We were on the hunt for a good donut and we found it! So many options makes it hard to choose but whatever you choose it is probably yummy. We went with the danish, some sort of sweet roll and the red velvet cupcake.The danish was our least favorite but still really good and worth trying. The red velvet was sweet and moist. But the sweet roll is where it’s at. We are definitely grabbing two of those sticky ones next time.

I use to buy from them for atleast 4 years straight many times a year, today on my 26th birthday simple mistake: huckleberries were added. But I will not eat huckleberries but my guest will. While I made a phone call my guests were already digging into the cake.Not knowing what the refund was they where already eating it before they returned the call about how the refund works. They said I would have the whole cake to even get a refund, here I am holding back tears in front of my guests, trying to celebrate my day.I’ll never order from here again.What I wanted vs what I got

The Black Cat Bake Shop catered our wedding dessert and they were absolutely AMAZING. We met with Lisa for our tasting and to design our dessert menu (we did a small cutting cake and a variety dessert table with lots of different goodies), and she was incredible. She was so helpful and made everything soooo easy! The cake and all of the little desserts (we had mini cheesecakes, lemon raspberry bars, brownies, macaroons, and pies) was all out of this world! Our family and friends were talking about it for days after the wedding!They sent a staff member to set up our dessert table, and I cannot even begin to describe truly how stunning he made everything look. I was taken aback by the entire thing.HIGHLY RECOMMEND them. Excellent food and service!

They made a delicious and beautiful wedding cake for my wedding and were able to recreate a smaller version when I ordered it again for my first wedding anniversary!Lisa is a great baker, and I look forward to using Black Cat again in the future!

Our original plan for custom cupcakes fell through at the last minute, so I took a chance and went to black cat and I am so glad I did. I spoke with Lisa and explained what I was looking for and she was very polite and accommodating. She explained in detail what she could do in such short notice. I was a little nervous picking up our order. When the cashier showed us the cupcake cake and smash cake I was so pleased and relieved. The cupcake cake and smash cake were beautifully elegant and amazingly delicious. I will be using black cat for all of my events.Thank you to the entire Black Cat Team...

I'll start out with the positive. These guys are probably the best bakery in town for baked sweets. Missoula has many very good bakeries, but in my opinion, Black Cat is the best. In particular, I think that their scones are the best that I've had anywhere. Many scones are dried out and difficult to swallow without something to wash the sand like crumbs down. Black Cat's scones aren't what I would call "moist" but they hold together better than most scones and are quite flavorful.They also have awesome biscuits and gravy on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Finally, their pies are excellent as well.Here is my quibble: maybe three months ago the servers in the front of the store were fired or moved to the back and a completely different crew now works up front to take your order. Frankly, I don't know what happened. Maybe someone was stealing money. Though the new crew is polite, they are also quite slow. As a result, wait times at the store have increased dramatically. I don't think that I am the only one who feels this way. One particularly bad day I was talking with those I was waiting in line with and we all agreed that something had changed, and not for the better.I remain a Black Cat fan. I have bought their baked goods since they sold them from a cart at the Farmer's Market on North Higgins. But something needs to change up front. If it does, I promise to delete the previous paragraph and thank them for being sensitive to their customer's concerns.So if you have time, drop by Black Cat and buy a breakfast pastry. I don't think you'll be disappointed!

I bought a dozen doughnuts to share with my coworkwers. My coworkwers practically ran when I told them they were from Black Cat Bakery. I may have even overheard a fight over which doughnuts they wanted. I had the red velvet. It was soooo delicious. They were so fresh and still warm from the oven.Thank you guys for making such tasty treats!!!

The only reason I gave it a 4, is because we walked out with a bag of 6 count savory asiago dinner rolls. Yet in the cases were the most aromatic and well presented baked goodies. Muffins, scones, cakes, pastries, macarons, and danishes. Plus today they had a chai latte, which smells so fragrant.I will gladly turn it into a 5, when I get to all the other amazing delectables.High marks got the atmosphere and staff.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options. Vegetarian. Options for sweet and savory palettes.

We stopped here during graduation football playoff weekend and were absolutely satisfied with the fabulous food and wonderful service. If you're in Bozeman get over to Black Cat Bakery for coffee and the best better goods. If you're lucky, they'll have some stollen available. If it is. Try it. It's rare to find here but worth it. We loved Black Cat and will stop again next time in Bozeman.

Grabbed a couple items to go over a lunch break and everything was delicious. Substituting huckleberry for the raspberry white mocha was the best decision of the day. Wide variety of bakery items including several gluten free options. The Flourless Chocolate Torte was the perfect after lunch dessert to eat while I sat on a virtual work meeting.

The Black Cat bake shop is a small cafe/bakery with a delicious assortment of pastries and treats. I purchased a mini marionberry pie for $5.00, and I was amazed at how delicious it was! The staff was also super friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Lovely atmosphere, kind staff & every single thing in that building is delicious. So many gluten free and even vegan options. Just call if you need a special order or you want something set aside for you because you won’t make it before their sell out hour, they are so accommodating. I work right next-door and it’s almost dangerous. Too stinking good. Included is a photo of my reception cupcakes, done by Black Cat.

Lady behind the counter recommend the huckleberry bear claw and she was right. Fresh flaky pastry on a plate was pretty nice. Was not too crowded at 8 on Tuesday, would stop again. Short drive off interstate. Coffee and pastry $5.75.

We go to Black Cat Bake Shop when we feel like having something decadent to eat. We have particularly enjoyed the Raspberry Pave’. They have many other choices. Our daughter has sent us one of their stollens they make during the Christmas season. One cutesy thing: if you adopt a black (or nearly so) cat from the SPCA, you get a gift card. Pretty sweet deal in a lot of ways.

Lisa and her team were so amazing and so helpful! I highly recommend to get all your sweets and deserts from Black Cat Bake Shop. Her chocolate chip cookies were so soft and moist, a great classic and the best I've ever had. Her pecan bars were a big hit at my wedding and the cake she made me.. UNBELIEVEABLE. We got her Vanilla cake with strawberries folded in creamcheese (I think) in the middle. It was sooo good! I absolutely will be going back to work with Lisa again, or to even just visit her because they are amazing!! BOOK HER FOR YOUR PARTIES AND EVENTS!

First time I've ever been into this place. It smells amazing in this place and the customer service is phenomenal. So many wonderful yummy treats to pick from at the front counter and fresh baked goods. The prices are reasonable and the place is clean and has a friendly feel. Good stroke rocking some Beatles on the radio. I had the drip coffee and it was excellent which is a biggie for me. Ive never had a gluten free donut that I liked before until I came here. Impressed and Will be back! Ps key lime pie...OMG! Yaaaz!

Called in an order 4 days ago for gluten free cupcakes for a birthday. Order was requested for 10am pickup. Drove in from out of town and arrived on time. I was told the baker had either not started yet or was just starting to make the cupcakes and it would take at least 45mins-1hour. I couldn't hang around and wait. This could have been a different experience if Black Cat communicated ahead of time to let me know of the delay so that I could rearrange my pickup rather than showing up on time and the order was not ready.

Always the best!Everything and I mean EVERY thing I've gotten from here was amazingly good.Donuts coffee (latte) breakfast burrito sandwiches croissant...It's one of those places where cost is irrelevant because whatever you buy is worth the price.

Recommended! I had camped just South of Lolo and we decided to ride into Missoula for breakfast. MUCH better than expected and all very fresh. Worth the stop!I had their breakfast sandwich. I honestly could not tell you what is on it... but it was made in heaven!

They did such an amazing job with a bit of an odd request, a Titanic cake for a 7 year old. They absolutely nailed it, the cake was phenomenal, and every person we dealt with was pleasant and helpful. I would recommend to anyone in the Missoula area!

The pastries are delicious! The family also likes the drinks. Fair warning to anyone wanting to try them out though, most of the time there is a line and it's not the quickest. Hopefully something like mobile ordering can happen in the future, but until then plan on 15 minutes of waiting

I had the pleasure of speaking with the Manager and she is a gem! What a blessing to find such kind and professional people in the world we live in today! We had Black Cat cupcakes and a slicing cake at our wedding. Lisa was incredibly helpful and easy to work with. I brought in the flowers the day of the wedding and in about 5 minutes she had a stunning masterpiece of a slicing cake decorated for us. The cupcakes are absolutely delicious. We had a lot of guests complimenting. All 3 flavors that they offer are soo good! Their rates are very reasonable too. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to order filled cupcakes, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend for your wedding!

Their huckleberry cake and pumpkin bread are delicious but some of the staff are consistently unfriendly. I have purchased cake here weekly over the past two years for my vacation rental guests, however, the way the treated some older customers this morning with disregard and disrespect made it my last time visiting black cat. I will miss the yummy cake but there are other good bakeries in town who’s kindness makes the bread and the spirit rise.

My husband, daughter, and I were very impressed with the quality of the pastries and baked goods at Black Cat Bake Shop. Of particular note the pots de creme, the pecan bars, and the cinnamon twists were spectacular! I've never had better pots de creme. If you are in Missoula you need to treat yourself with a visit to the Black Cat Bake Shop.Update: I stopped by Black Cat Bake Shop last week to have coffee and pastries with my daughter and a friend. The items that we purchased (pots de creme, a danish, a scone) were all cold. None of these items should be consumed when they are cold, and as you would expect they didn't taste as good as they should have. Next time I plan to purchase the items earlier so that they can be brought to room temperature before eating. I'm not sure why these items have to be in a refrigerated case when it interferes with how they taste.

Black Cat was responsive, attentive, and really dove in to helping our wedding cake come to life! Their flavors really pop, the design is beautiful, and the staff was always kind to us. I would definitely go back to have them bake any cakes in the future!

I know first hand that working with the public can be difficult. However, the worker who is a heavy set lady, with longer black hair and glasses should work on her customer service skills. She has been rude to me the past 3 times that I have been to Black Cat, and I have yet to have a pleasant experience with her. She also has a huge chip on her shoulder.May I reccomend if she doesn't like working with people, possibly she could be doing something behind the scenes, becauseit makes for a not so great customer experience!
