One of the best things about traveling is getting to find these wondering little places that have unique ways from the area. In this case, huckleberries. I had them on a sliced chicken sandwich that had a fabulous sauce and delicious broccoli salad as a side. I even got to enjoy huckleberry cream soda! They also had locally made jewelry for sale. Lunch starts at 11. Before that is the breakfast menu.

When you pass through Hungry Horse you have to stop at Great Bear Cafe! The young man that owns this fine establishment is passionate about what he does and it shows in his cuisine! One of the best burgers I have had in years! That’s a bold statement because I eat a lot of burgers. His homemade Blue Cheese dressing is the best! Excellent customer service! Very clean atmosphere! I can not wait until I visit Hungry Horse so I can enjoy the excellent grub from Great Bear Cafe!

Great sandwich, delicious sides (definitely recommend all of the sides!!!) and EXCELLENT, FRIENDLY service!!!! The huckleberry lemonade was alright, but a bit pricey for what it was and the size.This place makes a sweet local dining experience in Glacier.Kid-friendliness: Outdoor picnic benches, fun drinks and friendly to children.

My sister and I stopped here for breakfast on our way to hiking in Glacier NP and it was so delicious we had to return for lunch the next day! All of the staff were friendly and very helpful. AND the food was out of this world good! Fresh fluffy delicious bread for toasts and sandwiches. Yummy jams and made to order breakfast and lunch options. We enjoyed our orders of the Veggie Scramble and Country Breakfast during our first visit. On our second visit, we were equally impressed with our Smoked Turkey sandwich and Beef Burger with Potato Salad. You absolutely must stop here if you’re in the area!

Cute family owned restaurant! Super friendly hosts. We had the veggie scrambled eggs with rye and sourdough bread. The eggs were very flavorful and the bread perfectly crispy. Their homemade salsa is a must try! Loved their coffee too.The restrooms were very clean.Definitely recommend!

Service was fast, restaurant was clean, food was delicious.We're tourists spending the day near Glacier. Our camp site had a flyer for Great Bear Cafe so we stopped in. The restaurant is easy to find and plenty of parking. When we walked in we grabbed menus and the server came and took our order. My wife and I split a full order of biscuits and gravy.It was self seating and we grabbed some waters from the self serve soda machine. I washed my hands in the bathroom which was clean and well stocked.The food came quickly. It came on two plates, which we hadn't asked for but was a sign of excellent customer service. Food was delicious and there was plenty for each of us.Would definitely recommend.

We tried the Elk burger and broccoli salad…both delicious! We wanted to try the huckleberry cheesecake but they were sold out - must’ve been a hit! The restaurant is very homey. People were friendly. We ate outside where the breeze and views were amazing.

The Huckleberry Chicken Sandwich was amazing!! Everyone was nice and the ambiance was great. We came with a group of 24 people and they got all our food cooked and to us quickly.

Stopped in here after the ol huckleberry joint across the street was closed during Normal operating hours 😑 and boy are we glad we did! The elk burgers were amazing, potato soup was awesome and the staff working there was very friendly and helpful. We had a party of 10 and didn't get any kick back when ordering or finding a seat. Next time we visit from Texas, ill be eating here again!

Great service and food. We stopped on our way back from Coram, the kids were hungry. We ordered the PB&J and hotdog kids meals, the portions were good sized. Plenty of menu options to choose from. The cafe offers indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside, there was plenty of seating with shade and the outdoor tables were clean. A nice and relaxing atmosphere. A must stop!!Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, indoor/outdoor seating.

I’m from out east and this place set the bar high for burgers going back home. I don’t know what sorcery is going on with the food out here but everything was beyond delicious. Didn’t know what to expect with the elk burger but it is a flavor/meat that can not be matched. A must try.

I had a five star rating, but am now taking it down to 4 due to menu items disappearing and prices increasing. The new employees who take phone orders also need to be trained a little better, they couldn’t even tell me if adding hot peppers to my sandwich was possible. This was my favorite breakfast after a 10 day trip across MT. Can’t beat the price for a giant pile of good home cooked breakfast. The sourdough toast was bomb and the strong coffee was just what we needed before taking on the going-to-the-sun road. Don’t pass this place up!

My husband and I enjoy having breakfast out and have tried most of the restaurants in the Flathead Valley area. We really enjoyed our breakfast at the Great Bear Cafe. I had the option with my meal of trying the house-made sausage. I thought it was excellent! It appeared the owners mostly run the cafe, which makes the experience personal. The cafe is small and simply decorated with northwest Montana in mind. Our observation is that they have customers who stop in at breakfast time to pick up lunches for their outdoor adventures. Sounds like a good idea! We were very happy we stopped at the Great Bear Cafe and will do so again.

Randomly stopped by here from Glacier National Park one rainy Monday afternoon. I was immediately great with very nice and sweet people. I ordered the smoked turkey sandwich (they use Boar’s Head) with macaroni salad. It tasted great but I felt the standout star was the macaroni salad! Amazing! Some of the best I have ever had. I would recommend this place for great food and the amazing and friendly people who work here. Thank you!

I should have taken a picture but we were too hungry! We had buffalo burger, smoked turkey & vegetable soup, and huckleberry scone. All was delicious. Even the burger had the buns butter grilled - just the home touch to make it special. The bowl of soup, which was perfectly seasoned, was a meal itself. Highly recommend.
