I was taken here as a surprise and when I walked in, my mouth dropped at the spectacular aquarium set-up of the store. It’s more like an actual aquarium with the coral reef steps and the plethora of diverse livestock and dynamic aquatic scenes! Cara (sp?) approached us in their fresh water section and answered all our questions and was not only incredibly knowledgeable, she was super funny and offered insightful hobbyist tips. We ended up picking up a nice little haul of adorable plants and fish, and left looking forward to coming back after they received their in-coming shipment of shrimp. Today was the day we were able to return and this time Malachi (sp?) approached us while we were gawking at the treasures in their salt water section. Again we found ourselves in the care of an experienced and perceptive aquarium professional. He gave us a tour of the salt water section and fed a grouper that he had made friends with and told us how we could have a mini salt water set-up of our own. After our tour of the fresh water section, he showed us how we can add a hanging filtration addition off of our 10 gallon in order to expand our livestock or we could purchase a new 15 gallon tank that was also in our price range. We ended this trip with new plants, adorable shrimp and a sweet little crawdad. We are still settling in to our new place, but once we’re ready, we’re definitely heading back for that 15 gallon or mini salt water set-up next. Highly recommend Crystal Clear Aquariums!!

My new favorite place! We've been to tons of fish stores and this was by far the best! Incredibly knowledgeable and kind. Very attentive and great customer service! Absolutely the most amazing and helpful! Very stressed due to a pump going out on my home tank while on vacation they came over and fixed the issue and all fish lived due to helpful comments from tanner on what to do before they could get there. My fish sitter did exactly as he said! All fish still alive and happy. In store always have amazing stock on freshwater and saltwater fish and corals tons of information and Always willing to help in anyway! So grateful for Tanner and his team!

Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about everything in the store . Tanks are very clean with no sign of dead fish or sick ones either . One stop shop for everything from freshwater to saltwater aquarium stock. Best in the business by far!!!! Just picked up a arowana and multiple other fish for a incredible price , these guys have the best prices, staff, and tanks .

This review is a couple months late but I had to put it in anyway because I'm hoping they are doing well through the current global crisis.I moved to Belgrade in February of 19 but did not get my tank moved until Christmas! I was in dire need of new plants once I got all set up so I did some googling and was pleasantly surprised to find a shop just down the road. I didn't realize they were in the middle of some remodeling when I first visited but they were happy to let me in none the less and sell me some plants. The service was second to none, like people that enjoy what they're doing, the kind of service you knowingly pay more for. But I didn't have to! The prices are also spot on reasonable! These guys are great and I will definitely be back in! They reminded me of everything I had come to expect from the local shops back in CO.Thanks guys!

Great selection of freshwater and saltwater fish, inverts, corals, and plants! Could spend a long time browsing through their great selection. Tanks all look clean, staff was very helpful and friendly, and the prices were definitely fair. New fish from them are acting healthy and are already eating after just a few hours!

Stopped in the store yesterday. Sounds like they just recently re-opened the doors. Great customer service! Bought a few fish who all appear to be thriving so far! They were also happy to take in my pleco who out grew his tank. Happy to have a local fish store in town!

Any pictures you see online do NOT do this place justice. I drove 2 hours just to check it out. Well worth the drive! The tanks were clean, the fish all healthy and active. The salt water set up is amazing! It's in a small nook of a plaza... I can't imagine what they would do with more space. Oh, and the prices were great too! Definitely a place to check out if you like aquariums! ^.^

I love this store period. Awesome staff very knowledgeable they will drop what they are doing to help you with a product or to answer questions. Very clean store professional setups for the tanks, reasonable prices and they go out of there way to find a way to get something if they don't have it. This is no pet-smart or pet co here, no dirty tanks or half dead fish or flora, this is a must one stop shop for anyone in the greater Gallatin valley area.

I've been going here for several months as I've set up my 300 gallon salt water aquarium. Tanner is very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. I feel very lucky to have such a great shop close by.BTW, go there before buying stuff off of the Internet. If you show them the price, they are pretty good at matching it, or coming close. You won't have to pay S&H and you are helping a local business.

Was visiting Montana with family and decided to stop by for a minute to check them out. We were so surprised by the variety of fish they had, everything was clean and beautiful and staff were super friendly and helpful. Kids had a blast. One of our most memorable experiences on our trip! Definitely check them out!

So I had gone into Crystal clear earlier this week looking for some loaches. They didn’t have any but they let me know that they had a shipment coming in and they should have some this weekend. So I went in today just as they were receiving their shipment. There was five or six customers in there and boxes stacked on boxes of fish that the three employees were trying to unpack and acclimate to the tanks in the store.OK so now that you know that it was hectic and crazy in there you will understand why I am writing this review. I have never in my life felt so valued as a customer!!! Even though they had 10 million things to do not one of them had a bad attitude or looked at me sideways when I said that I wanted three loaches and there was only two in the bag. they were more than happy to get another one even though they had so much work to do, their heads were about to spontaneously combust. This kind of customer service is what these big corporate businesses strive for. The knowledge and the care that the employees have at that shop is nothing less than extraordinary!!!!

Very happy with this place. They have people there who know what they're talking about, and they have a great stock. Picked up several species that one would otherwise have to order online. Equally important: the tanks are in good shape and well taken care of.

Thanks again for coming to the rescue!! While out on a two week vacation my 80 gallon tank cracked and was leaking for two days. A friend watching the house notified me, I immediately contact Crystal Clear Aquariums. Never having worked with them before, they understood the urgency of this matter. Long story, short. They came out very quickly and replaced the tank while saving all my fish leaving my mind at ease for the remainder of my trip. Crystal Clear Aquariums is a beautiful store with a great selection of corals, animals and fish!! They provide everything with excellent care and extensive professional knowledge. You will always get a good deal and they frequently have great weekend sales on Sat and Sun. I love this store and enjoy just being inside with all the different kinds of aquarium life. I LOVE IT!!!! I was in for my first time today and I will be back so many times for anything I need. I got a wonderfully healthy white snail and 4 white clouds for my fishtank. Owner/staff was DELIGHTFULLY helpful and happy to answer my multiple questions, even made me a WONDERFUL deal on a new fishtank light and a plant what wasnt doin so hot. Wonderful place, welcoming, very healthy happy animals, and I am Beyond happy with my experinve. Will be returning and refferring my friends :D

WAY OVERPRICED. Owner tries to justify prices by trying to charge you "shipping cost" that you would spend if you ordered from somewhere else which defeats buying local. Would rather order from a fish farm where they are raised properly, get exactly what I'm looking for than overpay and YES ALSO GET TREATED LIKE AN INCONVENIENCE...SORRY TO INTERRUPT YOUR LUNCH!! For a store that can only stay open 4days a week ..you would think theyd appreciate your business...nope!

Just visited Crystal Clear for the first time. Beautiful shop, great service. Their fish look pristine and healthy compared to PetSmart or Petco. They also put in a special order for me that will be here within the week. Very pleased.

Crystal Clear Aquariums was a fun experience. The owner is very knowledable and cool to talk to. I feel like I learned more in the few hours I spent there than the months I’ve spent on the internet. Local saltwater and freshwater aquarium store. Sells plants for both environments, heaters, filters, and other necessities. They sell filtered water and have excellent customer service! They have a variety of fish you wont find at chain stores and a variety of fish food.

This is the closest you'll be to saltwater sealife and tropical fish within Montana. Staff is helpful and curious of every customer's needs. Just keep an eye out, they got a real life Lion (fish) guarding the front entrance!

Ive got a Red Sea Max 250, and recently had the tank cleaned twice by CCA , because a back surgery prevented it. The owner came out and went threw my tank completely , and also re stacking my rock properly. All of my fish and inverts have come from CCA and have always thrived. People say this or that, but personally I have driven to the heights pet store , and while they have a lot of equipment, and tanks, they do not have the selection of fish or corral that CCA does. The CCA store is a pleasure to frequent, all the displays are always clean - the frag tank is awesome, and a second one is being constructed now. Ive been in bozeman 15 years, and seen 3 pets stores come and go, and I truly nope CCA sticks around!!!

Worst store in Montana by far. The owner is a scammer. He will charge you $30 for a simple fish that any other store will charge you $12 for. The only reason he gets away with this is because there is no other store in Bozeman. If you are going to spend more than $100, it's worth it just to drive to Missoula or Billings.

Ive visited a few times during "business hours" and called. never seen any one or got a response. I expect that they just do maintenance on waiting room tanks now and arent open to hobbyist.
