Montana morning to grab breakfast before hitting the road. Excellent coffee and a sublime almond croissant. Right up there with the best I’ve ever had! Check it out!

We stopped at Black Coffee for lattes and toast. Enjoyed our toast, browsing their merch, and the atmosphere. Enjoyed our lattes a bit less. Turns out we're not fans of the "Laura" coffee blend, but that's why they make more than one kind, right!?

Stopped on my way to Glacier for a quick coffee and I was certainly pleased. Sad that I am from out of town since I would find myself here most weeks. Cold brew was superb and it wasn't very busy. The staff is very friendly and the shop is clean.

Was just passing through and so happy I did! Solid espresso with a full crema. Those coming in knew each other well enough to know it was the barista's birthday tomorrow and I heard other smatterings of community conversation, too. Everyone I encountered who worked there was friendly, kind and welcoming. The open design of the place itself is pretty cool and it also had some great outdoor seating. Yay Black Coffee!

This place is great everyone is super nice, coffee is great, and the bakery is delicious. Any review that says they don’t have good bites is irrelevant.

Very friendly baristas, very good cappuccino (you even get to pick between a handful of espressos). Nice atmosphere, too. BUT, don't come here to do work online because there is no Wi-Fi. Perfect place to come for a coffee with a friend and leave the technological world behind for just a little while.

Unfortunately I had a less than great experience. I have a service dog and walked in with him. I was told sorry we don’t allow dogs not even asking us if it was a service animal, I said to her not even a service animal and she said sorry. After that my wife got a coffee while I waited outside and the staff were short and curt with her, so not sure if they were having a bad day. I had heard such good things about their coffee and Missoula in general, but not asking the right questions and jumping to conclusions is not ok.

What a cool place for a coffee, nice to smell the roasting beans as they roast it on the spot. Coffee was good!

Airport location:Friendly staff and ridiculously sour espresso. If you are getting a latte and have lots of syrup added, I am sure it will be fine. But if you actually like the taste of espresso this place is awful. My guess is they simply have the wrong bean or roast. Tried twice...will simply skip coffee at the airport now.Update: it has been 7 months and I tried again.. .the espresso is still awful.
