I love the employees at this store but the store looks like it’s been forgotten and definitely needs some TLC it’s in desperate need of repair and properly renewed instead of what seems to be constant “bandaids” to just temporarily fix the issues! It’s really sad to see our local store in disrepair, when I’ve recently been to butte, Missoula, and Bozeman Home Depot and they sadly make ours look like it’s forgotten and depressing! Our town is the capital city, and in my opinion this is embarrassing for one of my favorite places to shop, to be representing our home and community in the Queen City of Montana! 😢

Oh the home Depot... My home away from home. If I could just figure out how to get them to let me take home the houseplants that they are throwing away, my life would be complete. I'd even give a buck a piece for them if that helped. Besides the plants, we have every Ryobi tool and accessory they make (almost) and we always check to see if there is anything new. We were pretty torqued off to find out that they put a cap on our military discount at something like $350. Now for people like us who spend many tens of thousands at HD every year and have had a pro account for almost two decades, this is very very disappointing. The military discount was something that kept us at HD and not switching to Lowe's over the years. We will have to check the policies at both places now to determine what store we want to be more loyal to. Now if one or the other would send all the struggling houseplants home with me, that would easily tip the scales in their favor (hint hint).

I returned one item, and picked up an online order. I started coughing, not sick but needing water. One older woman employee offered me a cough drop, which I took gratefully. Thank you for being a kind human being 🙂

I have used this store numerous times since moving back to Helena five years ago. Their customer service has been outstanding, their online order/pickup very convenient and their deliver has been a life safer. The knowledgeable staff like Rebecca have always been willing to help answer questions and explain new adventures you may be trying.I am however amazed at the reviews I just read. If you want a good time, and want to be entertained you should read the one star reviews by people apparently calling themselves adults. Things like, “you have to clean your carpet to have a warranty,” so wait, it’s Home Depot’s fault you didn’t read your warranty and realize a very standard clause was in there…yea, you’re right…someone else’s fault.What about the UPS delivery delay…you know, because Home Depot owns UPS, oh wait, they don’t own UPS??? But I bet they get to dictate to another company when and how to manage their employees, right? Oh, again, that would be ridiculous.How about the signing up for a credit card one, you know you have to give information that doesn’t automatically “pop up” to have a credit report ran…so you are clearly mistaken as to how that occurred.Lastly, I will say, I am also a 100% disabled veteran, and I don’t expect someone to unload things on a delivery. I plan ahead and have help here if needed, due to most companies insurance. Also, I usually do not ask for a military discount, but I have a couple of times, and they are more than able to type in the discount on any actual checkout line that is not self checkout for you. They can also do it on a self checkout line with a supervisor.For you keyboard one-star warriors out there that blame a company for your lack of research, foresight, and knowledge…grow up. Give yourself one star and maybe boycott your own previous behavior!

HD consistently reinforces my negative expectations. Ordered a shower stall kit online and waited. Got the call two weeks after the promised delivery date with "we don't know where it is, it's lost in transit." A month later after we'd purchased and installed another stall, got a call from HD informing us that the original order was ready for pick up at the store. This was after we had cancelled the order! This is just one of many examples of my experience with their incompetence. Take a bottle of Tums when you go.

My hubby and I stopped by the store this afternoon just to make a quick purchase but we accidentally locked our keys in tbe truck. After we had waited an hour for roadside assistance and were told it would be another 45 minutes' wait, we found a couple of chairs by the remodeling financing desks to sit in while we waited.Multiple store employees stopped to see if we needed anything. Jason went out of his way to grab us some bottles of water and was super kind and Lance also stopped by several times to see how we were doing.Kudos Home Depot on your excellent employees!

A seller of THINGS. Lots and lots THINGS. Always a great place to go! Very helpful staff. This location also has clean bathrooms, knowledgeable staff and they are always happy to help lift THINGS. Get THINGS. Even teach you about THINGS. So, basically I am saying: if you are looking for THINGS, or need to know what to do with your current THINGS, how to fancy up your THINGS....this is the place to go to get THINGS to do things with- and to- your THINGS. It's awesome!!!!For sure, go here for THINGS. (And be sure to add this to the Designated Dump Zone list. )PPSS: they love LOVE LOVE dogs at this place....I added pics of some of the THINGS I have bought from HD. Not the dogs tho.....those are the babies.......they 💗 HD too.

I absolutely love home depot. My dad does too! So much, so. So that I actually got a credit tab. Nerd for availability, because there's so much cool stuff. They have amazing staff and great help. They're 100% OK in my book. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a water heater. She rock Borden exaggerate a paint, anything like that. They're great for this, and their prices are usually amazingly. Sound

When I arrived to pick up a order, there was one counter person helping someone, so I waited. Another associate then arrived, but looked busy with another order, made eye contact twice as they were still doing some computer work. Another gentleman walked right up in front of me and they then proceeded to help them. Needless to say I was more than a little disappointed.

Seems as of late that their just out of stock of a lot of items on a lot more occasions than times of the past. Also seems due to a lighter stock load as has been compared to prior times of the seasons.

Not veteran friendly. Today, an 81 year old disabled veteran went into the Helena Home Depot to buy a new door. He was told he couldn’t have the veterans discount because he fid not have the app. Dude doesn’t even have a smart phone. This pisses me off on so many levels. Will be shopping at Lowes from here on out.

It's home depot what else do you need to know. Prices are comparative to lowes. Usually a hair cheaper. I prefer HD store layout versus lowes layout. I have a semi better chance of getting help at Home depot except on Sundays. Don't go on Sunday if you need help. They run a skeleton crew and people that don't know anything about nothing

Did you realize that you are required to have your carpet cleaned every 18 months BY A PROFESSIONAL for your new carpet warranty to remain valid at Home Depot?We purchased a new carpet from HD when we bought our new house. After several years but within the warranty period a series of spots began to appear along the border in several rooms, all in the same area of the carpet.border. This carpet was installed in several rooms that are not used, no traffic, no mold issue, no leaks, new padding, and well ventilated. These spots will not come out when the carpet is cleaned and an obvious manufacturing defect. We took photos and have talked with the representative at HD for months now and they refuse to address the problem. They say that the company that manufactures the carpet is responsible for the product, not them. The company will not cover the replacement. We have supported HD for year to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars. We will not buy from HD in the future!

Everytime I go here I have a good experience, their staff is so friendly and always ask if you need help. The paint department workers are always nice but today there was a worker that just went above and beyond, don't know her name but had a little bit of pink in her hair. So helpfull to me picking out the right kind of paint base, and was no nice to my daughter, gave her a kids home depot apron and even made a sticker for her, which made my girls day. Sometimes it's just little things that brighten up your day. Thank you.

I hate this place. People are rude. I have a broken water heater under warranty and they refuse to work with Rheem and me to replace it. They won't even tell me the price difference so I can order a replacement! And if they say they'll call you with information, they won't. They want you to go away.

I’ve been working on a project that I’ve never done before, and needed a precise piece of wood to finish the project. Dahlia in the Lumber Department knew exactly what I needed and helped me pick out the best piece for my project. Then after finding out the piece would not fit in my car, Dahlia came out and helped me strap it securely to the top of my car so I could make it home safely and finish my project. Dahlia provided superior customer service in every way. Home Depot has a true gem in this employee!

Flooring section needs help. I asked an older woman to help me move 25 boxes of flooring to the front. She said I needed to hand stack the 25 boxes in a cart and put it in my truck without help. Other young associate couldn't bother to read flooring instructions and was very ignorant on which floor I should buy that wouldn't have a transition seam, so she recommended carpet. I also didn't get a call telling me my online pick up was canceled even after 4 hrs. We drove from Great Falls and it was really an awful experience.

I have spent thousands at Home Depot over the years. I have noticed a huge decline in customer service at Helena MT Home Depot.When asked for assistance I have been told by employees they were going to get me help to leave and not return. I have loaded my truck with large amounts of lumber myself while employees and walked right by me. Theres a cart with 70% off lumber that has been great but more often than not its not marked with purple to show the cashier its on sale. Today I asked the manager while I was waiting to check in line about it not being marked. He very rudely looked at my 3 pieces and informed me that it did not look like it had been pulled from the stack. Basically informing me that I was lying. I said it was in the 70% off cart. He said he would have to look, left and did not return. He was rude. Its not my problem that they were not marked and the pieces were clearly damaged.Last straw for my bad experiences at Helena Home Depot because if the manager treats you that way its clear why the people he trains do to.Lowes will now be my go toJodi Hauser

My husband and I are both military veterans and we don’t like to ask for a “military discount” everywhere we go, but when we’re spending upwards of $15,000 for our home renovation projects, that little bit of savings can help; however, their excuse of “oh, well…you can’t get a discount on special order items” is ridiculous! Especially since everything is on back order right now and has to be special ordered!! He went in for new subflooring today and the excuse was “we don’t give a discount on wood”. I’m sorry, but you just lost customers.Update: after opening some of our kitchen cabinets we noticed a few of them were damaged and we went back to Home Depot and talk to a manager who then took it up to a store manager and they did offer us a $400 credit. They said that we should’ve opened the cabinets right away and checked everything out but we weren’t installing them right away so we didn’t want to open them until we were ready to install them; therefore, we didn’t notice the damage as soon as we picked them up. That is some thing that her warehouse people probably should’ve done but we understand the situation with Covid and everything. We appreciate them working with us on the credit but we still may not return to that store or any Home Depot.
